  1. One game out of the many good qbs they faced. Ej manuel is no joe flacco rest assured. Do you know what the word substance and relevance mean? If you do, do you ever post anything related to those two words? If not, try to i promise it wont hurt. Also ej manuel is ranked 49/50 qbs only qb he beat out is weeden.m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2330912-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-50-quarterbacks-from-2014
  2. noone said kyle was more decisive than those. Its a product of that and the oline blocking. Once again there is no need to act like ej wasnt a large part of the blame in that game. There is no denying jj watt is going to get his, however, when your qb is no threat at completing intermediate or deep passes consistently that backs those defensive players out of the box, the defense will continue to full on go after the passer knowing he is no threat and there is no running game because the box is stacked. If you noticed every time houston faced a qb that could throw the ball (not a checkdown) in the intermediate and deep part of the field last year they lost.
  3. No you recall a source saying that whaley said that. In other words second hand rumors.
  4. I remember balls sailing over, behind, and at the feet of our wrs. I remember orton coming in and sammy being interviewed and was looking forward to playing with orton. I also remember 2 years worth of manuel training in the offseason looking exactly like he did at fsu. But mostly i remember him being benched a decision of the hc backed 100% by the gm. Im not going to say its impossible thst hes improved;however, if he beats cassel out I will be suprised. I talked about this earlier. The more decisive the qb is with the ball the less pressure he faces, inversely the less decisive the qb is with the ball the more pressure he faces.
  5. Yeah and he was the 11 best protected qb that didnt have the same issues as Manuel. It helps if you are decisive with the ball and can go through more than one progression.
  6. I know where they ranked earlier. I now know that kyle orton faced the 11th lightest pressure in the league. So once again while they werent the best at everything they certainly werent the worse. If you read the article along with the informstion you will realize that tge qb holding on the ball for too long plays a part in the rankings. Hence enter EJ manuel.
  7. Pff just ranked them the 11 best in terms of allowing pressure to the qb. So while they werent other worldy at setting up a run, the misnomer that they constantly allowed more pressure on our qbs than other qbs faced is just that a fallacy.https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/05/20/qbs-in-focus-under-pressure/
  8. im fine with using the adjective mobile when describing manuel not using the term very mobile because well thats just a big lie.
  9. So you didnt look and notice that ko faced average time to throw in regards to pressure? I guess ej didnt receive that from our oline?
  10. ill just go ahead and leave this here for you to study. Offensive lines are not designed to block a defensive line consistently for longer than 3-4 seconds. Thinking that every offensive line is dallas cowboyesque is a fallacy. We were average when compared against other teams in giving time to protect.https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/05/20/qbs-in-focus-under-pressure/ https://pff-pffanalysisltd12.netdna-ssl.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/QB-pressure-pct.png
  11. Nor does ej read a field find an open wr and throw the ball to the receiver when given time consistently.
  12. Hackett and marrone didnt throw the football for manuel.
  13. Certainly not based on production. 238 yds 3 tds in 14 games??? Very mobile is cam newton averages 600+ ryp every year 8+tds per year.
  14. Right without a running game; every one of those drives suffered because a nonexistent running game. 13 yds the whole game. The defense knew he was going to pass it, knew it was going to woods or jackson slmost every time and he still put up 3 tds.
  15. Without a doubt what kirby said.
  16. Its based on him doing his part despite a non existent running game, a demoralizing defense that couldnt stop a 2-12 team whos offense ranked dead last(15.8 ppg/204 pypg/77rypg) led by a rookie qb, washed up rb, a no name rb, and a wr that had less than 300 yards on the year.Do you not see the glaring failure?
  17. Such is sad. 24 points three tds. Zero running game, and a defense that couldnt stop a 2-12 team whose offense ranked DEADLAST. But sure 329 yards or 96.2 of the offensive output came from ko throwing the ball but its his fault. Im sure you were screaming at the dominant defense we had saying why are you letting a rookie qb, mcfadden, murray, and thompkins who previously had 172 yards total on the year eat you up for 90. But its ko fault.
  18. Joe philbin a ride on tge back of brett favre and aaron rodgers to a sb and then flame out with a below .500 w/l record as a hc. Or is it bill lazor that has bounced between college and the pros back and forth after he fails each pro team? Or is it zac taylor the qb coach whos only previous work history was a graduate assistant? If they were better coaches it was negligible at best.
  19. Right orton did hid part, the rbs got 13 yds rushing, and the defense couldnt stop a 3-13 team. So it makes perfect sense to blame the guy that performed based off of game you seem to have forgotten. I still remember screaming at the defense for giving up huge back breaking plays after we crawled our way back into it and had a chance to win.
