    I remember getting participation awards as a kid in the late 60s/early 70s .... didn’t matter at all. You knew if you were good or not long before you got your award. I just think it’s become a stereotype for the newer generation

    I suppose all the Murphy haters don’t understand the importance of a DE who sets the edge against the run, and think sack numbers are the be all end all for the position.

    I appreciate the post in terms of discussion, but player development/improvement is rarely linear ... injuries can also rear their ugly heads without warning, and strength of schedule is a real thing, though plenty want to discount that. Even with those factors, it should be an exciting upcoming season ....

    Many guys absolutely LOVE layoffs during hunting season .... unemployment checks and knowing your back at it in a few months, but they can plan and budget for it too - it’s a win win

    Only because they’re forced to because of severance agreements or because badmouthing a former employer won’t enhance future employment prospects It gives corporations a perfect excuse to trim payroll .... I’d bet Elon Musk is doing a happy dance laying off everyone at the Tesla plant
