Please support yourself with facts that Fezmid missed the point of what GOB said. You can't because he didn't. Fez made a strong point regarding the bias on the forum to side with GOB, because people are friends with him. Is he wrong? Maybe you should start your own thread complaining about airport metal detectors. Ok, I don't have an answer for you. There have to be limits on things. I think its ok to jail someone for stealing, but the death sentence is going to far. In the same way, there are some security measures that are needed, but pat-downs are going to far.

No where in this thread did anyone say metal detectors or x-ray machines were a bad idea. Pat-downs is the topic... so stick with it.

Huh? Thats not at all what he said. He said, spend a small amount of money on each door in your house fixing each as best you can, instead of spending all of the money on just your front door.

Well I'll step on some toes here... I certainly agree with Fez's points. At the moment he makes a lot more sense than anything Ghost o' Bib has said. Pretty much the point he's making is that the pat downs add zero or very minimal security to our lives. Certainly the security added is no where near worth the amount spent on it. If a terrorist wants to blow people up, he will, and a (well publicized) pat-down is probably not going to hinder them. I'm sure there are many ways to get bombs into a stadium besides carrying it inside your coat. And if its small enough to fit in your coat I'm sure you'd be very happy just to kill the crowd of people in line around you waiting to get a pat down. Pat downs are a waste of money placebo that in all reality do not help anybody and add a lot of inconvenience to the fans of the NFL.

Thats quite a consipiracy theory. Either way I'm sure the NFL isn't comlaining about the increased concessions revenue. I wonder though, is it enough to outweigh the cost of doing the pat downs?

Hahaha, you think anyone with a turban will be able to hijack a plane again within the next 50 years. Those people if they knew the plane would be crashing into a building would have taken it over in a heartbeat. It's just that nobody considered they would do such a thing as they did. Since all previous hijackings ended pretty safely everybody felt that if they just sat quiet that everything would be ok. Now we know better.

I suggest we start enforcing pat-downs all of the time. There should be laws requiring pat-downs before.... getting onto a bus entering a club/bar entering the buffalo wing festival walking into times sqaure entering a movie theatre attending any college class attenting a parade going to six flags and pretty much before doing anything where there will be more than 3 people within a 5 foot raduis of each other.

what is a bushel? are they serious? anyways that test was way too americanized. we have a global economy now. was foreign language a part of their curriculum? did they know what a meter was? did they know the french had a revolution? are they able to locate the alps? the dead sea? can they even locate germany? i'm glad our educators realized along the way that there is land/water and people outside of the good ol' U.S. of A. i also notice there is no biology among those tests either. i had to learn biology in middle school. so no i can't answer every question on that test, an no i don't feel like they knew more than i do. thanks for pointing that test out though, it was interesting to look at.

I don't agree pat downs should happen in airports either btw. Its a weak security measure and causes way more problems than it solves. Sorry but I'm sure there are better ways to do things. Anyways, why do football games need security like that? Were too many people getting shot or stabbed at games or something?
