  1. How many passes should I throw out due to this by your estimation? For Sammy to catch up in Catch%, 33 of the 141 balls thrown his way would need to be completely uncatchable and 0 of OBJ's would have to qualify the same way.
  2. It's not entirely unreasonable, I'm just pointing out that OBJ is only getting 25% of the targets on his team and Cruz isn't even active his targets are up because they throw more than we do by a lot. Is 8 fine? Maybe, but that's not what he asked for. There will be games where numbers fluctuate like that, sure. It also probably matters that over their careers Sammy catches the ball 51% of the time he's targeted and OBJ catches it 67% of the time.
  3. Especially when the numbers are way off. He's either saying he needs about 40% all of our passes to go to him, or he's saying Roman needs to call 35+ passes per game instead of running so much. He's quoted saying OBJ gets 20 targets, OBJ has 52 targets on the year (just over 10 per game). And in order for OBJ to see that many targets Eli has already thrown 60 more passes on the year than Tyrod has. Clay and Harvin lead the team in targets and targets per game, but that's also including 2 games where Sammy was unavailable and Clay and Harvin were the main receiving weapons.
  4. OBJ is averaging just over 10 targets per game this season, but Eli is averaging over 39 passes per game. We average less than 28 passes per game. Also, to your last point, He's been out as long as both of our RB's
  5. I think I read somewhere that Atlanta is the only team to be 5-0 while losing at some point in the 4th quarter of all 5 games
  6. Here's a link to your query 1) Clay: 32 Targets, 5 games (6.4 per Game) 2) Harvin: 30 Targets, 5 Games (6 per Game) 3) Woods: 17 Targets, 5 Games (3.4 per Game) 4) Hogan: 13 Targets, 5 Games (2.6 per Game) 5) Watkins: 13 Targets, 3 Games (4.3 per Game) 6) McCoy: 11 Targets, 3 Games (3.7 per Game) 7) Karlos: 7 Targets, 4 Games (1.75 per Game) Interestingly, Watkins also has the lowest Catch % of any of our players with 5 or more targets per those stats, but he also has the highest yards per catch of the same group.
  7. Or maybe he pulled a Goodell and tried to do something after the response was iffy. It would seem he either wasn't happy with the final cut or he wasn't happy with the way the highlights were spun. Either way I bet he thinks twice before going to reporters for this stuff, especially Dunne specifically.
  8. The only issue with the Hopkins comparison is that Houston's WR2 would be our WR4. Still, let's get our dynamic playmakers the ball.
  9. Yeah, he obviously needs to be part of the progression. And isn't our OC supposed to be a mastermind of manipulating motions and shifts to force mismatches?
  10. Or it means we're going to throw a few picks because we're forcing the ball to Sammy in double coverage, we'll see in due time!
  11. Makes sense, Cunningham and Tyrod are the only two that come up when I query all players from 1960 to 2015.
  12. Maybe I'm bad at pro football reference, but when I run the query I only see 2 players
  13. Kordell Stewart? Maybe Antwaan Randle El?
  14. One of these days we'll get a true slash performance and he'll have a Passing TD, Rushing TD, and Receiving TD
  15. They lost $1M and 2 draft picks, they weren't exonerated.
  16. I suppose that accounts for the extra 40 yards he had in the pro matchup haha
  17. Gilmore and Green faced off once in College and once in the Pros. In both games Green had 6 catches and a TD.
  18. It's part of a government conspiracy to keep you alive longer so you can pay more taxes
  19. If our secondary is: CB: Gilmore, Darby Nickel: Robey SS: Graham FS: McKelvin I'd be pretty fine with it
  20. Dion Lewis fumbled twice in his first two games. I guess they were on pass plays?
  21. His. It's ultimately a coaches decision that will likely come Friday, possibly as late as Sunday if the report puts Tyrod as questionable.
  22. Yeah, again, I'm not saying EJ can't do it. I just think the what ifs are rather lofty. I think it'd be a good day for EJ if he goes 18/24 for 220 and a TD or 2. That's more where my expectations are at.
  23. For me all of the concern and hope is dependent on our trio of ?'s at the skill positions. For our offense to be effective we really need a legitimate running threat, and Sammy opens up so much in the passing game.
