List of Bills QBs during the Desolation
Artful Dodger replied to foreboding's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have to think things would have been different if the Bills had the sense to start Gibran Hamdan, the best Pakistani QB in NFL history, back in 2008. -
Highest inflation since...
Artful Dodger replied to Unforgiven's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
In January, Congress passed a $1.9 trillion stimulus to fill a $600 billion hole in GDP. Not only did the bill stimulate demand, but it extended enhanced unemployment benefits which have encouraged people to stay home rather than go back to work. So they simultaneously goosed demand and restricted supply. Not surprisingly, we're getting inflation. And the chuckleheads at the Federal Reserve have been pouring gas on the fire. Inflation is already much higher than they expected, and they continue to print money to buy treasury bonds and mortgage backed securities and continue to keep short term interest rates at 0%. There are no grownups making economic policy in Washington right now. We're all paying the price, literally. -
Bi-Partisan Infrastructure Deal!
Artful Dodger replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Biden nearly scotched the infrastructure deal just a few hours after all parties agreed to it by tying it to the budget reconciliation bill. Then the next day he had to walk that back. That was a very Trump-like maneuver. It pointlessly complicated matters, and it accomplished nothing. There must be something in the White House water that makes its occupants stupid. -
This is a simple Poll. Will Josh Allen regress?
Artful Dodger replied to PrimeTime101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's bound to regress a little. Even the best qb's don't play at an MVP level every year. However, in his career, he'll have at least a few more years like the last one. If he doesn't regress and he plays every year like he did last year, he'll be in the running to be among the best of all time. -
Anyone wondering who Booker T is rooting for?
Artful Dodger replied to Whkfc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He's rooting for Green Onions. -
Two Cheers for the Deep State and Elitism
Artful Dodger replied to The Frankish Reich's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Our constitutional system held up remarkably well, but the forces that elected Trump are not going away. There's an ever widening gap between regular people and the elites. It manifests itself in big ways - in economic ways such as ever increasing inequality in wealth and income. And in smaller stupider cultural ways - one of Speaker Pelosi's first moves after the Democrats retained control of the House was to ban the use of gender specific pronouns. Or the insistence on calling Hispanics "LatinX." The so called "elites" are increasingly out of touch. The conditions that allowed Trump to flourish and get elected were brought about by mismanagement of the elites. If Biden doesn't manage to close that gap, and hopefully he's the right man for the job, there's going to be another populist in four years; a smoother, more plausible version of Trump. He could be on the right, or he could be on the left, or maybe both. But he's coming. -
It's SCIENCE! The same science that apparently told him he should keep the stadium closed during the season, but now that case levels are at unprecedented highs around the country, tells him its OK to open. If it's OK to open now, it was OK to be open during the regular season. The next time the governor starts waving the banner of science, people should throw it right back in his face, which is what this petition is all about. Or maybe the governor has worked out a deal with COVID not to spread during football games.

Bills 17th game next season vs. Washington
Artful Dodger replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or we could meet them in the Superbowl on February 7. 🤣 -
It's way too early to say, but due to his mobility issues, I'm not sure Kelly would have thrived so much in the modern era, but with his arm and his accuracy this year, Allen would have thrived 30 years ago. Both QB's have that intangible will to win that makes quarterbacks great. Let's just hope that Allen doesn't turn back into a pumpkin.

What to do in 2 meaningless (?) games
Artful Dodger replied to Artem Lipatov's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The regular season won't be complete unless the Bills kick the living !#$% out of New England. 62-3. -
25 long years ago! I was 40! 😢 😁
Artful Dodger replied to 60’s Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah. I was 30, and a few years ago I was beginning to doubt whether I would live to see the Bills make the playoffs again, much less be contenders. The current Bills' team was worth the wait and I think they're as good as some of the Bills' teams which made it to the Superbowl 30 years ago. -
Sean McDermott Mic'd Up Chargers Game
Artful Dodger replied to Mark Vader's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I counted 81 claps in 2 minutes before I got too exhausted to count anymore. His longest extended period of clapping was 19 after a defensive stop; his shortest was just a single clap. -
Is the NFL Better than Ever Today?
Artful Dodger replied to May Day 10's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Instant replay has significantly reduced my enjoyment of the game. The refs are afraid to make calls, and it slows everything down. Some human error is OK as long as it's distributed fairly. It also gives fans stuff to complain about. -
The clean shaven look is a big improvement. But quarterbacks should look like Johnny Unitas.

The Georgia Runoff--So Big!
Artful Dodger replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The top two Republicans had around 45% of the vote. Below the presidential level, there was a lot of unexpected Republican strength probably to counteract the perceived nuttiness of the left wing of the Democratic Party, so this it will be an uphill battle for the Democrats to win both Senate seats. Even if they do, it will be 50/50, and conservative Democratic Senators like Joe Manchin in West Virginia might break away from the party on some of their more controversial ideas such as packing the courts or eliminating the filibuster.
