Heard he has had trouble with his weight and that he has a sweet tooth. Doesn’t sound very disciplined. Along with his near atrocious pass rushing he is a pass at 25 for me.

Gabe Davis against jets? That was a bit short and after a deflection Davis caught it (there was also DPI)

Agree with your later post that said all pro is a super high bar. I think he has a ton of upside considering this is only his SECOND full year at the position. I thought he would be a liability in the run game but he was good. He needs to do more as a pass rusher. I think beane also mentioned he hit a rookie wall which makes sense considering he didn’t play the pandemic year and training was probably less rigorous. So in conclusion he came on better than I expected and I think he has a ton of upside (this was label for josh after one year). ps I didn’t like the other posts in responses to your question. Hope this is more rationale.

So I think this is what did last years team miss to get us to the promised land of Lombardi. It’s easy then. Tre white. We win everything if we have him and have an argument that we could have won with out him. Anyone talking paper tigers or other needs for last year team is not grounded in what can realistically be done. Going forward is a big question. I think they have LB locked up (barring a surprising edmunds trade). Safeties is obviously a silly value for both their contracts. We need some help at CB while Tre is out but are pretty good when he’s back (Tre, Johnson, Dane, Neal, Lewis is a good set). that leaves us with replacing what we might lose this off-season on DL. Need someone to replace Jerry’s pressures. asking for more pressures from a UFA will cost a bit but I think we can get more out of Groot. And at DT we got a couple holes to fill. 13 seconds was awful but we were and are still really close.
-
Sure but we also lack serious depth at DT. We at least have our starting 5 and all contributors returning (assuming they tendor Bates) except Boettger who probably doesn’t have a big market. Morse isn’t 30 and played a full season so talk of retirement is def just speculation. We can rework Williams deal and I thought the line played well with Bates so am ok if he’s the floor. at DT we got like nothing. FA could change this but at moment we have Ed, star, Ankou. Even if that position group performed well last year (about even with OL imo) we would need to restock. With the state of OL and the Kroger hiring I think a day 3 pick to develop would be fine for iOL.
-
I get why people are going OL but it seems like one of our more complete position groups. Considering how many DL we use, how few we have under contract, and our history I won’t be surprised if we go that way again. Not that I’m super excited about how well we’ve done with that position group.

Bills 2021 rookie class ranked 27th in league
YattaOkasan replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
In hindsight it makes a lot of sense that groot hit a rookie wall because he didn’t play last year. Getting an off-season should help him be more consistent next year. -
I see. I thought you meant the rams acquiring an elite QB instead of Stafford. Stafford was the best they were gonna do without the draft. The rams have made it work but it still goes back to good drafting (Kupp and Donald particularly). As for jones he’s fun to watch and think a day 2 investment makes sense
-
Yeah but they would have to draft Josh cause no one’s departing with an elite QB like they would CB or DE. And they can’t draft him cause that’s the strategy. So I dont need to consider the Allen (insert other elite QB) on rams idea cause it’s not really possible.

Joe Marino was pretty high on jones. His athletic comp though (and he said not to be scared by it) was Vernon butler. Says he’s a better player than butler but similar traits.

Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30

Cool. Sorry not a bettor. Figured if you bet on the winner and it was a tie then it was a push. -

Isn’t it a push when you pick the game and it’s a tie? Just like when they hit the spread exactly. -
Allen's play action technique - 2 points

Allen is a magician at hiding the ball. play action does not need good running to be successful. See how well we did last year in play action and how much we did it as proof. -

Great research. I think our run game coming together really insulates us from the 3 and outs we have had historically. If we are in 3rd and short we can convert (KC is terrible in these situations). As for the josh pick, it did happen but after a really terrible holding call the play before wiped out a beautiful scramble. That roughing was the universe righting itself. Same thing this past weekend. Josh got lucky his throw away was caught cause the refs decided to not call the roughing the passer on that play. -

He sorta said it at the end but he should’ve lead with it. Never blitz and play coverage. Doesn’t have to be zone, 2 man and 1 robber were great week 5. Will they be this time, I hope. Most worried about the cheetah as we lost tre, little worried how good mahomes has been spreading it around, oddly confident about guarding Kelce which is the thing I most hope carries over from week 5. I think it’s a no blitzes game again. I think blitz rate is inversely correlated with point differential in our last 3 games (small sample size I know). Question is can our pressure rate maintain? If so I think that will get us off the field on a few 3rd and longs. Hopefully steal a possession or two. -
If the Bills re-sign Edmunds, they're stupid.

I don’t get why folks think he should move to DE. These are the same folks are upset that he doesn’t shed blocks well enough. So the answer is put him closer to blockers? He’s athletic but not in the way to be a great DE. -
I was just waiting for someone to point that ALL of the wins were by double digits. While we didn’t have a ton of wins over playoff teams we did some pretty obviously impressive things. The ifs were fifths statement is also funny cause of our one score record being so bad. Also agree with whoever said that it’s funny how he said the pats get worse but can’t change his opinion of the bills.

Is McDermott in Belicheck’s head?
YattaOkasan replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
No way a game like that is purely due to one person. Everyone played great and yes at the most important position we got transcendent play from Josh. -
It probably felt like they were effective because every play was effective last night. However I think the formation has been effective the last few games.
