  1. How about Golisano teams up with Bob Rich, and buys the Tampa Bay Rays instead? They have a very good front office, a good to very good pitching staff, a decent farm system, and one of the best managers in baseball. They have a cheap owner, and horrible attendance, never having been higher than 9th in the AL, even in their world series year. Perhaps Rich would balance out Golisano's penny-pinching, and the stadium could easily be converted to 35-40 thousand seats, as it was designed to be expanded. I know, just a fantasy, but the Rays are only worth 330 million, while the Dodgers may go for 1 billion +. I think people in Buffalo would go nuts for big time baseball- we still hold all the attendance records for the minor leagues. Just a thought- flame away!
  2. leianni lei, in a Thurman Thomas jersey.http://www.leannilei.org/pg2/k4.bmp. nice off season distraction- football is wonderful, but let's keep our priorities straight
  3. I'm 51, had ACL and meniscus surgery in april 3 years ago, and was back to work six weeks later. I'm a chef, and on my feet 12-14 hours a day. No HGH. Some people just heal faster than others, and some folks just work harder. I'd put my money on Welker being a little bit of both.
  4. My point exactly- go find me a team in either the NFL or NHL that has improved their jersey since reebok started making them. IMO, reebok (and nike) do a crappy job of designing jerseys. Teams should design their own jerseys, and let reebok come up with innovations to make them lighter , more comfortable, etc. And a jersey shouldn't change just for the sake of change; the Yankees, Canadiens, Colts, etc have no problem selling jerseys that haven't changed substantially in over 50 years. If you have a good looking jersey, and a team that is competitive most years, you'll sell plenty of merchandise. Any new jersey, no matter how ugly , will sell. The buffaslug proved that. It's often just a gimmack for a bad team to sell product. The trick is to come up with a design that will endure.
  5. Actually, there have been some votes, including the uniwatch web site, and the Bills were last, or next to last in every vote. When I wear my Bills jersey out on sundays to a sports bar, most fans of other teams don't even know what team I support- could you say that about the Packers, Niners, Steelers or even the *Pats, as ugly as they are. Not only are the Bills jerseys ugly, they have no identity. They look like a basterdized hybrid of Denver and Tennessee, with the worst features of each. They're as bad as the buffaslug jerseys. Both are designed by reebok; conincidence? I think not. Reebok loves the strange swoops, stripes and oddities that identify the modern uniform. Just make the bills throwbacks the new jersey, home and away. Beautiful, classic and unlike anyone elses, in a good way. If we need a throwback we can use the original 60-61 navy and silver. As for the Sabres, go back to the original- I can live with the darker shade of blue, but please, no gray, no odd pinstripes- why does every new jersey have to look like it was designed to appeal to 12 year olds?
  6. I hope the Raiders aren't that bad -7 to 10 victories would be great. Remember, the *pats get their first round choice (the Seymour deal). The last thing I want to see is Belichek picking first, or worse, trading down for another 4 or 5 picks
  7. He was the Clemson offense in the ACC title game. We've got to keep him healthy- speed is such a big part of his game, 20 touches a game might be just right combined with Marshawn and Freddy. Anyone else notice how fugley those Clemson Unis are? Purple and orange? CJ will feel right at home in the Bills clown costumes
  8. ...and I'm sure I'm not the only chump who got burned on that one. Does anyone know of a company that makes nameplates for jerseys? I sure would like to convert mine to a Spiller jersey.
  9. yeah, gotta love sending all my money to china. god forbid you buy an nfl jersey here in the U.S.
  10. God, I still cannot believe we spent 4 years dealing with his piss poor coaching and the number of people that actually defended him. No s*@t! I was actually pissed at Ralph for firing him last year- if you're stubborn (or stupid) enough to bring that clown back again, let him finish out the season and get a great draft position. Without the temporary lift the team got from Fewell, I think it's possible they could have gone 3-13, or at best 4-12. And Ralph could have saved a few bucks
  11. C'mon- this is just silly. Lynch is a two-time 1,000 yard rusher who made some mistakes. Russell hasn't done squat and may never live up to his potential. Lynch is a guy from the mean streets of Oakland who hopefully has cut the ties to his homies. I think the new staff is willing to give him a second chance, and if they are, so should we. He was probably hurt and angry about his demotion last year, and didn't handle it well. If Gailey can develop a relationship with him, and some trust, maybe he can turn his career around. I'd rather try this than a mediocre QB (we've got some of those already) or a low round draft pick.
  12. LOL- maybe not the thing to say on national TV, but that's how people talk.Pretty funny
  13. Now if the Pats would just trade Kevin Faulk....
  14. Get erdone, buddy. Good Insurance for Wood, could enable Wood to move to center
  15. Most of us didn't- but anyone would have suffered in comparison to Jim Kelly. Flutie may have been an arrogant little p**ck, but he had the heart of a warrior. A non-traditional type of QB,much like, dare I say...Tim Tebow?
  16. Great! Another Bills fan in Thailand. I won't get back until November- let's get together and watch Tim Tebow next season
  17. Of all the cuts, the only one to raise any eyebrows would be Wendling- the others are guys who just didn't/can't contribute enough outside of special teams to justify keeping them. I'm pretty sure our two special teams coaches would have been part of the process on who to cut- obviously Wendling et al, just weren't good enough special teamers to keep, unlike a Tasker or a Mark Pike. Or Maybe Chan just doesn't value special teams as much as some coaches.
  18. Here in Thailand, I get 2 American football games a week, (at 1:00AM and 4:00AM!), and what must be at least two dozen "football" games, plus multiple repeats of those games. Lord knows, I've tried watching, but man,it's painful stuff. And they add extra time to the game at the end of Regulation!!! On the bright side, They haven't shown any Bills games in a couple of years, so I've been able to miss the Jauron era
  19. Been to a Green Day show lately? "Shout" has been on their set list for years, maybe they think it's just a good, rowdy rock and roll song. What about Green Day for the SB show? They could perform "American Idiot" and dedicate it to Jerry Jones, Dan Snyder and Roger Goodell
  20. +1! And lose the navy blue- for 40 years royal blue was our identifying color. Why did whitey decide it was no longer good enough?
  21. LOL- When they announced they were hiring the former headcoach of Dallas, did you think it was Jimmy Johnson? Or Tom Landry?
  22. Arizona seems to have resigned themselves to being unable to keep him- do you think they would take Lee Evans and a third (or fourth) from next year for Bolden? We would be getting a productive, tough red zone threat who, unlike Lee, can catch the ball in traffic and against double coverage. I don't think sharing the ball with Owens would be a problem since he's already managed to co-exist with Larry Fitzgerald. Thoughts?
