Several years ago is a long time and I agree incredible hands (demonstrated last night with that big play). BUT 2020 was the last time Hopkins had a better year (2021 success rate was a smidge higher for Hop). Im not sure how its obvious when Cooper had more yards on less targets last year (really every stat including catch %). I get Tenn had not good QB play but its not like Cle has had great QB play either (also a tougher division).

Yeah but their schedule down the stretch is brutal. Cleveland x2 and Cin x2 (and they still look pretty legit) are the only below 500 teams they have left. That and they have to fight for a division title. Would much rather be us.

So one question I have for this topic and generally about negative EPAs for run. Is there a way to calculate the total EPA for the other team after the play (are they likely to score -1 points in the game after a successful play). Where this is important is that a run play may have a slightly negative EPA play for the offense but may be a bigger negative EPA for the other team because the clock is running and they are losing time (e.g. run to limit possessions for Josh). If so then this could be a more positive play than passing. I think this is best highlighted by end of game situations with a lead/tie, where yes you get negative EPA but the opponents gets a much bigger negative EPA. Wondering if this is calculatable and if so then if could be worked into the calculation.

Agree hes underrated and very good. The reason he and the bills to an extent are underrated and good is cause of the physicality. Without him I dont know how they dont get steam rolled. They will likely get some points but if our line is fired up I think we will be able to roll over them pretty successfully.

Cover 1 breakdown shows how he important he was for mid zone runs on the back side. I think this was also impactful on the shakir crosser that Josh hit for a big gain (breakdown at 19:00). Knox's defender has to respect the run as he gives a chip and in combination with the condensed formation results in Shakir's defender getting hung up in traffic.

I did have to look it up, but remembered we had a crazy good week last year at one point. It still confuses me how we went from 6-6 and 10th to the 2 seed. Like in my head i said it could happen but wasnt really sure it truely could. After Miami blew it to the titans i did know the division was comically open. i say comically cause i had a maniacal laugh for the rest of the season.

Week 14 last year was pretty good. We were 6-6 and 10th place in conference. We got losses from number 1 miami (against titans lolololol), number 3 KC (by our hand), number 4 Jags (by the number 7 team), Number 5 Steelers (by the Pats!), Number 6 Colts, Number 8 Texans (by the Jets!). Only teams ahead of us that didnt lose were the Number 2 Ravens, Number 7 Browns (who more importantly took care of the Number 4 Jags), and Number 9 Broncos. That was a lot going our way that day. All had to probably happen to get 2 seed.

Couldn’t happen before 17 game season but since then I think it’s pretty likely anytime the 4 teams were division winners.

Tom Grossi had Seattle above us in his power ranking but all his logic for seattle (and Steelers too) would be very applicable to us. Just weird how were forgotten. I know we havent beaten "anyone" but still we have shown a lot. Also Miami week 2 was still somebody.

Not a contract year. he is signed through next year with the 5th year option. i hope we can get it done this offseason before he gets more expensive after next year. Also noted in this thread is that hes only 24, but he also has only been playing DE like 5 seasons (lost 6th season cause of COVID year). Hes putting on mass every year and getting better at using his body every year.
