  1. So it looks like Peters wants out of Buffalo, and there must be enough interest because Tim now says we can get first and third picks. He also mentions TE is a priority for the Bills. Guess its not if, but when Peters will be traded. W-S, NC: Tim, if the Bills should trade Peters, which team do you think would be most interested and what's fair compensation? SportsNation Tim Graham: (3:37 PM ET ) Philly is mentioned most often because of their need and the fact they have the picks. A first-rounder and a third-rounder could get it done. John(Buffalo): So basically you see the Buffalo Bills trading LT Jason Peters? Will we get a 1st rd pick for him atleast? SportsNation Tim Graham: (3:40 PM ET ) I do see Peters bringing back a first-rounder. I wasn't convinced a few weeks ago, but the more people I speak with about it, the more that seems probable. Robert (Latrobe, PA): So who will be stepping in for Peters after his probable trade? SportsNation Tim Graham: (3:44 PM ET ) Excellent question. We're still trying to find out who'll be replacing Derrick Dockery. But this situation is evolving into a situation where the Bills have no choice. This isn't a decision that hinges on who the replacement will be. char (NJ): if chad johnson was forced to stay in cincy...can't the bills use that as an example and force peters to stay? SportsNation Tim Graham: (4:05 PM ET ) I have the strong impression Peters doesn't care about other examples. He's doing his thing. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=25771
  2. The next team in order that needs a QB would be the Jets if they wanted Freeman before Denver went after him. I can't see the Bills trading down with the Jets.
  3. Now they just have to uncover Maybin as the other one.
  4. No, he's just saying why can't people be patriotic and neighborly like they were right after 9-11? For a few weeks after people didn't honk their horns, drove better, people were courteous on the subways and buses. In general, most people were decent to each other. I think its lame to make fun of him for saying he wants people to be like that all the time. I mean, god forbid.
  5. Being in NYC, those few weeks after 9-11 brought out the best in NYers, I'm on board with Beck. And I share his sentiment about some of the 9-11 families, some of them were WAY over the top with complaining, they let the "power" they had go to their heads and started abusing it.
  6. 110% agree, however I don't think the Bills brass has the balls to do that.
  7. In 2010 there was supposed to be no death tax. I remember Boomer Esiason on his NYC radio show saying that the best chance the Bills had of staying in Buffalo was if Ralph passed on in 2010 the family wouldn't have the burden of the hefty taxes on the team transferring over. I know its a little morbid, but it has to be discussed. President Obama in his new budget reinstates the death tax for 2010. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123846422014872229.html Basically, one of the best chances of keeping the Bills in Buffalo is about to be wiped out, and the family will have no choice but to sell. Let's keep this about the BILLS and NOT about politics.
  8. I had this exact discussion last night on the Buffalo Rumblings site, and made all the arguments you did, but after several posts I'm leaning towards the Bills having to trade him. If they want to win now (which is what the TO move signified) then they're not going to go through another holdout. So its either a deal works out (which Peters prob doesn't want) and trading him.
  9. Reed or Thomas should be first, neither were first rounders.
  10. Yeaaaaaahhhh.....okaaaaaay. LONDON — Thousands of G20 protesters jammed downtown London on Wednesday, storming and smashing the windows at a Royal Bank of Scotland building. Others tried to storm the Bank of England, pelting police with eggs and fruit and rocking the barricades designed to control them. One police officer was injured after being hit with a large pole during the demonstration and other officers were forced to retreat behind metal barriers as scuffles with the crowd intensitied, Sky News reported. Demonstrators shouted "Abolish Money!" and clogged streets in the financial district known as "The City" even as Prime Minister Gordon Brown and President Barack Obama held a news conference elsewhere in the British capital. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,511981,00.html Let's abolish money....that'll fix all the world's problems.
  11. I can't believe the Bills are going to be the big losers in all of this, and a selfish player who just wants off the team will be the winner.
  12. If Peters wants out of Buffalo, then I only see us getting a 2nd or 3rd rounder for him.
  13. Update to the original blog post (by the poster) "I’ve read all of these posts and agree with some and disagree with others. A couple of things—the Bills will do NOTHING that they feel won’t help them in 2009, i.e., forget about the spite factor. They aren’t going to let Peters sit out until game #10, fine him a fortune and then him welcome back. Peters has them over a barrell there—and there are those at OBD who feel unless his contract demands are met, that’s exactly what he intends to do. I do not think he gives a hoot about money—the Bills collected every dime of fine money he owed by missing all of camp and Peters didn’t blink an eye. For whatever reason I simply believe he wants out of Buffalo, and knowing that and with a coaching staff that has to win this year, I truly believe that when OBD and Parker agree there is no way a deal will get done—they are going to actively shop him. What is happening now is more passive than aggressive. Expect this to change. I do not think that there is any other recourse for the Bills—and I am sure we will all argue as to what we receive back is “worth it” when/if this happens. I fully believe that what we get back will be far less than what the 2006/2007 Peters was worth to us, but honestly…the 2008 Peters was distinctly unpredictable from play-to-play. Like Brian—I agree. Watch the Lions in this."
  14. I think Geitner and and Daschle were huge deals, Geitner should not have been confirmed. This is more of just a mistake, doesn't look like a big deal.
  15. Boooooo Does Baseketball count? That'd be my number 1!
  16. I know Cortland, that's where I stop to take a leak driving from NYC to Buffalo, ha. Also says Cornell is a possibility, Ithaca is DEF Bills territory...this is hitting me like the Toronto news did when it broke.
  17. What? Really? That's total Bills/Giants territory! Wonder if they anticipate the Bills leaving???
  18. He's right... Except was he here when we beat the Pats that one time?
  19. Buffalo Rumblings reported the other day that part of the Bills brass was obsessed with bringing him in for a look. Personally, I don't think it will ever happen, but will make the draft more interesting!
  20. Pace, like most others, will wait until after the draft to sign. Players don't want to sign with a team at this point that could turn around and draft somebody that will bump them off.
