  1. You can't be superior at all position groups. The Bills were thin at OL.. We are great at DE. Bad luck with 3 offensive linemen down and the Jags exploited that weakness. (Fel, Brown and Knox)
  2. Bates is the backup or backup backup (C) for every position on the o-line. Yes, he might be better or as good as some other backup at a specific position. BUT BUT you HAVE TO back up all 5 positions (left and right) and Bates is that "finial bullet" for all of them if somebody goes down during a game. You would need 2 roster spots to replace him. That is why he sits.
  3. Maybe they should think about taking an offensive tackle and putting an extra blocker on the line, in order to give some pazaz to the running game? Bates? Douglas?
  4. "....Replacing Feliciano on the roster is Jamil Douglas, who was added in the same transaction. Douglas, who’s spent the whole season on Buffalo’s practice squad, is in his fifth pro season. He’s started 11 games at right guard, and been active for 46 games in his career......."................https://www.buffalorumblings.com/2021/11/6/22767 2 ,,,,,,,,, Jamil Douglas (/dʒəˈmɪl/ jə-MIL; born February 28, 1992) is an American football guard for the Buffalo Bills of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Arizona State. He has also been a member of the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, Atlanta Falcons, Indianapolis Colts, and Tennessee Titans........................... he has been around. ......................Douglas was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the fourth round, 114th overall, in the 2015 NFL Draft. He played in all 16 regular-season games as a rookie with six starts.............................................. Tennessee Titans::::: On October 3, 2018, Douglas was signed to the Tennessee Titans' practice squad.[16] He signed a reserve/future contract with the Titans on December 31, 2018.[17] Douglas started the first four games of the 2019 season at right guard. He would finish the season playing in 15 games, starting five ....................... Douglas, who has seen time at guard and center, has started 11 of the 46 games he’s played in the NFL. He joins Bobby Hart as free agent additions to the offensive line in Buffalo.... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/04/02/bills-sign-jamil-douglas/...... ............................................ Sort of interesting about the 2015 draft ... https://www.si.com/nfl/2015/03/31/2015-nfl-draft-positional-rankings-guard-laken-tomlinson ..... MY TAKE ON ALL THIS IS THAT WE HAVE A VERY EXPERIENCED GUY COMING IN WHO IS NOT GOING TO MAKE ROOKIE MISTAKES.
  5. It might be that he is the backup center.
  6. Why do I get a sinking feeling in my stomach, when you mention that Isaih Spiller name..........?
  7. I think that veteran WR are a better fit for the Bills, as they understand a complicated passing game and on-the-fly adjustments. With a rookie, they are a one horse pony for a couple of years until they learn. There is too much chance of getting somebody who just never "gets" it. Running backs can come from later rounds or NFA or practice squrds. Yep I found him. He is #19 on this list from 2020.
  8. I can see keeping both of those guys and letting Morse walk. Fel. and Bates could play center, right away. I agree. In college, receivers can get along with sloppy routes or sheer speed, if the O-line and QB are superior. In the pros, EVERY DB is like the opponent in college that they schemed around and didn't challenge. In the pros, they need the smarts and the instinctive play to do complicated route trees and understand when the plan has changed because of a disgised coverage AND be on the same page with the QB.
  9. i counted 7 pass rushers
  10. From the injury report, we might be resting the starting left guard, the starting right tackle, the starting tight end, the slot WR and the starting safety.
  11. Yes. Everytime the Bills get less than a 1st down + 5 yards, Collinsworthless starts talking about the Bills are now going to lose because the tide has turned.
  12. I'll try to post "predict the score" after the game next time. Almost is for horseshoes.
  13. At some point, Father Time catches up with people. He is an UFA after this year and has been making $10.75 million a year on his existing 2 year contract. It is time to cut ties and let the other 5 defensive ends, several on rookie contracts, take over. You can not have every shiny toy you want. Remember that our two rookie DE and one 2nd year DE will get better with more experience and growth. That ~ $10 million a year (plus releasing a player from the 40 man roster) could be used for a veteran guard. The 10 highest paid guards are $10 million or more. You can look at the list of 2022 FA guards at ... https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/contracts/sort-value/guard/free-agent-2022/limit-100/ .(put 2022 in the parameter box for "FA year". We would have a stronger team with a veteran OG upgrade and a 3rd round pick for a rookie center (Linstrom? Luke Matthews?) or 2nd round pick for a OG. (Green? Hines?).
  14. Dude, we have little chance of winning the SB if Allen is hurt playing the second half in a game that is already won. To date, 75% of the poll takers has Trubisky playing at least half of the 4th quarter. A third say half the 4th quarter A third say the whole 4th quarter A tenth say the whole second half.
  15. I don't think Allen nor the coaches care about the league MVP. Allen has 258,034,000 reasons not to care about that.
  16. No I didn't. I thought Miami was going to be tough this year, and should be tough next year. The have had a lot of high draft picks and should hae a lot of quality players. 12 in the first 3 rounds the last 2 years and 5 first round picks. 2020 1-5, 1-18, 1-30, 2-30, 2-56, 3-70 overall 2021 1-6, 1-18, 2-4, 2-10 3-18 in round No it isn't. I gave good reasons.
  17. sorry that I didn't get all the poll choices in before I fat fingered "submit" and had to go back and add more choices Assume, for this poll, that the Bills are dominating and are up around 17 points,,, (or less if it is early in the game)
  18. I think that we can easily beat the Jag's even without Allen playing at all. I can see several very good reasons to do that. There is a chance that Allen might get hurt by a freak play and we can avoid that chance if he is holding a clipboard Allen has been getting hit some and two weeks without contact will give him a chance to get completely healthy and freshen his legs. It will serve as a dress-rehearsal for Trubisky playing in a real game in the case that Allen does miss time in the rest of the season. Trubisky can polish his resume and audition for a starting spot for some other team next year o This would increase his value for giving us a FA-loss comp pick. o This would increase his value if we resign him and then trade him for a draft pick or another player o This would help the Bills attract new, high-quality, veteran FA's, since the would see an opportunity to showcase themselves, ever if they didn't crack the Bill's starting lineup . How much playing time would you like to see Trubisky get this coming week?
  19. I agree, BUT. The "BUT" is that we were playing a team that is poor and that we had a very very high chance of beating even with a "c" or"d" game. NOW the rest of the league sees that we WILL throw a screen pass and they can not completely ignore the screen pass.
  20. let us not be petty and mean. could you play QB even at the college level?
  21. Maybe having less options with the flexibilityof the TE has something to with it. Another idea is that the Bills are trying to set up a "tendancy" with that grouping so they can play OFF of the tendancy to get a surprise factor with passing out of that combination, when they need to.... Screwing up the other team's "analyitics" is now part of the move-countermove game.
  22. Probably not a comp pick. We usually pick up several high quality FA, who want to come here and work on short term, not super expensive contracts. We would have to "neutralie" or counterweight all those before they would think about a comp pick for us.
  23. Well their second round pick and a 5th round pick would do it for me. That would give us a pick in 2022 something like the 13th player in the second round. Prime spot for an OG.
  24. NEVER NEVER NEVER feel sorry for any ***** that happens to the fish.
