  1. This is why people think you are overreacting. I thought what matters was January. IMO we really havent hit any it matters times. Do you really think its critical to win these games (as in we wont make the playoffs or were going to lose the division?). If not then we get into the dance and thats when it matters. From that perspective this team has shown it can play well when it matters MOST. Did you miss last game when Levi played man a lot? Was really happy to see cover 2 man so much last game. Tremaine is a beast against RBs in man coverage. Now if youre saying his below average on island without help then I agree. but thats not our scheme like ever so.... its not really that relevant.
  2. I'm not gonna go on their boards and rub their noses in it. However, I feel very good about the state of those franchises and their fans. Fans I do feel bad for: the Lions. But Pats and Chiefs. No Im gonna quietly enjoy that misery.
  3. Thanks for the heads up, I hate when my fries take too long.
  4. That high low concept is killer. I like the slide to the left cause I think it changed the angle and lets him rifle it in there on the short side of the field. I think the WFT when he hit that same concept he arced it over cause he had the field.
  5. I assume this is sarcasm cause would be insane otherwise.
  6. I hated the commentary with that. Mahomes made a great play to score a TD. We didnt move (I think a DE stood up) when they were doing all that stupid stuff. To in any way say they scored cause of all that is wholly wrong imo. Yet there were Al micheals and Collinsworth talking about how special that was for an OC.
  7. Cover 1 analysis of the offensive game (they have a VERY good defensive breakdown too). I knew the High Low concept on the 2nd Sanders TD. That was pretty easy to see in real time. The explanation on the Diggs deep shot was great to tie back to the WFT game. Always like their stuff and I do know from their past videos over the years, it is incorrect to state that they simplified the offense for Josh. It is and always was a lot on his plate. He learned how to master it last year.
  8. I think yorue talking about the 3rd and short. I was ok with it cause it was hard to see and they were behind the play. The one a little later (series before Tre's DPI) was a bit more egregious. Diggs gets his hands on the ball and the defender doesnt turn his head while being very physical with Diggs. @ 12:12 in the highlights below I agree those are both RTP. Clark would have had to just not drive him into the ground and wouldve not gotten the flag. He pushes to drive Allen into the ground, so to avoid the call he needed to stop (within the laws of physics). Ed's play is not about bringing a QB down especially not as a runner. Hes throwing so youre not trying to tackle him. Youre trying to hit him and affect the throw. So yeah it makes sense you can't smoke his knees when hes in that position.
  9. Don’t even have a LCB and ran with 3 safeties to start. 🤮 Also wasn’t a pick 6 but both of Josh’s picks resulted in great field position that lead to quick TDS (2nd return was just weird).
  10. I understand now. Any plays specifically? I dont recall any specifically, and I thought overall the tackling was great in that game which was critical to overall defensive success. Again overall he has been good to elite as tackler which is the secret reason why hes stuck around for McD. I looked through highlight video and got the following summary: 1 whiff at 11:22 against Kelce that resulted in a first down on KC's drive. He also got out run by the cheetah at 15:20 (I'm not gonna count thats a missed tackle, more of a bad angle because of a blocker in the area). If you wanna nit pick he "loses" his grip at 4:30, 9:40 (this was not his man and I think him coming off to engage the runner saved many yards), and 11:50 but all those had other players there quick. would note he has a really good tackle on hardman at 10:30. Overall I still think tre is a worse tackler (he also got out run by the cheetah), and Levi was an effective tackler with 1 exception.
  11. I dont think this is true. He only missed 3 tackles all of 2020. Do you have data for this season.
  12. I love it in the first half too. As Al michaels was saying "This is the first time all night they are bringing their safeties into the box" he burns a time out. He wants to see what youll do for next time!
  13. Josh averaged 21 yards per completion. Thought the offense looked fine considering the weather, some bogus calls, and some really bad no calls (2 3rd downs fell incomplete because of PI with Diggs).
  14. That teasing of desmond king was too funny. Rook has a chip on his shoulder. Even the ref is laughing in the picture.
  15. If peeps are thinking the price is a bit steep I think McBeane are making an example of Taron. He lost his job to cam Lewis last year. He didn’t make noise and continued his grind. When his shot came back around he put up 2 game changing pick 6s. I think they want to reward that type of toughness
  16. Much of this is good. But don’t blitz mahomes. That’s a proven way to get lit up. Simulated pressure where you drop a rusher and replace with someone else. Sure. But his splits against the blitz make it unadvisable. We blitzed once in the reg season game last year which was the more competitive of the two games. Forcing them to methodically move the ball has caused them to be impatient this year and has really been the only thing to stop their offense this year. While it stinks for the fan it seems the right defensive strategy.
  17. Yup. But could start spread and motion to a bunch set. The motion can make pre snap adjustments harder but considering the noise we’ll probably see less of that anyway
  18. i dont remember how much we stacked receivers last year, but bunch sets would seem to help get more free releases. Seems we like to really spread folks out usually so maybe a bunch could give Diggs and co. some room to run.
  19. Another really interesting play (would like to see Baldy or @GunnerBill if agree) is this anticipation throw from Josh. In real time i thought it was an under throw like Erik, but the break down helped give perspective. Really liked them pointing out Sanders and Beasley giving Josh props on the play too
  20. Season needs to play out maybe before it locks? So subject to change?
  21. Thanks OP. Tangential but peeps seem to think protection is a guarantee but there is a window in which any player can be signed. Teams can designate four players every week that are protected from being signed by other teams. This protection starts on Tuesday each week, so every practice squad player is still available to be signed to the regular roster of another team after their team’s game that week until the deadline on Tuesday. https://www.hogshaven.com/2021/8/31/22648441/how-it-works-nfl-practice-squad-rules-eligibility-salary-and-more
  22. ? That doesnt help. You think Detroit wants to be a passing team? You would think with the number of pass attempts from Goff (5th) the would want to be. But then you look at their weapons and this stat (they are 30th) and you see they want to run the ball. They have to pass cause they are behind so much which is why pass attempts is not a good stat for that.
  23. Im just confused where you get ultra talented from? I dont think hes in football shape. I think hes just as likely to make a game breaking fumble as he is to make a game making TD catch.
  24. Anything to get better running efficiency against light boxes. Probably a lot more useful now that teams aren’t blitzing at a 33% clip.
  25. It was okay on the field. Filling the wrong gaps in run fits. Cover 1 preview with rivers from football outsiders. So not just a fan either.
