Week 7 - Titans at Bills Game Week Thread

Cooper will play, he's been traded in season before - this is old tricks for him -
Bills (still) bringing in kickers for tryout: Brayden Narveson
turbo044 replied to PirateHookerMD's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would think, if his tryout went well, they'll add him to the PS. Can't cut Bass, due to his contract structure, but can IR him when he hurts his groin in practice. Add this guy and a safety (Hyde, Baker,,,,,) and we're looking very strong -
the GW FG was a decent kick, actually. The wind was blowing strongly to Bass's left, so he had to angle it to the right. It wasn't as close to the right upright as the straight on highlight makes it look. If anything, the kick was low and he was lucky it wasn't blocked. Just as bad as the missed kicks were, was his last kickoff with 3 minutes left. He kicked off from the 50 (NYJ personal foul on previous play) and presumably the Bills wanted him to kick it to the 5 yard line or so, so they could pin them back deep. He kicked it 5 yards into the end zone. Bass was holding his head in disgust and Mcdermott was screaming at him (could see this in the stadium). I would expect a kicker will be signed to the PS

I was at the game and saw the very confusing alignment: He rushed only 2 players - Jones and I think Smoot. Worse is, there was no threat at the snap to rush more, so Rodgers knew he'd have time to step up and throw the hail mary. They had Rousseau and Epenesa 15 yards down field on opposite sidelines defending the sidelines. They basically did nothing, so in essence the Bills were playing with 9 players. Stupid strategy because, with the wind, the Jets were never going to try to get in range for a 50 yard FG. So instead of having 2 extra guys deep (defending the hail mary) or 2 more guys rushing the QB, McDermott defended the play with 9 active players. really 7 players if you consider the two rushers were easily contained. Absolutely assinine coaching

Christian Benford appreciation thread
turbo044 replied to No_Matter_What's topic in The Stadium Wall
Benford - a role player? That's hilarious. Cam Lewis is a role player, a top rated CB is not a role player. #2ranked CB in the league. So good that opposing QB's really don't look his way: • Christian Benford‘s remarkable season continues: The Bills corner was targeted just once in Week 5. He allowed a 3-yard catch and made a defensive stop. He has allowed an impressive 0.15 yards per coverage snap and a passer rating of just 20.1 when targeted. Josh Allen is closer to a role player than Benford -
Wish your fellow Florida Bills fans luck....

Right now - obviously a good question, but, in December-March there are no tropical storms and there's nothing better than leaving CT where it's 20 degrees and landing in Ft Myers got sun and 80 degrees -

A Few Thoughts about the Cardinals Game, in no particular order
turbo044 replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep josh was great. On the ball thrown at Johnson's feet, he did have Keon open deep for a potential TD (Keon was clear by 5 yards). Keon was actually 2 good throws for going 6-115-2tds (the other throw was the endzone one where Josh didn't put it in the correct back shoulder spot. As for Von, he did play fewer snaps than Epenesa, but, he had the 2nd best QB pressure rate of any defensive player in the league. So, he played very well. -
Josh also missed him on the back shoulder throw from the 10 yard line. He could have easily been 6-115-2 tds.

Claypool had more than 851 yards in both 2020 and 2021 -

with his 1.25 signing bonus, I don't think MVS is really competing with Claypool. MVS is close to a lock. I think Clayool is competing prmarily with Shorter for the last WR slot. -

Good take. MVS is really good vs man coverage where are other "top" wr's, including our TE's are better vs zone. -
Rumor: Bills trying aggressively to move up for a WR in round one

His speed was fine at the combine. His performance in other drills was subpar which hopefully is attributable to the sickness -

I wouldn't mind him in Rd2, I think at 28 he would be overdrafted. Bills do seem to like him though with all the communication, so I'll trust Beane -

What's Ladd's odds? or Baker -
I understand your rationale, but, I don't think Worthy is anywhere close to the WR as Thomas II, Picking him at 28 is a severe overdraft. I would much rather draft Ladd at 28 and trade up to the middle 2nd to grab Legette, Franklin, Worthy or Coleman
-
Yeah I like your idea - these mock draft simulators probably don't hold too true, but they seem to have Thomas II going too high in the 1st and often have Mitchell going before our 28. My favorite ideas are: 1. Ladd McConkey and trade #60 and our 2nd round pick next year for #40 and grab Legette. Would love adding Ladd and Legette and the draft is so deep at DLine that we can get good ones in Rds 4 and 5. Remember, we'd still have the 32 pick of Minnesota next year, or 2. Ladd at #28 and see who last to 60s. Legette and Franklin will probably be gone, but could get Walker, Baker, maybe even Polk. Ladd and Walker would be nice
-
Doubt they're trading Brown - young and no even close to his ceiling
-
Hopefully draft more than 1 WR. But, yes, after 6.1 we'll have some extra money to spend
-
I agree with you but I add ladd to the list. I think he may end up being the best of all of the above,
-
Shakir too
-
It takes two to make a trade, but I would hope so
-
Agreed, especially considering that some of the 2024 mid 2nd round WR's would possibly be 1st round WR's in a normal year. WR position is stacked as is DL, both very good for us. Beane should get some steals in rounds 4/5/6, even 7 where he currently has 8 picks
-
In the mock I did, Thomas actually fell to #28. It would be a dream, but I think not realistic, so I didn't choose him.
-
Yep - that was me I think. I believe trading up to 5/6 cost too much, so I think Beane Monitors Thomas II and if he falls to the late teens, he tries to trade #28 and a 2025 2nd to move up and grab him. If Thomas II goes earlier than 15, he does something like this mock draft I just did. #28 McConkey Trade #60, #133 and #160 to PHI for #50 #50 Legette (note: Coleman and Polk arestill available too if Beane prefers either). Perhaps, if it played out this way, Beane wouldn't trade up and just wait to see who last to #60
