  1. I thought Thurman was the new D coordinator. No, but really, I don't understand why we didn't try to disrupt the short timing routes when it's mostly what they were taking.
  2. That's the last straw, let's do away with this sound once and for all!
  3. Chase Daniel is in KC now, it's either their Rookie Garrett Grayson or Luke McCown (who could really shine if he was only given a chance )
  4. That's true. I still don't see why you'd take your QB out of his element like they did Sunday, but I'm also not an NFL coordinator
  5. How often was Wilson asked to sit in the pocket and make full field reads instead of rolling out and moving the pocket? Yesterday's gameplan did not fit the pieces we have on offense, and we still somehow managed 32 points.
  6. And my response was that his focus was much more heavy on their defense than their offense. He should go back and watch more of their offense because his gameplan was awful for a QB with Tyrod's skillset yesterday.
  7. I would assume an offensive assistant, such as the OL coach, or the defensive assistant who knows what looks they want the defense to prepare for. I would also assume that the OC is specifically focused on installing the game plan for their offense against the opposing D, not on coordinating a mock look for the defense. However, I don't know the specifics of the 49ers organization, so if you know better please enlighten me.
  8. Somehow I doubt Roman watched nearly as much of their offense as their defense...
  9. Yeah, Rex just said he'd like Tyrod to step up in the pocket more instead of looking for an escape route. I'd like to see the tape though, because I felt like a lot of the pressure came from up the middle and stepping up wouldn't have helped.
  10. WIlson is 5'11" Taylor is 6'1"
  11. on the plus side, captain checkdown's YPA was 6.54 and Tyrod's is currently 8.92
  12. Maybe I'm overconfident, but I feel like run/pass option plays for Tyrod on a rollout would have solid success in those situations
  13. swap shorty for shorty? meh, whatever nets us Bress for the next couple years
  14. lets trade Cassel to Dallas for a pick and trade EJ to NOLA for injured Brees
  15. After 2 tough games our offense is ranked 5th in points per game (29.5), and 6th in points per play (0.492)!
  16. I feel like we really missed some opportunities by ignoring the portion of our playbook that contains the zone-read and the rollouts with pass/run options. Roman needs to watch some more Seattle tape and steal some of their waggle and rollout concepts
  17. Passers like Brees, Wilson, and now Taylor rely on open passing lanes and proper timing to be effective from the pocket. We're going to need to incorporate more plays that suit Tyrod than we did yesterday. Seemed like the gameplan once we got behind was to have Tyrod do his best Brady/Manning impression and read the entire field from the pocket. That doesn't suit our QB or our offense imo.
  18. Yep, gonna need a few waggles & rollouts to keep him comfortable. Our O really should be a mix of Seattle (zone-read, waggles, rollouts, pass/run options) & New England's (quick slants and crossing routes, safety valves in the flats) based on our personnel imo.
  19. If we're counting that as 'should have been intercepted' then Sammy should have caught that last ball that got tipped and picked. (FWIW I don't think either would have been easy catches)
  20. Isn't that what our skill positions are best at though?
  21. I definitely think after the pressure NE got in the 1st quarter that Tyrod started taking his eyes down earlier when he felt pressure instead of keeping them downfield. We needed to run some plays that had quick reads and easy completions to build some confidence back (like the start of the Indy game) instead of asking him to be Brady and read the entire field while under pressure.
  22. The last time he played the Pats* he threw for 150 yards and we put up 21 points. We really need to stop making up imaginary stats for players that aren't dressing for the games.
  23. might actually be prime position to grab one that's falling, or trade down for more picks (like the Bridgewater situation)
