Scout Report Jaelan Phillips Edge Miami
LEBills replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He is talented, too many concussions. There are some talented smaller school pash rushers later in the draft (can sample, Emerson Smith, Tarron Jackson) that is where I think we will go for it. If we are gonna get better at pass rush it is probably coming through FA this year, IMO. -
Bills prospect Syracuse CB Ifeatu Melifonwu

Man, I remember when his brother Obi blew up the combine, was drafted by the raiders in the second round and promptly was a bust. He may be a better player but probably can get a better player at 30. Though I do think we will draft a few CBs this year. -
I guess Andrew Luck isn’t unretiring? Colts are gonna be a tough team this year

Yea I lived in the Philadelphia area back in 2017, Wentz was pretty darn good that year. He has really struggled the last few years but the team around him was a mess. I don’t think he is all world but I still think he is a pretty good quarterback and an upgrade from Rivers if he went to Indy. if the bears trade for him it’s just more of the same dysfunction and he will probably continue to struggle.

Brown, Jefferson and Butler will likely be gone. A lot of money to free up for a more premier signing and with production you can get back with cheaper free agents/draft picks. Lee Smith should be gone too but we will see. I think Jerry and Micah will be here another year, they are team leaders and not great but ok players.

For me, it’s still all about getting Josh weapons. We spent a ton of money on the defense last year just to play bend but don’t break, if we are gonna do that it’s time to stock up on WR, OL and RB to help Josh. I love John Brown, he was a revelation for us last year but the guys career has been hampered by injuries including this year. I think you have to cut him to get the cap savings but then I’d put it right to Curtis Samuel. Not only does he have McBeane’s Panthers connection, he is fast, grades very well in separation statistics and can make plays at each level including the backfield. He is a more versatile player that would be able to perform John Brown and McKenzies roles. Diggs/Samuel/Beasley/Davis in 4 WR sets sounds very good. And I’ll hold out hope for an Evan Engram trade where Beane fleeces his old buddy Gettleman too.

This x1000. KC defense isn’t that good, but they didn’t respect our running game and just played coverage all night and made it very hard on our wide receivers

It’s likely we are going to see a full power Chiefs team in Sunday. One that has some weaknesses but has done an awful lot of winning this year. how do we think the Bills are going to look to get the upper hand. Will they look at some of the three down lineman and one spy like the raiders did with their only loss, especially if Edwards-Helaire is out and the run is not a big concern? Or will we look at some of the tendencies that other teams have exposed to get hits on Mahomes and make them impatient? I know McDermott and Frazier will have a game plan to give us a chance and I can’t wait for a healthy Allen to torch the weakest secondary he has faced in weeks.

This was not a good matchup for us. Indy got us in a field position hole with their special teams and their OL and DL won most of the day. And the zone defense is a problem for the type of offense we run. Even with them controlling the clock and wearing down our defense we were able to build up a big enough lead to hold on. Great win, got the playoff win monkey off our back. Next week we start at zero.

Line Shift in SF Game: Bills now Underdogs

People that don’t follow the Bills just remember the turnovers and the overall sloppiness for both teams. I’m happy with the win. -

SF smoked the Rams who they always clobber. Bills didn’t look great against Chargers. Recency Bias. -
Week 5: Bills at Titans on Tuesday Night Football
LEBills replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
League needs to have the titans forfeit last week and this week. I don’t want the Bills near them and their breaking protocol deserves that type of punishment. As much as I’ll miss the Bills for this week, I’d prefer it to our players being put at risk of getting sick. -

So many good players left going into the 4th round on a deep draft. The DE list is still stacked with Curtis Weaver, Bradley Anae, Alton Robinson, and Bryce Huff. All guys with a little more bend like Hughes has been giving us for years but that I don’t think are likely. I think the Bills like DE who are a little bit bigger and long armed, which may mean a guy like Jonathan Garvin or James Smith-Williams could be on our radar late (though I do love me some Curtis Weaver). Wr is still pretty deep and I think we see one from the Bills in Rd 4 or 5. I remember Beane saying last year when he drafted Motor that he was the most fun tape he watched. I think he does take that kind of thing into consideration bc football is supposed to be fun to watch. One of the most fun players to watch this year was Antonio Gandy-Golden who he himself said the Bills has shown the most interest. I think the Bills do want a bigger WR to develop. I could see AGG or Peoples-Jones (maybe THE most athletic WR in the draft) as a target for us in the 4th. TE is a position I think the Bills are happier with than I am. I like Knox but everyone else is just another guy. If we are in the business of helping Josh, a TE that runs sub 4.5 forty at 6’5’’ and 258 pounds with 23 touchdowns in 3 years is a great gamble to take - Albert Okwuegbunam. There is a reason he has lasted as long as he has, he has holes to his game but Knox hadn’t caught a ball in college. Harrison Bryant from FAU is also a good athlete and graded very well in advanced metrics compared to his peers. CB has gotten pretty picked over. I could see us using one of our 5ths on a guy like Lamar Jackson from Nebraska or Reggie Robinson from Tulsa who are bigger, longer corners. I know everyone is hoping for Bryce Hall who I would like but I think his medical will continue to drop him. I think another RB is also very likely. Anthony McFarlane from Maryland, Perine from Florida, Joshua Kelly from UCLA all would add a little more speed to compliment the shifty Motor and bruising Moss. As you can tell, I’m excited for the rest of the draft. Lots of players left that can fill our depth and develop into future starters. No doubt Beane will find some! -

There is a reason Hall is there, injuries. He may be there when we pick in the 4th.
