  1. Just finished breakfast and was thinking how lucky I am to have this house, my wife and dog and our stuff. When i first started at the USPS i was a sorter and worked hard. I jumped over other guys who were slower like Phil Lintelani and Tiny Magrath. I got assigned to delivery and within 25 years i had the third best route in South Buffalo. My customers knew me, could count on me and didnt mess with me. Thats Mr Brandin in a sea shell. He climbed the ranks and didnt look back. A hard worker with a great smile that people gravitate to like me. Not sure why some of you posters say he is a bad Manager but it really should stop.
  2. I dont like him or his backpack he always wears. He kneels for the anthem. Try that in my yard and theres going to be a problem.
  3. Quote himNorth Buffalo has your head all foggy. South Buffalo is the place where people think straight. Mr Brandin has done a great job and should be given more responsiBills. He really is a nice guy when I met him. I don't have a photo thing on my trackphone but he was nice enough to help me find Shirls latch rug craft section. Its the little things he does that should be recognised. Quote him Thanks mike.
  4. Quote him. I talked to him about that at the walmarts that time. He has a friend that walks Mckinley mall so he understood my problem with that traffic. So i think he is going to rout the sunday game traffic over 20a from abbott so we can get home in time to watch the games. Thats another reason he is a good guy and attracts good players.
  5. Quote him. Thank you. That was a nice thing to say about me even though we haven't met.
  6. electric - I don't think my postings are too bad. I'm still getting use to this new computer that we bought at the consignment. Thats why my postings are'nt long like others but we do our best. My wife shares my account now so we can still get Bills news. I watch the Sabres too so thats why I like Mr Brandin so much because he attracts good talent Kind of like how i attracted Shirl 56 years a go smilee
  7. Ghosts of Bills I forget how to quote things so I wanted to ask what team those guys worked for? I have been watching the bills since 1964 and they may have been AFL guys maybe?
  8. I saw Russ Brandin at the Walmarts two years ago and he is one of the nicest guys ever. I was looking for stuff and he helped me. So now it seems we are signing guys like Hooshka and the big fullback guy from down south. And we were able to keep Tyrod which is good because my wife loves Tyrod. Now I see we are signing another guy and they are all flocking to the Bills. I see alot of credit to McDermond and Doug Whaley but you all should realize that these free agents are attracted to the bills because of our marketing and the leadership at the main office. I know from meeting Mr Brandin that one time he is nice and friendly and I bet you alot of these players think the same thing when they meet him too.
  9. welcome to the best Bills board everyone. Even old timers like me (and my wife Shirl) enjoy talking football here. its good to have you all here. Howard (retired USPS 43 years)
  10. just saw this thread last night when Shirl and i got back to Buffalo. Its great to see some new faces around here. Arizona was real nice this winter but its good to be home. Shirl is really happy about resigning Tyrod and me too. A little mad about Carpenter being replaced by Huushka (we have a signed Dennys coffee mug from Carpenter). anyway, its good to be home and Shirl is settling in to her rutine and Howard (our dog) likes having his yard back also. go Bills and welcome to our new family members here at TDB.
  11. this is great news. My two favorite players are Tyrod and Carpenter so I'm glad we kept one of them. Really looking forward to seeing how he does this year.
  12. Yes I agree these guys need to work hard and play hard because our team deserves to win. go Bills!
  13. I remember when I was 63. those were some of the greatest years of my life. I worked till i was 76 so you have another 14 yaers to go. Happy birthday young fella.
  14. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and ideas. I just took Howard to Petsmart and he is all brushed and washed so thats one item I can check off my list of things today. Have any of you guys found out how busy you are when retired. I am doing more things now adays then when I was sorting at 5am at LaFayette Square. I found one other thing she really liked and I bought it at Walgreens. It's a sparkle machine for the front of our unit and it makes all kinds of green dots and lights on our front condo. Anyway, I want to get her more things and then I can order something for my son Roger and his wife Karen. I see that that punk Spagnulo got in to my writing here so he must like old men or something. There were some guys on my route back in my day that would say things to me because Im a little shorter than others. I don't think he would want to find out how that insident ended. Being how Im 83 now and don't hide behind a computing machine all day he must find this funny. But I can promise you all that if Spagnulo ever wanted to meet up some time his words would be choosen more carefully. Young men and women dont seem to understand the type of repect a man like me is owed for the way I supported him and others for 60 years or more. To bring my wife into this thread like that and saying how she might want balls is a typical street punk that i have taken care of many times. I thought I blocked him before but maybe my account has a fly that is screwed up.
