  1. I can't find the cold open from "Box Cutter" but in the quiz on the website, they ask what is the purity of the meth that Gus gave Gale (implied as Walt's meth). When you choose 99, the answer is correct and the comment is "Gale's purity is 96 percent whereas Walt's is nearly 100. 'That last three percent,' Gale says, 'it may not sound like a lot, but it is.'" Here's the question page: http://polls.amctv.com//chart/data/2965-question-1.html Here's the answer page: http://polls.amctv.com//chart/data/2965-right-1.html
  2. You mean Morris from 24? I've read a couple of reviews and there seems to be some dispute as to whether Jesse was happy with the 96.2% purity of his blue meth. One thought he was happy (Alan Sepinwall) and another (AV Club) seemed to think Jesse was disappointed that he didn't hit Walt's mark of 99%. I thought he was happy with that number. Then he found out that he was supposed to be re-locating to Mexico. The Insider Podcast was pretty good. Aaron Paul was so happy to play Jesse like that. Steven Bauer was giddy in his two episode arc as Don Eladio. There's a good story that Kelley Dixon tells about how the scene with Jesse doing his Rage impression in taking that guy out and the editing was sort of a happy accident. I like how Mike never lies to Jesse. He said something like, "I assure you this - either all of us are going home or none of us are." Dude delivers the dead-pan really well. I hope he survives that gut-shot.
  3. On the last week's Jay Mohr podcast he told a story of sitting next to George Clooney on a cross-country flight. Jay was making small talk and mentioned "Out of Sight" and said something like, "Hey, J-Lo... how about that." Clooney: "No." Mohr: "No?" Clooney: "No. There's not a thing attractive about that woman." Mohr: "Really? Nothing?" Clooney: "No." Then again, he's George Clooney.
  4. I don't think Ted is going to make it to the end of Season 4. Gus watched Jesse make meth equal to the quality of Gale (96.2%). However, Walt's is still purer (99%). Remember that Gus had thought that Gale's meth would "be fine"? I wonder if he thinks he can then move on with Jesse as the chief cook? Of course Gus, Mike & Jesse still have to make it home. I have no real idea how the rest of this season plays out, but the ride certainly will be fun.
  5. I saw this version of "The Champ" when I was 8. I thought I was going to die of sadness.
  6. These guys do a great podcast as well as show reviews and news. They break up the podcast so that the spoiler talk is divided from the show review and listener feedback. Here's another fan podcast site that gets interviews with actors and others involved with the show: Behind the Cutting Edge Not really a spoiler: Vince Gilligan said in the interview that he thinks AMC will break up the 16 episode deal into two 8 episode seasons.
  7. Is this the first recorded case where the individual actually did "go back"?
  8. True - and because it's actually out there and doesn't meet UCJ's definition of a true spoiler I'll state it here in the open. They really did make it seem as though Gus is gay. However, I recall there being a scene at Gus' house when Walt came over for dinner that there were some children's toys in the house. I wonder if that will be addressed?
  9. Adam Carolla had a nice rant about this list on his podcast yesterday. It essentially went along the lines of ""MmmmBop is a great song! This list was put together by a bunch of tattooed posers that are insecure in their sexuality!"
  10. I usually listen to the podcast on my PC at the site: Breaking Bad Insider Podcast
  11. Not to get all conspiracy theory, but I get a sense that MLB umpires have expanded the strike zone to where it almost follows the rules. Remember a couple of years ago a few ballparks had installed QuesTec in an effort to determine whether umpires were calling the pitches correctly? The umpire union cried foul (see what I did there?) but it seems as though runs have come down and the game has sped up a bit - with the exception of Red Sox-Yankee games, which are arduous. I have no data to back up this speculation, so take it with a brick of salt.
  12. I guess in the era of DVRs, I'm of the assumption that lots of fans don't actually watch shows on first viewing, so I use the spoiler tags for that reason. Since the stuff I posted was actual Insider stuff from the podcast, I felt it was truly "spoilerish". I'm not sure what the protocol is.
  13. It seems as though all of the races have been decided with the exception of the AL West. The Red Sox are just loaded. The Yanks have played without A-Rod and haven't missed a beat. Granderson is a stud. The Tigers are Verlander and 24 other guys - God that division is bad. The Rangers will have to stave off the Anaheim Weavers. On the NL side, it's been Halladay, Lee, Hamels and now Worley (?) pacing the Phillies. Hunter Pence seems to have added some punch to that lineup as they are averaging a run/game more than before his arrival. The Braves are playing very well with their youngsters contributing mightily. The Brew-Crew have tons of bats and a pretty good 1-2 punch with their starters (Greinke/Marcum). Out West it's been a disappointing slide for the defending champs in SF. They still have a crazy good rotation - right there with the Phillies - but they couldn't buy a hit in Amsterdam. The D-backs have JUpton, some nice pitching to go with some strong hitting. They're the 2010 Reds. The Dodgers might have the MVP (Kemp) & Cy Young (Kershaw) winners as their ownership plays out like "Kramer vs. Kramer". The playoffs are a crap-shoot, but it looks like we have some pretty good pitching involved despite the Giants fading. Of course, I could be completely wrong.
  14. Good write-up in the Telegraph
  15. Read the original post and thought to write something similar. Glad I didn't, because your post was much more articulate than anything I could have written. Well done, bbb. I still blame van Breda Kolff. Andrew Nicholson is a beast.
  16. It's over, but I'm sure she too got something out of the relationship. I mean, other than the herpes.
  17. So.... 3rd & G from the 1. Best RB behind 1st string line. -1 yds. FG. There will be blood.
  18. William Somerset: Ernest Hemingway once wrote, "The world is a fine place and worth fighting for." I agree with the second part.
  19. It is creepy, but I can totally see why he'd do it: Good God Girl
  20. I just plowed through all 5 seasons in 2 weeks. I like the show, but agree with most here that there are some holes. The season 6 trailer (NSFW) makes it seem that Dexter's getting back to work. Colin Hanks, Edward James Olmos & Mos Def join the cast.
  21. Tucker! Fantastic episode last night. "I'm the one who knocks!" That Four Corners Monument doesn't see a whole lot of traffic, huh? There's a really good podcast with Jonathan Banks on the AMC website.
  22. Jeeze, I LOVED Susan Banks way-back-in-the-day. Later it was Laurie Lisowski. I'm not alone here, right? RIGHT?
  23. Yup. Walt is the character that is "Breaking Bad". Gilligan has said that no one is going to root for this anti-hero by the end. To me this means that things will go horribly wrong for Jesse (our new hero).
