  1. I actually think a DB run is more likely than a WR run. Greedy, Murphy, Ya-Sin, even Adderley were all getting 1st round consideration. I suspect Cody Ford and Jawaan Taylor will be gone pretty quick too. It's very possible that with no trades AJ Brown goes to the 49ers and DK goes to us, which triggers the WR run.
  2. It's his size/speed combination. Even in the NFL, I can't think of a DB that matches up well solo. You've got guys that can keep up with him, but they aren't big enough to compete physically, and then you have guys who can compete with him physically, but they can't keep up with him. He's a medical risk and a projection, and that's why teams didn't jump earlier, but he's a very worthwhile project imo. Admittedly, Greedy had a very good game against him, but I do put part of that on the Ole Miss offense - unless they were content with DK occupying Greedy to open up everything else.
  3. I disagree - both with the Jimmy Johnson chart in 2019, and the premise. Look at the return on the trades up into the back end of the first last night. 37, 132, and 142 bought pick 30. 45 & 79 bought 31 & 203. If we wanted to move up from 74 into round 2 it would probably be something along the lines of 74, 131, & 147. That would be roughly in line with what we saw last night to pop up to the 55-60 range. If we wanted to keep 74, but get another day 2 pick then 112, 131, and 158 would likely get us another selection in the mid to late 3rd. Or we could see a combination. 74, 131, & 181 to the Chargers for pick 60. Then 112, 147, and 158 to the Ravens for 85. Obviously it would be player driven, but that's just one scenario.
  4. Is this tweet arguing that schools should be segregated? Nevermind. Too many negatives and not enough coffee...
  5. Walter & the site get a lot of flak, but Charlie has some legit sources and good intel. I hate their position rankings, but I do appreciate Charlie's mocks.
  6. I do think that John Brown has a chance to pull a Marquise Goodwin assuming he's given the reps, but I want DK. I'm legit salivating at the idea of lining up DK & Rob Foster outside with John Brown in the Slot. That is just incredible speed.
  7. I'm holding out hope that we trade for an additional 2nd rounder, but if we stand pat I think DK & Dawson Knox would be really nice.
  8. Agreed. If we are moving up tonight I don't think it will involve pick #40. If there are enough guys we want left on the board I could see trying to get another 2nd round pick though.
  9. With the fall he's having, is Taylor a Kouandjio situation?
  10. I don't know how they'll be as pros, but I think the Redskins got good value for them. If they were truly looking at moving into the top 10 to get Haskins then getting him without moving is a win. Sweat was in freefall and they moved up to grab him where they felt the value outweighed the cost. It was a pair of moves I can respect regardless of outcome.
  11. If anything I think we might try to convert some of our later picks into more picks tonight. Not sure other teams see the value there either though, so it could be tough.
  12. It was a shallow top end for sure, which is why I'm so elated that we got Oliver. Day 2 projects to be a strong day that has a lot of solid contributors.
  13. And to contrast, I thought the Redskins did very well. Coming away with Haskins without breaking the bank, and then the jump back up to snag Sweat.
  14. I'm not sure it could've played out much better for us. We pick 8th tonight. I know you listed your top 10 remaining, but there are much more than 8 good fits for us on the board. WR: DK Metcalf, AJ Brown, Hakeem Butler, JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Parris Campbell OL: Jawaan Taylor, Cody Ford, Dalton Risner CB: Greedy Williams, Byron Murphy, Rock Ya-Sin, JoeJuan Williams, Julian Love, Justin Layne S: Nasir Adderley, Taylor Rapp, Chauncey Gardner-Johnson EDGE: Jaylon Ferguson, Oshane Ximines TE: Irv Smith
  15. I whiffed on the first 3, so I ended up with 4 matches this year. Hock-Lions, Brown-Ravens, Jacobs-Raiders, and Harry-Pats*. I couldn't bring myself to let Oliver slide in a mock and get my hopes up. Quite pleased with the result and excited for tonight. I think they're going to get DK for Josh.
  16. Good call Kirbs. I definitely thought it was the clown show in Oakland. They weren't kidding either, Ferrell at 4 was a bit of a shock!
  17. Well, my mock this year was about the same as last year. 4 exact matches, 22 correct first round players, 11 correct player team pairings. But one of my exact matches was the Pats* taking N'Keal Harry. I thought DK would be gone too, but considering some of the crazy things that went on last night and who is still available I'm pretty excited for tonight!
  18. Yeah, there are ways to balance the value sheet without 74, but none of them feel reasonable to me. I don't think Atlanta wants 4 extra day 3 picks, nor do I think we want to give them all up. 112, 131, 147, and 181 are basically equal with 74 based on the Rich Hill chart. It just doesn't look normal though, feels like paying for a $20 shirt in quarters. 9, 112, 131, 147, & 181 for 14 & 45.
  19. Montez Sweat. Medical red flags paired with off field red flags.
  20. You can thank me rushing and Excel's propensity to autofill for that one @aristocrat and the colts are on the clock until 9:03
