We already did our volume signings last offseason. We will have much less roster turnover and more splash signings this year imo. And the way the formula works you just need to sign less than you let go. Considering the number of draft picks sticking around and that we have 9 picks next year I think in will be lower than out. We also need to look at extending some of the talent already on the roster.
There are guys out there who I believe would mesh better with Josh and our O than Daboll, but I'm also hopeful that Daboll can adapt his scheme some. In NE they tend to adapt from opponent to opponent, so it shouldn't be too foreign to him.
Considering I don't think we'll bring in many free agents this offseason, I could see offering a 3rd (guaranteed higher than any comp pick) and gambling on the comp pick we get back if he doesn't sign an extension.
With this week in the books I've also got Bridgewater at 14 (among starters). I've got Brissett at 7! Allen clawed back up to 20 in a down passing week overall.
Man, I definitely thought the question was if this is the best Pats* D ever. That could certainly be argued. No, they absolutely are not the best Defense ever.
Hokies win in 6 OTs and I think they finally found the future at QB. I mentioned Quincy Patterson a while ago here, well he finally got to show off a little! A 53 yard run to tie it at 31 and the prettiest throw I've seen in Blacksburg since I was a student to force OT.
