One of the several stud linebackers at #12. If they, somehow are gone even with a lot of QB's taken, then trade that pick down and go for LB, OL. WR and a "not top 5 QB" later. Also trade a second round pick for somebody's 2019 1st round pick so that we have ammo to move up for a high first round QB next year. Some QB might develop in the 2018 college season that we would want.

I would stay away from Allen. The knocks I hear on him are accuracy and decision making. So sometimes, (I understand) he makes a bad throw that is hard to understand. Sometimes, (I understand), he just completely chooses to do something that is a WTF, is he doing event. These are things that you can not teach away. Will he be an EJ with brain-farts?...... I would like to see a player who was recognized as successful at every increasingly advanced level. Allen was not recruited by big schools, he played very well in JC for two years (against inferior competition) and finally had success for two years at Wyoming (the 7th best conference in the country). There is not a 4 year track record of college success against top notch teams. There is enough doubt to scare me away from making a major investment of draft choices in him.

Sorry, I thought I was loading the article source rather than just one chart http://buffalonews.com/2018/04/12/why-pff-low-popular-bills-mock-draft-target-josh-allen-mayfield-rosen-darnold-jackson-rudolph-pro-football-focus-quarterback/ It won't let me upload more. See for the charts successfully up loaded on this site. Rudloph looks pretty good on these charts

You can argue this both ways. If the opponent is ahead by 4 touchdowns, they tend to soften up their defense. Rest starters who are banged up a little and get some playing time for underclassmen. Don't get beat long and quick. If you want to do a dip and dink, 90 yard drive for a TD that takes 5 minutes, well that is not the end of the world. And if it has to be a 15 play drive, sooner or later we are going to get a stop after we took 4 minutes off the clock. But the QB on the losing team can build up some stats.

What management wants to see is": #1 having a competitive team on the field that makes the playoffs. Money keeps coming in. The team stays in Buffalo. ...............#2 a shoot for the moon SB. ....................#485 Trade away some dubious assets for draft picks, trade away future draft picks, move up because you are drafting Mr. Superman, he busts, the team is filled with retreads and street FA's, fans stay away from a terrible product, the team is sold and moves to San Diego.

Will they survive a shot and miss? No, a coach that doesn't show real improvement in 3-4 years is out the door..... You wouldn't know for certain that the QB's you missed on were a bust in that time. Top drafted QB's go to weak teams and there are plenty of excuses....... Yes, a trade up and miss would be fatal for the coach and team. That is why I don't want to trade up higher than 5-6. .... Could we "get along" with somebody who is only 3/4 of superman, or do we have to have the full Superman?

No. We were discussing moving up to #1 or #2 and trading everything. That is different from a more modest move up or drafting one of the top 5-6 at #12

So Rosen dinks and dunks a bit Mason Rudolph Rudolph held a private workout with the Patriots earlier this offseason, so there's clearly some interest on the team's front. Rudolph is looked as a more of a prototypical Patriots selection as he has good size and an accurate arm. At Oklahoma State, Rudolph increased his completion percentage four straight years finishing his senior season connecting on 65 percent of his passes. In 2017, he threw for 4,904 yards and 37 touchdowns to just nine interceptions. He's also displayed some solid mobility rushing for 10 touchdowns in 2017. While those numbers are strong, Rudolph is still raw and a few years behind a quarterback like Brady could do him a world of good rather than jumping in and playing immediately. When asked at the NFL Combine, Rudolph was pretty open to working behind Brady saying it'd be "pretty darn cool" to craft his game under the five time Super Bowl champ. Rudolph's stock has arguably seen the most positive movement leading up to the draft. While he was once though to be had with one of New England's two second round picks, they may need to use No. 23 or No. 31 to bring the OSU quarterback to Foxboro. https://247sports.com/Bolt/Rundown-of-potential-QB-prospects-the-Patriots-could-draft-117173554 His spider chart looks pretty good as well. I wonder if we could get him at 22 or maybe with a slight trade down from #12. #12 to #15= 150 points or #24 in the 3rd round...... #12-> #18= 350 points or #23 in the 2nd round.

Bills Draft Day QB Worst Case Scenario
maryland-bills-fan replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I expect that Darnold, Mayfield, Rosen will go in the top 4 picks and that none of those teams are interested in trading down. Allen is likely to be a bust- all arm and not much accuracy. We get Rudolph with #12 and go about the rest of our draft. Rudolph is well balanced, smart and has a log of upside. -
Mark Sanchez suspended 1st 4 games of season

WOW. I agree. Those experts are never wrong. Look at the 6 first round QB picks that could take any team into the promised land in the 2018 draft. Did you know that means that starting in 2 years, there are going to be SIX friggin teams winning the Super Bowl EACH YEAR for the next decade !!!!!! -
This is true. Most people do not understand how skillful professional ball players are. Maybe you played in HS and Babe Ruth/American Legion ball and think you got a good handle on what is happening. If you ever got on the field with somebody who got to high level A ball... you would be in awe of how good that guy was. I've umpired teen-aged and college summer leagues. A few visits to "A" ball had me amazed. You gotta remember that for each level progression HS => college=> low A => high A => AA maybe 100 start and 2-3 go on to the next level. Sobriety is way overrated.

Okay. How many times have you heard the following pep talk in the lockerroom? " Gee, we are really a bunch of dog's vomit on our offensive line, but guys, do your best until we can get some real players here and fire your a$$". Players read what the head office and coaches say. It is smart not to criticize your players.

No. The alternative to { I'd trade our entire draft if it meant getting a franchise QB. } is to draft one of the top 4-6 QB's and hope he is a good one. We can trade our entire draft (2 1st, 2 seconds, 2 third and next years 1st) and have the same 50% bust rate as we do trading 2 firsts and maybe a second OR 9if the draft doesn't run heavy on QB) nothing.

Inordinate Amount of Focus on Quarterback
maryland-bills-fan replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Although I like staying at #12 if this draft really has 6 franchise QB's, or moving up to 6,7,8 let me tell something I am hearing on our local sports radio in Bald-mor. Flaco has been bad the last few years and also hasn't had good WR to throw to. Sportscasters are saying that he has to turn it around this year or last year and it is time to get his replacement. So Baltimore may be trading up as well as Miami. Rudolph does everything pretty well and doesn't have warts. He might be available with a modest trade up. Gee, I didn't know the Browns #1 was in play. How much do you think that would cost?