  20. Im sorry thats why looking at box scores and stats are misleading. I left the word rush before typing yards on purpose because people tend to rewrite history. If you remember during that game 2 large 25 yard runs were given up by our defense along with deep accurately thrown balls that led to scoring. Ie the first oakland td drive 50 yd pass that led to a 4yd score, second score the oak rbs 6/31 thats 5+ yds per carry, fourth score the oak rbs 4/45 yds thats 11+ ypc, oakland 6 score gave up another 50 yd pass and 6/31 ypc rushing. If you didnt watch the game spouting of box scores doesnt help your case. Robert woods says hello with 7 catches. Did fred catch 21 passes that game? Also if YOU remeber correctly watkins hurt his hip wk 13 abd really shouldnt have been playing in a week 16 game. Probably why hes still recovering now. Your right what was i think traditionally when you put your team in a position to score 24 points after throwing 3 tds its always a loss. Sarcasm intended.
  21. Ryan Tannehill played 30 out of his 50 college games as a Wr. Ej played every game as a qb. Ej would not have shown growth just as he hasnt here. He literally has shown no growth from his college scouting report the pundits based his draft stock on 2 years ago. What do you base this theory that ej would be similar to tannehill if be was on miami?
  22. Correct now back to the original point i stated some time ago. The raiders loss in no way shape or form can be contributed to kyle orton. That loss rests solely on the backs of the defense who let the raiders rack up the yards.
  23. You are right he threw a pick six directly to a lineman and let a 34 year old runningback and a 290 lb de outrun him. All those physical tools pffftt.
  24. EJ- no suprise here. 49/50 only beating out weeden. Short Accuracy12/20 EJ Manuel (6'4", 237 lbs, two seasons) consistently overthrows receivers in all areas of the field. Maybe due to the tweaking of his mechanics, he hasn't been able to throw a consistently catchable ball. Deep Accuracy13/20 Despite throwing 131 passes, Manuel only completed one pass of 40 or more yards. Lacking control of his deep ball, he needs to work on his long placement. Arm Strength17/20 His arm is one reason why Buffalo took him in the first round. A tools player, he's essentially got everything you want an elite quarterback to have on paper. Decision-Making11/20 When the Bills moved on from Manuel in-season, Kyle Orton, who had just joined the team after spending 2013 in Dallas, showed he functioned much better in the offense. Mentally, Manuel needs an overall tune-up, speeding up everything from his trigger to his eyes. Mechanics6/10 Too often he throws off his plant foot, fading away from the pocket. With his size, Manuel should be able to step up, withstanding a hit or two throughout the way. Mobility4/5 As a runner, he's not dissimilar to a Cam Newton. He's big, thick and fast, which only a handful of quarterbacks can say they are. An absolute mobile threat, Manuel on the run typically means good results. Starter3/5 After having a first-round pick invested in him, Manuel hasn't quite lived up to the hype. He's still got potential and is young, but his inaccurate passing keeps him from being the top dog. Still worth the effort to fix up, he's got enough promise to stick with in his second year in the league. A project second-stringer, he needs to progress a couple of steps to keep his foot in the NFL for much longer. Overall66/100 Matt Cassel-35/50 Short Accuracy15/20 Matt Cassel (6'4", 228 lbs, 10 seasons) has proved over the years to have a feel for anticipating crossing patterns and holes in underneath zone defenses. At times, Cassel's placement is good enough to gain extra yards after the catch for his receivers. Deep Accuracy12/20 As a deep thrower, Cassel still needs to get better. Too often he hangs passes, throwing a rainbow to a target down the sideline. Because of this, he only completed five passes of 20 or more yards in 2014 and none over 40. Arm Strength16/20 Cassel's arm is all right for a fringe starter. He's got enough "umph" to get a ball spinning into the intermediate range of the field, but the deep ball is where he struggles a bit. Decision-Making14/20 In 2014 he was a sub-60 percent passer who had more interceptions than touchdowns. Mental lapses in the medium- to long-range reads seemed to be the struggle, as he had more confidence in his ability than he should have. Mechanics8/10 Like the other USC quarterbacks in the NFL, he fares wells in mechanics. He's got a smooth drop, steps up in the pocket and doesn't let the pressure dictate where the ball goes. Speeding the process up a bit is the only thing one can knock him on. Mobility3/5 Cassel has enough foot speed to shake a defender in the pocket but not enough to outrun him for a first down. He's good enough to buy time but not escape. Starter3/5 Cassel is limited as a deep passer but can still get the ball moving on manageable down and distances. Not good enough to hold the starting job down from Teddy Bridgewater, it's not out of the question to consider the quarterback in another transition role, starting Cassel while the future of the franchise is groomed on the bench. Overall71/100 Http://m.bleacherreport.com/articles/2330912-br-nfl-1000-ranking-the-top-50-quarterbacks-from-2014
  25. he really hasnt shown any growth in quarterbacking abilities since college; regardless of offseason activities, benching last year, and watching to s of film. If he fails to dhoe the tiniest of growth i dont doubt that they will get rid of him. They wont need a distraction when and if they get another qb with a failed previously drafted first rounder on the team.
