- Can you name me a QB that has a winning record against NE over the past 15 years? I honestly can't think of one. Flacco may be close. - As were many QB's that are considered good to franchise quality. - Tyrod has not said anything about the defense. He said he will continue to focus on what he can control, and that is preparing for 2016. Do not confuse a player's agent with a players themselves. - Why has NE spent so many picks/roster spots on QB's in the last decade? They've had Tom Brady the whole time!

Crystal Ball: Top Prospects for 2016 NFL Draft

I'm definitely leaning more towards LB/OT depending on what is available -
Lets go all in on knee injuries like Chip Kelly last year! Myles Jack at 19 and Jaylon Smith at 49!

I still don't see much about Rex's scheme and why it doesn't match up with today's offenses, but okay. W's & L's have a lot more associated with them than just defensive scheme so maybe you want to shift your argument. You're basing the 2014 Jets defense on one poor performance in a game that got postponed and moved to a different location. That's fine I suppose, I just don't agree with it. And our defense last year struggled in it's first year in a new system without many changes to the personnel. I can't say I'm surprised by that, but maybe you bought into the Rex hype and now you just feel burned by it. Anyway, crusade on. I definitely don't understand it, but I suppose I can respect it. -
- There are a lot of QBs that struggle against NE. NE is kind of good. Also, cannot? Really? He's 0-2, but that doesn't mean he's going to be 0-30. - He missed 2 games due to an injury suffered by an illegal tackle that was made illegal because it tends to cause injuries. - All players ask for more than they are worth, it's called negotiations. - He's 8-6 as a starter and had several stats in the top 10 of the league in his first year as a starter and his first year in Roman's system where he split reps all offseason with 2 other QBs trying to earn his place. Rate him where you please based on those facts. - Baltimore had no say in the matter. Their options to keep Tyrod were to trade Flacco and his $100M contract, cut Flacco and his $100M contract, or Franchise Tag their Backup QB for ~$19M guaranteed. - Tyrod Taylor 6-1 weight 215, missed 2 games due to injury in 2015; Joe Flacco 6-6 weight 245, missed 6 games due to injury in 2015; Ben Roethlisburger 6-5 weight 240, missed 4 games due to injury in 2015 Those are the facts.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, and I definitely think it is a good discussion point. As far as the QB mobility and quick passes I don't really think it is a scheme issue as much as a personnel issue. The scheme can remain unchanged, but the LB/S line will become more blurred as you introduce more athleticism to the positions. Just my opinion, anyway. -

Did the defense play offense too? That defense ranked 6th in the NFL. You consistently pop into threads and drop this nonsense about how Rex's system is antiquated and will never work again, but you never back your point up with anything substantial. It is a tired bit and you should consider putting it to bed. -

How is a scheme that only 2 years ago ended up 6th in the NFL, despite a void of talent in the secondary, antiquated? -
I don't know that he'll last until 19, but I do like him. He's definitely too light for his frame, but NFL workout programs have a way of fixing that. He'll need to get by on his pass rushing ability early on while he's figuring out the OLB position in the NFL, but I think he ceiling is Jason Taylor.

Hopefully there are 18 teams that feel that way and they are all drafting before us.

I think Bills are planning a move up in the draft
BuffaloHokie13 replied to Dragonborn10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Are you implying that if we don't trade Tyrod then there are no other QBs in existence? Why can't we roll with the guy who went 8-6 last year and draft someone to sit and groom behind him for at least a year? -
Titans Trade #1 Overall Pick to the Rams
BuffaloHokie13 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This all came about because Goff made a public play for Taylor Swift's attention. Showed he had the stones to play the position at the highest level -
nah, just ran one to see. Liked the results, but I'll wait 'til it's updated EDIT: Fanspeak now lists LA as the 1st overall selection, so I'm guessing it updated

I like his picks for the Jets for our team better than his picks for us. Hargreaves III, Noah Spence, and Josh Perry? Sign me up. -
So because they won games he was the one leading?

Pointing out that W/L, Bowls, Conference Championships all mean very little when it comes to individual player assessment. I'm trying to understand why you used them to make your point about him being good and/or threatening on the Pats* roster. EDIT: As to why I used Tyrod, A) He's a player most on this board recognize, and B) I knew most of his stats without looking them up because I was there and I am lazy.
-
I may be slightly off as I haven't looked anything up, but I believe our current QB was 32-7....an Orange Bowl ('08)....a Chick-Fil-A bowl ('09)... 3 ACC Championships ('07, '08, '10)... and a team captian. He was still a 6th round pick.

Which QB do you want the Bills to draft?
BuffaloHokie13 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I like Cardale a lot in a run heavy, play-action system. He just isn't an Urban Meyer style QB. -
