The incident that finally caused my friend to walk away the police arrested him. Despite the fact he had locked himself in the bathroom and called the police.

It really is terrible and all too common. I am a counselor and I haven't had any male clients who have dealt with this to this extreme, but I have definitely had talks and planned things out with a few who were concerned about a relationship escalating to this point.

  2. I had a professor who was studying abusive relationships where women were the abuser. I don't remember too much about his research other than how incredibly challenging it is for a man to be able to handle the situation. Cops get called? Guess who they are going to believe the majority of the time?

I guess the question is how much do you put any of this on Fluker? I mean aside from self-defense and a few other situations, I doubt his girlfriend could provide any justification for her actions I could find legitimate. Most people learn to use their words and not their fists by the age of thirteen apparently she thinks it's okay to act in this way because of "His" actions. Because he is a man, more people will probably say he need to do x, y or z instead of the fact that DV by anyone is unacceptable; I don't care who it is against.

Rule of thumb, but not always true, the "nicer" someone is the more at risk they are for a relationship like this. In trauma a person can very easily internalize the actions of others. He hit me because I made him mad. (As if anyone can make anyone else do something like that) Since we're humans and have empathy our mirror neurons cause us to feel what those around us feel. More empathy means stronger mirror neurons which means easier to feel responsible.

I didn’t even really love Tyrod either.  But Bills fans do this and it’s weird.  Tyrod was a solid starting qb and won more than he lost.  We did this with Flutie.

now Allen has essentially done a Tyrod impression and he is a future star while Tyrod is some bum.  It’s weird.

I think since Allen has been compared to Tyrod often times in a negative way it is easy for us Bills fans to be quite defensive of Allen when we see the amount of determination, grit and ascensions Allen has had. The problem though is that for many it seems to confound their memory of Tyrod that causes them to remember a lot more of the bad than the good. In addition to that, I would think for some the idea of praising Tyrod would feel like it is minimizing Allen's accomplishments/potential.

Jauron was better than both Gailey and Gregg Williams.  He did not have a QB and was given a ***** team with a crappy General Manager (Sorry Marv Levy!)

Mike Mularkey was better than Marrone nad Rex Ryan and Rex was better than Marrone.

Wade was saddled with a GM who was in his final legs with the Bills and wanted his own swan song.   Sean has got a lot going in his favor, especially a great front office and a non-meddling ownership.

Yeah, Jauron got to work with let's see, superstar Mike Gandy, Bennie Fowler, Losman/Edwards, Keith Ellison starting LB, starting RT Terrance Pennington who never started another game after that one year, Larry Tripplett, and infamous "43 is the Mike" Bryan Scott

I've never believed that Yoko broke up the Beatles.  But I don't think Linda did, either.  They ran their course, like many others do.

Even if Yoko is to blame, it's more on Lennon than her. Apparently he refused to let her out of his sight.

  6. If this is COVID related, I wonder to what extent being an NFL athlete is a risk. I know people who are obese are considered more at risk for the disease and while NFL athletes aren't obese, they will weigh more than non-obese non-athletes. Obviously their weight is due to being healthy, but I wonder if simply weighing more might be a bad thing for COVID.

  7. This is brought up a lot, McD's "conservatism". The Bills called pass to run plays of 48 to 30 in the Houston game, not sure how that is conservative. McD also has one of the highest go for it on 4th down, not sure how that is conservative either. Also the Bills averaged more yards on run plays than pass plays and that includes Allen's numbers boosted by that screen pass to Singletary. Sure there were some runs that boosted the overall YPC, but it seems like if there was a game to point to as McD being too "conservative" this is not the game to do that, If McD is that conservative in the first place.

Seems like people just assume because the Bills get leads and sometime loses that must mean their DC now HC must be conservative.

  8. Yeah so far, for Josh it is check down or win. We have had too many quarterbacks who will check down and not try to win, Trent Edwards and his infamous run out of bounds on 4th down with 2 minutes left as the most egregious.

Hopefully Josh will learn when checking down is helping him win while keeping his competitive nature.

Anti-Orton or more like the anti-Tyrod.  The only thing he had in common with Tyrod was his running ability, Tyrod was pretty spceial running for first downs.

Honestly if anything I'd say Josh is anti Trent Edwards.

Tyrod was conservative, but he also kept a lot of plays alive playing frogger in the backfield with defensive lineman. He also wants to start and prove he is capable, something our board has given him grief over.

Orton's infamous slide is sickening, however the dude definitely had some fire in him that you could see in other games.

In terms of fire and drive Trent would be the opposite of Allen.

Sorry but if you say "he is allowed this have his views leave him alone" you are basically admitting police brutality against blacks and other minorities is perfectly OK

Brees comments are utterly delusional and idiotic and he deserves all the hate coming towards him. he still can't understand that kneeling has nothing to do with the stupid american flag and freedom and whatever BS right wing fascists love to pretend they care about.

Wouldn't logically then the same people shouldn't respond in this thread/to those players as they should leave the people responding to Brees alone?

That's not even political, just a fact about how Brees was attacked with foul language and rage when his comment was neutral and not derogatory against any person or any specific race. Yet he is called out as racist by the media and other players.

I mean had you not included the term, "liberal line" I'd agree. If you had used something like, "PC line" or "the line others seem to want" I think it wouldn't be political at all.
