  1. YES....they need to add a real #2 whether a FA or trade. Edwards has no chance if they don't.
  2. If the Bills were smart, they would bring in a guy like Coles or Toomer for1-2 years and make him the clear #2. In that time, have Hardy focus on being a red zone threat only. He should practice red zone patterns so much he has them down pat, and not even see the field unless we're in the red zone. After a year of perfecting this, let him expand his role next year. The Bills would get a solid red zone threat with his height for this season which would allow Hardy to get his confidence up and study under the #2.
  3. Reed is a failed #2 and has never been a solid #3.
  4. I'm sure everybody can think of 2-3 WRs the last 5 years that could of been solid. Well.....they weren't. Who cares if they show flashes, a real WR will elevate his game to the point where there is no doubt he is a #2 or #3 receiver. What the Bills need to do is get a REAL #2, not take a chance on a prospect like Johnson or Jenkins. That #2 needs to work with Evans to create a REAL WR duo that Edwards can take advantage of. Evans, X, Reed, Parrish, and Johnson is great, but they need X, without it you have last year. You know, Evans being double teamed, Reed catching 2-3 clutch passes but being invisible the rest of the game, Parrish on a reverse.....that is the offense you have without a REAL #2 and we WILL NOT IMPROVE. The talent is not there, we need somebody to compliment Evans, that lesson has been proved for years now. If the Bills can get Coles or even Toomer, they can grab a catch passing TE in the draft and not have all the pressure on them LIKE IT WAS FOR HARDY THIS YEAR. If the Bills go with Johnson or Jenkins, then whatever TE we draft will be the letdown Hardy of 2009 as will Edwards who needs real weapons. WE DO NOT HAVE THE TALENT. If they sign a #2, then there will be Evans, #2, TE, and several talented players (Reed, Hardy, etc) to share the load. Without them, everybody will expect Evans and the rookie TE to carry the load....and will be let down AGAIN. Status quo and 7-9 is not the answer.
  5. I think by going after Waters they plan to go after an experienced player, not draft.
  6. At first I thought it said Pat Williams.
  7. I didn't say I liked what the Bills have done, I said this is what it looks like they are going to do.
  8. Agreed, but they won't use the first 2 picks on one.
  9. They prob realized fans weren't going to buy tickets for Fitzpatrick or a backup center so they had to shell out a little more cash.
  10. DE and TE for the first two picks. - Signed QB, C, and CB. - Bringing in Peterson and June for LB. - Talking about trading for Waters at G. - No way do we draft a WR early again. - Working on extending Peters. - Adding a vet RB. That leaves pass rushing DE and pass catching TE as the team's 2 biggest needs assuming needs above filled, DT could be in there too so DE round 1 and TE round 2 and DT being the wild card.
  11. I am still deciding....want to see what they do in FA. If they don't spend $ then I'm not going to.
  12. Its a lame excuse...."we're the Bills, we can't multi-task, we like to focus on one player at a time"...and its total BS. Just won't admit that they are being cheap. We NEED a #2 WR in FREE AGENCY.....the only position that 100% can not be addressed via the draft. It should be the #1 priority right now.
  13. Might be a good time to make the deal. With the Chiefs getting their franchise QB and a solid LB for just a 2nd rounder, they will have to get equal value for a 32 year disgruntled guard. If they ask a high price from the Bills, they will only fan the flames of cooersion (sp?) between the Pats and themselves.
  14. I think we need a new room at TBD......"2009 Gripes"...where everybody can go and post their anger about the Bills this season instead of seeing 5 of these threads a day.
  15. Its already been reported he's playing center, so wouldn't be shocked if we draft a guard.
  16. I hated him when I first started reading his columns because he was all doom and gloom. Then I realized he was right most of the time, and is now my favorite columnist. He's paid to be the "bad guy" or devil's advocate on everything the Bills do, can't fault him for it.
  17. I like that...although Holt is a dome player.... Hmmm...but I remember him having a big day at RWS when I was at a game once....
