  1. It allows more of the impact to be absorbed by the helmet which reduces the amount of energy transferred to the skull & brain, basically. I haven't been on that project for a couple years now, though. Here's a video about that exact design being tested when it came out: https://youtu.be/ahIQCy48Nuo?t=25s
  2. It's one of the best rated helmets based on the system that we are working on at Virginia Tech. Here's a ranking list for 2015, for reference. http://www.beam.vt.edu/helmet/helmets_football.php
  3. I think a big part of it is that we, as fans, actually see a genuinely talented roster for the first time in a long time. And the two losses we've had this year were among the most frustrating games I have ever watched (including VT games, which is saying something). We were constantly stepping on our own feet, which compounded into falling flat on our faces, and somewhere along the way to losing our balance we also shot ourselves in the foot.
  4. This also raises the question, while the personal fouls on the Defense are dumb and need to be eliminated, are the OL penalties the real issue? OL play directly led to 2 TDs being pulled off the board.
  5. I agree a bit with both of you. I think Tyrod has bought us the ability to pick our shots when it comes to drafting a QB instead of needing to reach on a prospect and overdraft. I would imagine this upcoming draft will have a focus on OL/BPA but they will keep their eyes on QB's they like in case any start to fall that they feel has good value.
  6. New coaches typically come with new QB's, and vice versa.
  7. I think the Jets are going to win between 7 and 9 games this year, so I'm not worried about a high pick for them. The Dolphins on the other hand....
  8. Here's an NFL.com article that asks 5 NFL executives who Jared Goff's NFL player comparison is. 5/5 said his comp is Matt Ryan.
  9. Bills - 31 Titans - 24
  10. Thanks! I thought I remembered that comparison, but I honestly couldn't remember. And yeah, I understand the slightly different eras. Just thought it was interesting.
  11. Didn't Seattle cut that kid who was filling in for Kam for them? Could be a decent rent-a-player
  12. Tyrod, our team's leading healthy rusher.
  13. ESPN's Power Rankings have us at #12 (Down 2)
  14. And the Titans were actually on bye too! Good call BF4E!
  15. Don't McNabb's career numbers compare pretty similarly to Jim Kelly's? I feel like I remember that being a take a few years back. The host put up McNabb's numbers next to Kelly's and asked which was the hall of famer and which wasn't.
  16. Regular Season he had 78 runs and 21 catches, postseason he had 45 runs and 20 catches
  17. If we really wanted a logo that struck fear into Americans it would be
  18. FWIW, in 2012 the Ravens led the league in penalties (by a fairly wide margin too) and they still turned out alright. That being said, we can't be taking 2 TDs off the board every week and getting baited into dumb personal fouls.
  19. Well Bryce is an FA still, so...
  20. True, he lost 2 fumbles on his 99 combined touches in the regular season. In the postseason he fumbled twice, but only lost 1 of them on 65 total touches.
  21. As long as Rambo isn't colliding with Darby it's all good.
  22. Yep, he'll sit it out until the offseason and hope to fill a HC vacancy.
  23. He also lost 2 fumbles in those 3 games
  24. Welcome, Fred Jackson is also injured at this point in the season...
