  1. I think this means a ban on AK-47's also. Does anyone know for sure what constitutes and assault weapon? (because Helmet_hair is dumb enough to think that means any gun)
  2. ??? That is free speech. Your posting confuses on so many levels. Anyways.. am I to infer by your post that you oppose freedom of speech?
  3. Yeah that is a good one. I hope they do get some funding from the stimulus or something very soon.
  4. Wow! That.. was comprehensive. My money is on Orakpo, btw.
  5. I hear Olbermann knows how to use his mouth.
  6. I'm sure they have some estimate. I would bet its something along the lines of "money put towards the project, minus equipment and overhead costs, divided by yearly salary". Edit: here LA, apparently in addition to jobs, volcano monitoring saves lives and protects property and loss of money through property damage. http://www.livescience.com/environment/090...monitoring.html
  7. What is the old adage? When the economy is bad, to fix it you pay people to dig holes and fill them back up. To stimulate the economy you have to spend money on something. I mean volcano monitoring is a bit more useful than a full hole, between that and the fact that it's an actual need that provides a safety infrastructure.. I'd say its worth a little bit of money. What would you have them spend money on? Money needs to be spent. Safety is a good place to spend it.
  8. lol wat? If Palin was smart she'd give Jindal the Palin treatment, Alaska probably needs volcano monitoring worse than most states and he just bashed it on national TV on behalf of her party. Anyways glad to see your criticisms are so sophisticated that you can just put labels on everything. "Palin treatment", "Messiah-Nancy dream team". If you put a label on it, then you don't have to bother with actually understanding what it is. Oh.. here. http://indigentahole.blogspot.com/2009/02/...hit-insane.html
  9. Dunno if you read the thread, but I think no one disagrees with you.
  10. You know, I thought so too. Then it hit me, he really doesn't have many options. He can bring in just immensely inexperienced people who would be far fall short of being qualified for the job they are to do.. or.. he can play the cards he's dealt and bring in people with a little baggage, and try to limit it a little bit. And I will concede Clinton, Emanuel are "gool ol' boys" but Biden is not, I will not concede that.
  11. Just curious... what would he have to do to prove to you he's not a normal "me first" politician? Are there any criteria he can comply with to satisfy you on this? And I'm not talking about "do republican things" or "do democrat things", I mean just prove to you he is wholly motivated and intended on improving this country for it's people, without exception. Because personally I don't care if he lowers taxes or raises them or aborts every baby in the country himself or saves all fetuses with guns he bought from the NRA. I just want long term quality of life for Americans improved.
  12. No I know exactly what you did.. you took Jindals interpretation of a temporary measure in the bill that would make him pay unemployment to 4000 more people with the federal funds. He sees that as a permanent measure (no one else does). And you have taken the whole interpretation and exaggerated and bloodied it and made it look like a "big government control" thing, and worded it as "hand over control to the federal government". Why do you do that?
  13. Wow. Talk about going off the deep end with your assertions. Do you have any data or reasons to suspect that? Your ass does not count as a valid data source.
  14. I consider her as partisan as most republicans. I put her on the same playing field as John Boehner and his sidekick Eric Cantor. Same with Diane Feinstein and probably a whole list of other congressmen. All of those people are the same person in my eyes. They just want to disagree for the sake of disagreeing and do not follow the creed Obama layed out in my sig.
  15. So when the editors are picking the front page story of their newspapers, you are suggesting they cover the stock market over say.. last nights address by Obama? And they would do this if it was not Obama making the speach? If the media is downplaying how bad it has gotten .. at least Obama is not.. "You don't need to hear another list of statistics to know that our economy is in crisis" "The impact of this recession is real, and it is everywhere." "Now, if we're honest with ourselves, we'll admit that for too long we have not always met these responsibilities, as a government or as a people." "Well, that day of reckoning has arrived" "I suffer no illusions that this will be an easy process. Once again, it will be hard." Anyways.. !@#$ the media. Obama is what I stand behind, he's a good man, a great president and has more "awesomeness" than any president we've had in decades.
  16. Heh, my vocabulary is vast and like totally rocks.
  17. do explain? where has the tail tripping been?
  18. I'm pretty sure the dow isn't a republican, and isn't going to be all depressed because they can't find it in themselves to accept awesomeness as our president. By the way.. this is my pre-emptive lol at you.
  19. ... the chick from the secret world of Alex Mack?
  20. been watching faux news or something? http://thinkprogress.org/2008/11/07/fox-obama-market/
  21. he's a good name. I'll give him that.
  22. Because people are going to leave the US and move south?