  15. I WOULD NEVer tell my lady she has a fat butt. Sometimes she wears a parasail under her skirt and it makes her look big but it really isn't...she has always worn it since when she went to School 43 in Buffalo. I was going to buy her a new closet organizer but not sure if she knows how to install it. Will she be able to follow the directions? H
  16. HE HAS A HURT PINKY FINGER? REALLY. I BROKE MY THUMB ONCE DELIVERING THE SEARS CHRISTMAS CATALOGS ON MY ROUTE IN 1983. IT WAS BENT OVER AND BRUISED BY THE TIME I RETURNED TO MY JEEP AT NOON. IF THIS KID HAS A SPINE HE'LL KEEP PLAYING. NO BROKEN TOE OR THUMB OR PINKY COULD PREVENT ME FROM DOING MY JOB AND IT SHOULDNT STOP A MULTIMILLIONAIR EITHER
  17. wHEN THE HECK WAS CAPTN CHECKDOWN PART ONE? I HAVE BEEN AWAY FOR A FEW MONTHS AND MISSED THE FIRST PART OF THIS POST. A LITTLE HELP FOR A GUY LIKE ME?
  18. I REMEMBER WHEN KEMP USED TO THROW THE BALL ALL OVER THE FIELD AT THE ROCKPILE AND WOULD CHEER EVEN IF HE MISSED A FEW THROWS. HE ALSO RAN THE BALL WELL. GUYS NEVER COMPAINED ABOUT BELLYACHES OR SORE THINGS. THEY JUST PLAYED THE GAME. I WOULD HAVE PLAYED TOO BUT MY CAREER CAME FIRST AND I WAS HAPPY TO SERVE IN MY LOCAL OFFICE. MANY A DAY I WOULD WATCH KEMP AND OTHERS THROW THE BALL ON A NICKEL AND i THINK BEING ABLE TO HIT A TARGET IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN RUNNING THE BALL BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THE RECEIVERS ARE FOR. I WATCHED THE GAME YESTERDAY AT MY FRIENDS UNIT BECAUSE HE HAS A SPLICED CABLE THAT HE PAID THE INSTALLER 20 BUCKS TO GET ALL THE GAMES HERE IN ARIZ. I YELLED THROW THE BALL 5 TIMES BUT HAD TO LEAVE AT THE THRIRD QUARTER. I'M HOPING WE WON AND i'm thinking tYROD MIGHT NOT BE THE ANSWER. I DO LIKE THAT LASHAWN AT RUNNING BACK. REMINDS ME OF ZONKA
  19. Hi everyone. Were still down in Arizona as full timers and Roger checks on our house every week keeping things in order. Shirl is doing well and has a club where she works out each Thursday. Howard is still doing good too. He loves the dryer climate and for a saint bernard he stays pretty calm. He misses the snow thou and we hope to travel back for christmas maybe. The guys at my old post office have a party every year and they always invite us so we might take the drive back for fun and laughs. I dont ask advice much but is there something you guys are getting your brides for the holiday. I have given Shirl so much in our 56 years together I'm not sure what else I should do. Mix masters are nice. I was also thinking about a Magnavox flat screen tv (it's like out projection tv but newer). I was also thinking of having a company come in and take the plastic covering off our couch and maybe dry clean it and attach a cover. I have alot of ideas but need some help on what might be the best gift for a great wife and a sweet lady. Thanks men Howard (S. Buffalo, USPS ID# 241)
  20. I know you!! You were that little brat that used to throw snowballs at me on my route. Let me tell you this ya' little punk, I won't stand for it. Me and Shirl are in AZ and currently on the shuffleboard court. No need for this. Go "B230 Gladiators!!" (My shuffleboard team).
  21. Try pissing 6 times each night and then get back to me about depression.
  22. your telling me the British used to wear plaid bermudas in the big war? I wasn't born yesterday.
  23. what does that mean? You may not know this but Im a bit older then some of these fellas. I live for this city and this team. My wife and me have seen good days and bad ones. Watched games at the Rockpile and traveled to other games. I would go to any other city or stadium than your place. If I knew how to block you I would. I used to go to the Rockpile for games. You are not a fan. Your team is and always will be shaded.
  24. hardwork. I have to say I was drawn to your post because your name makes me think of the old timers and my parents who used to work hard for everything we had in our lives. Your atitude is anything but appealing though. The way you snip and make sarcastic remarks to those of us on this board who have followed our team for a lifetime is pathetic. I don't ever want to return to Boston. I had an amatuer fight there in 1973 and prefer to stay away from it. Since you are part of that place I'm going to block you when I figure out how to do it.
  25. Not sure what the heck cargo shorts are. Are they like my bermudas?
