  1. Its tough for sure. I like JfH post on the subject. If you have a #1 its great because you should still take potential, but you can let the draft come to you.
  2. I've also been telling people its done based on Hokie's post. EDIT: And now he has made it official!!!!!
  3. I think the point is that if you don't have a line to protect him or a WR to throw to then you might not be able to assess accurately. If you're picking a QB high (QB's in the later rounds rarely pan out), then your sacrificing resources that could/need to be spent other positions.
  4. If these 12 guys that you draft each only have 5% chance of being a star then you have a better shot with 1 player thats 50/50 being a star.
  5. McGahee's injury was his knee and Shaq's was his spleen shoulder. These injuries do not have the same chance of recovery (Shaq>>McGahee)
  6. This. Should he be fired for his clock management too?
  7. He was pretty good at it. I forget the game but Shaq stopped the RB for 3-4 yard game when he had to cover, but Dodd gave up like 30 yard gainer when he had to cover the RB. Combine his physical attributes (I think his 3 cone, shuttle, and jump were in the category most likely to have a 10+ sack season) with his mental (he was making run pass reads almost every down) and he could be a stud.
  8. Thats a tough game to play. They looked for trading partners to move down. There was nothing there that they thought represented value. They took the guy they thought would be the best despite the injury (I'm assuming they knew about the injury). Whaley tried to move back, but couldn't get a good deal. They may not have presented it this way, BUT it fits Badol's idea. We used our first on player at a premium position, and he should get at least half a season to develop a little (at least mentally).
  9. I believe we've been closer to the playoffs since hes been GM than at any other point in this drought. The last two years we have been 9-7 and 8-8. Its not there but its getting close.
  10. Its funny because that was bandit's position. The OL is good enough to win the division but not the super bowl (I assume you have a similar take). Maybe you guys could be friends if you realized Edelman is not a good sport.
  11. It says underneath they would be #3 with Brady.
  12. We're really number 7 because the Pats and Steelers would be ahead of us if not for suspensions. I think its a bit high, but I like these rankings way more than his others. I forgot to check more closely but was there anyone else with a bigger difference between their two ranks. We were 20th and are now 5th!!!
  13. fun game. With a way too early in TC prediction above: Blanton, Ragland, Gilmore below: Darby, P Brown, Clay Some of these are tough because some people have crazy expectations for some of the more polarizing players on the team. That and the homer in me expects/wants 1300 rushing yards from Shady, 4000 passing yards from TT, 1400 receiving yards from Watkins, 10 sacks from Hughes (besides the overall great play of Dareus, Cog, and Cordy)
  14. You mean unteachables right? Cause I'm pretty sure his arm and size are pretty tangible. Either way great write up thanks to you and Astro.
  15. Not sure where Bandit is to discuss. But last year they were first in YPC and if you take out the QB number I think they still graded highly (6th if I remember). I do agree that the 3 and out percentage and the rush yards do make sense. However I wonder if our chance for points was greater if we did get a first down (once we get some momentum we are tough).
  16. I also see either A Will or Graham losing their position to him for the reasons Bloke stated. Both were out last year so I don't think its that crazy. As Bloke said hes being used as 3rd safety now. Also he seemed to have a good year with the Vikings two years ago. Thus safety is where I think we'll see him having an impact.
  17. I worry it might be his spleen. Thats where the spleen is right? In the shoulder?
  18. This is how i went too and for the same reasons.
  19. My understanding is this type of deal was not offered early. It seemed the Jets actually wanted to retain Fitz for 2 or 3 years. With anything past the first year being at a substantial discount. If this offer had been made in June I suspect he would have agreed (Weo's point). Jets might not care but I can understand other players on that roster watching this process and not being excited about how it went.
  20. seems clear to me that they wanted to nickel and dime him. several posters thought he wouldn't get a 1 yr 12 mil deal.
  21. Didn't Fitz want a one year deal, and the Jets wanted him for a multi-year. The 12 mil in year one was established for a while it was just they were haggling for how long. Fitz wanting the ability to get out of town/renegotiate if he has another good year.
  22. I can probably do that as well. TO differential was more readily available. My reason for not using it was looking into TOs it appeared that Ints forced, Fumbles forced, and fumbles given away all seemed to "random." I think the data I saw showed that there was no correlation between the Ints forced, fumbles forced, and fumbles given from the 1st half of a season to the 2nd half.
  23. Good idea. Honestly the time consuming parts were data aggregation and figuring out how to post the results. Was interested to see what the group thought. I was also hoping additional data would help limit the outliers (that NO defense was terrible, as mentioned on this forum).
  24. That was sorta what I was getting at. There does seem to be a correlation. I am interested in getting some more data. Check back in a couple days.
  25. I think I understand Clayton's logic. The season goes awful and TT is not extended and Rex is fired. But I am skeptical that the season ends that badly. I think it would have to be like 2-14.
