I agree we have too many picks but it’s gonna take premium picks to get higher in the first round and I don’t want to lost them. Move up in the 3rd or 4th. Sure spend those later picks. But moving up in the first is gonna cost more than I want to give up

I agree mid season is a bit exaggerated, but I wouldnt be surprised if he started on the PUP. Thats 6 games right there. He may be ahead of schedule but that means to me that hes trending towards a nine month recovery (9-12 months typicall). That means hes available in Sept. I would rather be cautious and put him on the PUP to start the season as end of the season is more important. Appreciate that thank you. I would still say 9.7 is very high. Strength is not in the prototype for Bills at the position so not worried about that (particularly with his arm length). Looking at some of the McD/Beane picks at CB agility doesnt seem to particularly critical. Tre, Josh Norman, James Bradberry, and Daryl Worley are all okay or poor at agility. Again really appreciate you showing me the other scores!

Havent heard woolen mentioned in this thread yet. Just a couple notes. I think he is the best athlete at the position this year (RAS has him best ever, though no agility scoring). He has only played the position for 2 years. Marino says hes very hungry when hes talked to him at combine and on Draft dudes. So hes a player with traits, went to senior bowl, new to position so tons of upside, fits the prototype at the position for Bills, and wants to be coached up (something we say McD is good at). Its a "reach" but only cause he doesnt quite know how to play the position yet. If you have confidence he can learn I think he could have a first round grade. Much of this sounds like Rousseau and I think theres a lot of the signs to say we would be interested at 25.

Name 2 players drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 2022

Yes I trust the coaching staff to get the best players on the field for the playoffs. I think the end of the season demonstrates it perfectly. They have admitted they were limiting reps for Beasley and Diggs. They fiddled with the line (some of it injuries) during the season almost every year. I think they will continue to fiddle for the first 3 quarters of the season so they can find the best players for the playoff push. That will mean we play worse at the start of the season and have some head scratchers. I agree I don't quite see Stevenson breaking out.

OT: The sudden existential crisis in New England

Expanding a bit hes picked it apart in 3 of the last 4 with the 4th being the wind game. Now I understand why Daryl Johnson was traded. -
So whats left to do to free up cap?

It’s the secret sauce to the picks don’t matter. Early picks don’t matter if you can nail the middle of the draft. -

YattaOkasan replied to John from Riverside's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks for explaining the rule of 51. Let’s do the math with links below. Pick 25 has a cap hit of 2.6 million and that bumps the 700k contract of tim Harris. Total 1.9 million pick 57 has a cap hit of 1.17 million and that bumps the 825k contract of nick mccloud. Total 2.25 million pick 89 has a cap hit of 960k and that bumps mike loves 830k contract. Total 2.38 million pick 130 has a cap hit of 900k and that bumps tanner gentry’s 830k contract. Total 2.45 million. the remaining picks do not count against the 51 as you mention. so more than 2 million but not much more. This is why you don’t really hear there being much problem in signing draft classes because of cap space. Bills contracts https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/cap/ cap hits for draft picks https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/draft/ @ganesh @klos63 -

2 mill should be fine for the rooks. Though as you may have been trying to say it might not be enough considering the unknown contracts -
DT DaQuan Jones to Buffalo, $3.58M cap this year

I was actually very high on him. One of the few threads I’ve started on here was post draft about him being a potential steal. -
Tremaine Edmunds contract comparison
YattaOkasan replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
You’re saying with your last sentence that you don’t see Milano making plays around him? Mentioned on cover 1 was that edmunds is a good compliment to Milano. Edmunds can clean up plays from Milano aggressiveness. -
Danielle Hunter, DE, the perfect trade candidate
YattaOkasan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Thanks. Didn’t know all the details from his camp. Would probably want the contract to have incentives about snaps played. This could be a way to reduce the cap hit now though the check for that comes later. I’m just happy to pay if he’s healthy as you say later. -

For hunter I agree. This is a player you go after as he’s proven and on a good contract. Need to continue to be calculating. The invoices will come due at some point but if you have done well you won a lot without hindering yourself too much. We agree that this is the player to do it for (again very similar to diggs). -
Danielle Hunter, DE, the perfect trade candidate
YattaOkasan replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s already under contract for the next few seasons which is part of the value (like diggs funny enough) to me. NO is gonna go through some dark times for next few seasons cause of that manipulation. They should get several good shots at drafting a replacement for Brees. -
Joe Marino's mock offseason for the Bills
YattaOkasan replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he mentioned that cut after the draft to have some more money going into the season. -
Edmunds did fine the first game against the chiefs (with out Milano). No tre is the difference between the first and second games. I think we play much better defense with tre on the field.

With regards to his contract I think Klein was insurance against at least Milano signing a new contract. He was brought in for Mika is contract year and beane usually doesn’t guarantee money beyond the first year. Now that Milano is re-signed this was an inevitability as many have said.

What changes will Ken Dorsey bring to the Bills offense?
YattaOkasan replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Really long post but here are cover 1s thoughts from a bit ago. Didn’t see it posted here. Haven’t seen a ton of discussion on the topic either. OMG I didn’t watch it all. Gonna finish it now. -
below is him saying his conditioning in the SEC title game was a problem. That seems to be a motivation problem. He’s in shape now. Great. That’s sorta like playing well in a contract year. Why was conditioning a problem at the end of the season? Up tempo is clearly something that he will see in the NFL. https://www.al.com/alabamafootball/2022/01/georgias-340-pound-dl-jordan-davis-admits-conditioning-was-off-against-alabama.html?outputType=amp

I think we’re in similar spots. I stated why I think he doesn’t seem disciplined. I’ll agree his ceiling is as high as anyones but I have said why I don’t think he’s disciplined. Thus as you say hes not what you want out of a first round pick. what if he’s very lazy and has been getting by based off his athleticism? to provide more evidence to my previous post. Others have mentioned joe Marino is down on him because of his discipline. This past season he said he wanted to win a championship (good for him getting it) and control his weight (he didn’t do that). He also said after the first bama game (sorry no link but again Marino show) that we wasn’t conditioned enough. So yeah the stats are not the end all be all but I didn’t say that. he had one of the worst pressure rates of all FBS DT, and I was trying to say his apparent lack of discipline PLUS the stats are why I’m a pass. If we draft I’ll root for him. If he turns into an all pro then I’ll eat crow.
