It’s only a year, he was a very effective zone corner, Levi and Taron are still here, and it’s not like they won’t add more guys to the competition. Norman has never been overly athletic but the dude has instincts. What is the worst case scenario? He backs up Levi?
Or he’s depth if they sign someone who can steal Levi’s job? Beane covers all angles, low risk signing just in case he can’t get what he really wants later. Kinda like Kroft last year.It’s ok to not like a signing of a aging veteran without being labeled negative. Fan debate is part of the sport landscape.

Norman is the veteran in the position group that McBeane likes ... veteran presence who has lost one step, maybe two .... chance he doesn’t make the final roster IMO.

Might have been a solid plan last season. I’d like to think we are looking less at quantity of picks and more of overall quality. Why put yourself in the position of having to cut mid round picks because you have no room on the roster.

Back and forth on this one .... figuring he’s gonna have a short career with the pounding he takes, but as a compliment I think he’d hold up for a couple seasons. Prefer a pick in the 5th or later, but I grudgingly say yes - championship windows don’t stay open indefinitely in the vast majority of cases.
