I dunno about that.  But like I said: from what I've seen, Po has been "solid".  In the Marshawn Lynch sense.

For some reason "game balls" didn't pull up the Rams thread, but Poyer has been listed by us for both the Jets and Dolphins game.

I dunno about "Poyer doing terribly" I haven't seen the Raiders all-22 but I thought he was solid before that.  Doing his job.  The problem has been in front of him IMHO.

Pretty sure there have other games this season where Poyer has been the one person that wasn't playing poorly for the D.

    A couple points on this:

    1) Historically 75% of 3-0 teams have made the playoffs (based on a chart I found that used data from 1990-2013). Of the ten 3-0 teams they measured as the worst, six made the playoffs, so 60%. Without checking DVOA you would have assumed 7 or 8 of those teams would have made the playoffs. It's a small sample size but the data is somewhat predictive there.

I don't think anyone here needs to go digging, but I wonder what that percentage would be if the 7th spot was included now that we have seven teams go to the playoffs instead of six.

People need to complain about something and it’s hard when they are undefeated. Now I agree the defense has not been up to its usual standard. But that’s been the case across the league. Perhaps the lack of tackling in the offseason and Lack of preseason film plus limited TC has impacted the defenses more than the offense. I’ll give it until mid season and see where we are. Until then I’m glad we finally don’t need to live and die on the performance of the defense and can let them get their bearings.

Not much to add except, as usual, I agree with your well thought out post.

Shaq reminds me of lil' Donte Whitner.  Got drafted too high, flashed in some games, disappeared in a bunch.

A decent pro, will be in it for a 10-ish year career.  He probably owes Rex a little money for the over-inflated Clemson factor.

That's a good comparison. I think Donte actually went to a probowl or two, however he also was drafted higher than Shaq.

I’ve been saying until I’m blue in the face, we can’t call McD “conservative” because he hasn’t had an offense.

All of you know-it-alls can stuff it in a sock.

People throw that term around to describe when the Bills lose a lead. Allen can go 0 for 3 on passing and people B word about McD being conservative.
