Cook has made plenty of mistakes so far - fumble on first carry, 15 yard penalty when he pass protected (he went low and a lineman went high), and the drop yesterday. However, he is a rookie so mistakes are to be expected, and he is a weapon we are going to need down the stretch. As good as Motor has been, getting Cook 5 receptions a game is probably going to be more productive than Motor because - at least in college - he can run routes further down the field as well as the shorter screen passes and dump offs Motor gets. And you can do this without even taking Motor off the field. With Gabe hobbled, McKenzie likely going through protocol, and Crowder in a boot; we need more production from our offensive players we have sunk a good amount of resources into: Knox and Cook. Now is the time to get them involved and let them keep playing even if they make mistakes.

I actually think this is a much easier matchup for us than Miami Baltimores secondary is banged up and we are less likely to see a bunch of 2 high like we did vs Miami. If they do go two high, I hope we see some James Cook getting the 6-9 catches rather than those going to Miss and Singletary the last two weeks. Additionally, and more importantly, Baltimores pass rush is not very good and their rotation is shallow. I think Josh will have a very comfortable day on Sunday. Now Lamar is obviously a much bigger threat than Tua but the Bills have been very good at containing him. Should be a fun game but I expect a convincing win.

Why exactly are we favored by 3.5 in Baltimore?

Just a typo if that’s all you looking at -

They just lost to Miami by more points than we did while they were at home Baltimore actually probably has more injuries than we do The Bills are amazing at some of these advanced statistics that the sharp bettors rely on like yards per play. We are a better team who lost a close game that people are overreacting to way to much. Line probably should be much higher so I would take the Bills and eat the points. -
63 Passes and not a single hold or PI???
LEBills replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good point, there were several holds by Miami that were more egregious than the one called on Benford. -
I agree, the NFL has had players die of heat related complications in training camp relatively recently (Korey Stringer in 2001). And no matter how badly you want a roster spot, playing in a game is more physically demanding than practice. The heat was literally making players sick, I wasn’t able to find anything where a freezing cold game did anything similar. We lost based on the rule of the land, but in my 30 years of watching football I can never remember a game like that where players were dropping out with heat. If the temperature is going to be that high, postpone the game to later in the day or another date like you would with a lightning delay.

NFL Week #3 - Bills at the Dolphins - Post game thread
LEBills replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
We lost the game more than Dolphins won it. Shades of the Pats hurricane game. It has been a rough week for the Bills leading up to the game and the conditions knocked us for a loop. The real football in November/December won’t be 100 degrees, rest up and move on. -
9/25/22 Gameday Bills at Dolphins Pregame Thread
LEBills replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
I had the same issue, eventually downloaded the CBS app and logged in with my parents Cable account and got the game going that way. Not sure what’s wrong -
This reminds me of all the years we said “Yay! So and so good player for the Pats*** are going to miss our game!”….it never mattered We are that way with the phins now, and JJ and Hamlin will play well tomorrow.

I hope Leslie gets another chance but his age and being a defensive minded guy may hold him back from ever getting another opportunity On the flip side, we are likely going to get a little preview of how our defense could look in a few years with JJ and Hamlin in the Safety spots. Its not ideal to be down so many starters but I think we saw in the preseason that our young players can step in and perform really well. And of course our front 7 is still supercharged even without Oliver and Phillips. Could see a lot of Groot and Basham at 3 tech this week which won’t be good for a Miami team that isn’t running very well.

NFL Week #2 9/18/2022 - Post Game Thread - Titans at Bills

His delivery is a bit dry, but nice context into how our start compares to the history of the NFL -
He does. Josh says he and Mahomes have a good relationship but Mahomes hates Josh taking the headlines.

Josh Allen's Incredible Accuracy Makes the Bills Unstoppable (article)
LEBills replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Super Bowl he won was not at Arrowhead, but your point that he has never won a true away game stands. But it is such a funny argument…most QBs don’t win playoff games in the road! Usually the better team is at home in the playoffs! -
Josh needs to run sometimes, it is what makes the team basically unguardable. Though their were some turnovers involved, the Rams kept it close in the first half. Then In the second half Josh started running much more and it pulverized their defense and we scored 21 straight. I knew as soon as Josh ragdolled the safety with that massive stif arm that the Bills were going to win. It energized Josh and the rest of the Bills and really strikes fear in the defense. But you are so right that they need reduce hits he is taking. That has to be a combo of Josh sliding or getting out of bounds instead of going for the extra 2-3 yards. It also means when the game is for all intents and purposes over, that anyone but a Josh runs the ball. And in honesty if he ran 5 times rather than the 10 or so he wound up with, it would have affected the defense just the same. The threat of it is the key, they don’t have to always act on it. I hope they shelve the running for the most part until the Chiefs game and then again until the playoffs. We are good enough to get the 1 seed with Josh reducing his running to just about 0 until the games really matter. But in the meantime, I am in awe of Josh and everything he can do.
-
Not so much that he can’t but it’s less likely because he isn’t built like what the prototype outside receiver is due to his lack of length. Scouting is basically just probability. The chance of him winning outside when probably every cornerback he will face is longer than him is less likely. It’s not a 0% chance but if you are looking for an outside WR do you want to take those odds early in the draft? And again, I am pumped about the pick
-
For Shakir, I think it came down to two things: One, his short arms (29 inches). I think that made a lot of teams feel that he would be slot only for fear he wouldn’t be able to get off press on the outside. And two, with such a deep WR class someone was bound to fall. And I think it is probably true that slot is his best spot so he can get that free release and let him make full use of his initial quickness. However, The fifth round was way too late for him, especially when someone like Jahan Dotson went 132 picks earlier and he had struggles getting off the line vs press too and is smaller than Khalil. Tho it would be great if he turned into Deebo or Diggs, Imo his best pro comp is Robert Woods as he has that same smooth, hunched over running style and can be used in slot, backfield, end around, etc… Which would be great!

Really nice that he starts the video off by providing info to help our community after last week The video itself is well though out and reasoned as all Brett’s videos are. Fun watch as we wait for football to get back

So that means our schedule has the most rest built into it in the AFC?
-
I mean it’s special for sure, but just wondering if it qualifies as primetime. Or if we could wind up with 6 night games plus the thanksgiving game? Not sure how the NFL classifies some of these specialty games
-
Yea does playing on Thanksgiving at 1 pm count towards the max of 6 primetime games that can be scheduled?
-
A lot will be made of how the Rams are 5-0 in season openers since McVay got there, if we get that opening night game. Of those 5 opponents none of them finished the year with more than 6 wins…I will like our chances
