  1. Being discussed here: http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...86009&st=80
  2. I'd start my team with a guy like Chris Kelsay, a great guy with a high motor, and I'd pay him more than anybody else so everybody would aspire to play like him.
  3. Today's Buffalo News: "Buffalo Bills Chief Operating Officer Russ Brandon painted a less than optimistic picture regarding the possibility of a new contract agreement with left tackle Jason Peters. Speaking at the NFL owners meetings in Dana Point, Calif., last week, Brandon said talks with Peters' agent, Eugene Parker, are ongoing, but the two sides remain far apart." http://www.buffalonews.com/452/story/624261.html Article also says they don't want this to go through April, so wouldn't be surprised to see this end either way soon. If a trade goes through, and its the Eagles, I'd like to see us grab Smith at 11, and hopefully Pettigrew with the pick we get from the Eagles. His blocking skills will come in handy this year, and his receiving skills in 2010 when TO is gone. Then use your 2nd rounder on best DE/LB available. That'd be a good draft.
  4. I don't think Ralph wants to recognize Simpson or Gilchrist, hence why they only left one option. Thomas will win that spot, no matter what.
  5. He deserves more than 1-2 million more, I think around $10 million would be fair, but asking to be the highest paid LT is over the top. However the question remains...should the Bills spend money on a player who's play fell off last year and who's selfishness has hurt the team?
  6. This is our local neighborhood state senator, was just on Fox News and said the name on the cornerstone was "Freedom Tower" and needs to stay that way. Kind of agree with him, they shouldn't have called it Freedom Tower then changed it for marketing reasons, basically a little too late for that. They should have started with One World Tower in the first place. If legislation passes, funding will be cut to the tower and from what he just said, sounds like he has support. PS - Golden is an awesome politician, guy is always out and about in the neighborhood and actually fights for what people want here. Nobody even ran against him last cycle. "Freedom may be returning to One World Trade Center. A bill to be submitted this week in Albany seeks a permanent name change for the tower at Ground Zero, officially declaring it the Freedom Tower. Brooklyn Sen. Marty Golden is submitting the legislation in defiance of the Port Authority, which owns the site. The agency last week announced it was dropping the patriotic moniker. Golden is canvassing fellow Republicans as well as Democrats in the Legislature for support for his bill." http://www.nypost.com/seven/03292009/news/...edom_161905.htm
  7. Ben of Iowa City writes: What do you think about the Packers taking Andre Smith at the 9th spot? They desperately need an OT, and Smith was a monster 3 straight years at Alabama. I'm willing to forgive his combine mishap. Is Ted Thompson? In my opinion, the Packers have to take him, do you agree? Kevin Seifert: I think that's going to be one of the NFC North's questions as we head down the home stretch before the draft. The Packers' short- and long-term needs at tackle have been well-documented, with Chad Clifton seemingly nearing the end of his career and Mark Tauscher's left knee a question mark. I'm sure Thompson would like to add a big-time pass-rusher for the 3-4 defense, but everyone agrees Smith is immensely talented. If all things were equal, he'd be off the board by No. 9. I know there are concerns about his departure from the combine, but to me the biggest concern is that he was still in pretty average shape for his pro day. The Packers have a really, really difficult decision to make here. http://myespn.go.com/blogs/nfcnorth/0-9-13...nd-Mailbag.html
  8. My brother just sent me a map that was circulated in his office, shows the eastern half of London with a map key that lists financial institutions, law firms, police stations, etc. that guide folks on where to protest. Some even list a reason why they should be protested (one law firm has - "profiteers of protest busting injunctions", ha!) http://www.climatecamp.org.uk/themes/ccamp...gsquaremile.pdf If only people used these talents for something worthwhile...
  9. So if we trade Peters and let's say get one of the Eagle's first round picks, and Pettigrew and Matthews are on the board, who would you take?
  10. Makes me think of the Teletubbies....on crack.
  11. I want to keep him, but he doesnt deserve $12 million.
  12. Found this nugget down in the comments by the guy who wrote the above: "Brian makes a good point. There is SO much happening out there now. So many conversations/opinions/options. I would guess that the great majority of what is discussed or planned—never actually happens. I know for a fact that about a month ago the Bils had conversations with the Chiefs. At one point, I thought something was imminent. Obviously nothing happened—BUT, who knows, it may yet. Or may not. I also KNOW that a part of the OBD brain trust was infatuated with kicking tires on Jay Cutler. Well—that looks like a dead end now too."
  13. If Peters demands $12 million plus then unload him, too much money to invest in a player that doesn't touch the ball and sits out to hurt the team. What scares me is that they like Andre Smith, who reminds me of Mike Williams. Reading all of it and putting it together, it looks like the Bills would use #11 on Smith, a traded first rounder (for Peters) on Pettigrew, and take Matthews with their 2nd rounder if still on the board.
  14. http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2009/3/29/...med-speculation I guess take it for what its worth, but these guys have been right on their insider info before with the Bills. "1) Let's just say the Bills think that their star left tackle not only will stay out of the spring conditioning program, but also the OTAs, and training camp come summer. Let's just also say that they think there is an excellent chance he won't come in for the 2009 season until the tenth game - thus not losing a FA year. Let's just also say that he is demanding he be the highest-paid LT in the NFL and won't budge on this in their salary negotiations. What do you think they should do, or plan to do? 2) Let's just say that they think that a certain Alabama LT is by far the best OT available and have checked out certain problematic personal issues. 3) Let's say that they think that Brandon Pettigrew is a very special player. A "one in five years" kind of guy at the position. 4) Let's say that of the three USC linebackers, a certain Mr. Matthews has by far the greatest upside. At least in the eyes of OBD. 5) Let's say that Mr. Maybin may not have the physical stature/strength to fill the role all of YOU so dearly want him to."
  15. The offensive line has the strong potential to be in shambles, and nothing above will even matter.
  16. The more I think of Maybin, the more I don't think he's worth the 11th overall pick. - one year wonder - played at a light weight that won't cut it in the NFL at DE - gained weight, but have never seen him play at a heavier weight - might be juicing Late first round or 2nd maybe, but not 11.
  17. That was a tough choice on the Buffalo Bills 50 Year team. Who was the better coach - Lou Saban or Marv Levy? Levy is....well...Levy. However Saban actually won championships and probably had less talent. I hate to say it, but I voted Saban. I LOVE Marv, but in the end Saban won the big game, something Marv couldn't do.
  18. Looks like its all my fault. I love that Brown was there, that guy can't get away from bad press.
  19. He's gonna tell you Byron Leftwich and Jeff Garcia are still out there, so there's not much of a market for backup QBs right now, and plenty of time left in the offseason.
