  1. FWIW, it was ranked #16 in "The 30 Brokest Cities in America" as ranked by the Daily Beast. I wouldn't put that much stock into that report, though. I live in Charlotte and don't know enough about Greensboro to make a comparison. When I flew up to Buffalo this summer I remember reading a big spread in US Airways Magazine on Greensboro. I can't find it in their archives other than a 2 page article about a museum. Here's a video/story about that story by the local TV Station. Good luck.
  2. True. With all of the peanut allergies, I can really just go with Snickers or Reese's.
  3. I''m happy to take a break from putting razor blades into all this candy to wish mead a happy birthday. Here's to you, big guy!
  4. “You can't sit on a lead and run a few plays into the line and just kill the clock. You've got to throw the ball over the damn plate and give the other man his chance. That's why baseball is the greatest game of them all.” - Earl Weaver Nearly 20 years to the day: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PuAnVlRWf7o
  5. Did you guys notice the color of the crystal meth in Merle's bag? Walt's recipe has made it as far as Georgia!
  6. Some from my past: Laurie Lisowski's Dirty Knees I Party With Leinart Count Choculitis Ugly Sheep The last one is the age-old answer to "Where does 'Virgin Wool' come from?" My favorite baseball one that belonged to someone else: Two Bash Brothers, One Stall It was funny at the time.
  7. Math suggests that at least 501 people voted and they rounded. I'm sure those were facetious results, but the quips from Patton Oswalt & James Gunn were funny enough. For a more thorough discussion, I recommend www.talkingdeadpodcast.com
  8. AMC is running season 1 right now as a lead-up. Season 2 starts at 9 PM EDT with a 90 minute premiere. Are you ready to get your geek on? Also - you can stop making Bills defense "Walking Dead" jokes. I've worn out that theme.
  9. I'll stick with Dexter. I want to see what happens with the next arrangements... Batista's sister, Dexter dealing with his son's morals, etc. I'll follow up with the Killing, too. While the red-herrings were a bit much, I loved the cinematography despite the ubiquitous rain. Reading Sepinwall's review, apparently Huell did lift the cigarette from Jesse. I still have that episode on Tivo, so I'm going to have to review it. All in all, great season from Gilligan et al. I really have no complaints.
  10. I know, right? A commenter on a blog I read mentioned that the third time Walt spun his .38 it pointed at that plant and he identified it as a Hyacinth. He said that could be the source of the poison. Dude nailed it. Still wondering what happened to the "Lucky Cigarette", though. Anyway, now what? Hank gets some sort of credit as the guy that identified Gus as the kingpin with him being killed in a blast in Hector's room. The superlab is toast. I'm thinking that Walt's cancer has returned and he'll need to replenish those funds. Hopefully this means the return of Skinny Pete & Badger. But what about Mike? I'd be crazy wondering about this, but at least the Walking Dead returns next week. Also, Boardwalk Empire & Dexter should carry me a bit.
  11. Man, sounds like a script for a movie. Oh wait, it was.
  12. iSad
  13. There are 6 webisodes up on Hulu. Not for the faint of heart. Part 1 Note: I had to create a Hulu account to watch which is annoying, but totally worth it.
  14. This guy will be happy.

  16. Isn't the only way this could have happened is Gus ordered Brock to be poisoned, right? The only person that had access in the window between when Jesse saw his cigarette in the morning was Tyrus. Walt never had access. Now, Walt could have poisoned Brock with some other ricin he cooked up, but how does Jesse lose his lucky cigarette? Can't wait for next week.
  17. Here, have an iPad2.
  18. Nice write-up. I left a comment for you over there.
  19. Bases loaded, one out, & Chase Utley was coming up. It was obvious how this was going to play out. Joe Posnanski wrote a great column about last night.
  20. 161 games and then last night. The Cardinals destroyed the Astros with Chris Carpenter breaking faces. That was expected. The other 3 games were nuts. The Yanks were all over the Rays after Teixeira's grand slam, but let it slip away after putting the game in the hands of the Scranton bullpen. 8 runs later, Rays win. In Baltimore, Paplebon blew the save, end of season for the Red Sox who were supposed to be better than the '27 Yankees. Then in Atlanta, well this photo says it all.
  21. Here's my prediction: That ricin gets used... soon.
  22. Did you catch the "Godfather" homage with the oranges falling on his head? Good stuff. That same actor had a similar death on "Terriers" when he tried to run away from his captors and got hit by a car.
  23. I'm guessing he was one of the guys with the glasses. I think one of the other guys was in Generation Kill & Glory Daze. It was a funny scene with Mary Louise Parker & Jennifer Jason Leigh. As far as BB goes, the writers have really written themselves into a corner here. It's like this was written when they thought the show might not be coming back or something. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
  24. She probably limited it to 5 years because Cameron Todd Willingham was executed in 2004.
  25. While I find her to be a self-serving bomb-thrower, Ann Coulter outlined some of the specifics about this.
