  1. He had the best sense of comic timing this side of Jack Benny. This makes me sad, and I will miss him.
  2. Here's my encomium to Musk. Musk is easily the most consequential man of this age. He's both a brilliant engineer and a brilliant businessman, and he will be remembered in a hundred years, long after a politician like Joe Biden is forgotten and mentioned (if at all) in the same breath as Millard Fillmore. He's also capable of turning a phrase. "Woke mind virus" pithily sums up the insanity that has infected the progressive left over the last ten years. As an immigrant, it's likely that he can see more clearly what's happening in the US than many of the rest of us who are like the proverbial frogs in water that's gradually being heated to a boil. Having said all that, he ought to gradually withdraw from the political arena and focus on building rockets and reinventing the automobile industry. That's where his genius lies. Everything else is just a distraction. He can, of course, buy a Twitter and change it into a platform for free speech but should not talk about why he's doing it. He can move his companies out of California but should not publicly announce why. He's become a major target for the Left, and the administrative state has begun to go after his companies - currently seven federal agencies are investigating Musk and his companies. For example, the FCC recently revoked a 2020 award to Starlink - an award that the company secured after agreeing to provide high-speed internet service to rural homes and businesses. Starlink has been successful; there is no other company capable of providing those services. But the Biden Administration would rather punish Musk than to provide high speed internet service to the people who need it. Also, all the many left-leaning voters who love electric cars but also make their buying decisions based on their politics now have choices other than Tesla. In other words, politics have begun to hurt his business interests. It's not that he can't defeat these groups that are trying to kneecap him, but he should keep his eye on the ball. The problem is that Musk likes drama too much, and he likes mixing it up in the public arena, and that's a distraction.
  3. He ought to choose a governor who has executive experience and who has run a large government before. That would suggest DeSantis, Youngkin, and Burgum.
  4. According to Cheatle herself, her main priority is to "attract diverse candidates and give opportunities to everybody in the workforce, particularly women." That's fine, but the main purpose of the Secret Service ought to be protecting the president and presidential candidates.
  5. We've found another living and breathing rebuttal to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. Her name is Kimberly Cheatle, and she's the head of the Secret Service. Her previous job was Senior Director of Global Security at Pepsi.
  6. Probably not much. The shooter was a 20-year old kid who has never voted in a presidential election. Since Pennsylvania has a closed primary system, he might have registered as a Republican in order to vote against Trump in the primaries. We also know that he contributed to ActBlue, an organization that raises money for Democratic candidates.
  7. The perfect rebuttal to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is Vice President Harris.
  8. Just to troll him, the real Josh Allen should change his name to Joshua Hines-Allen as well.
  9. Until Allen wins something, Mahomes should be considered the better quarterback. Once the Bills win the Super Bowl, the narrative will change.
  10. This is pretty clear evidence that Biden isn't in charge of his own administration. It probably also explains the general mediocrity or worse of Biden's cabinet; Biden either won't or more likely can't call them out on their weak performances and mistakes. Any competent administrator would have fired the Homeland Secretary Mayorkas years ago.
  11. Well, that was embarrassing. 1. I wonder who has been running the country for the last three plus years. It wasn't that man we saw on stage last night. 2. This probably explains why Biden ran as a centrist and his administration has governed from the progressive left. He's not the one doing the governing. 3. All of that video of Biden wandering off the stage and shaking hands with no one wasn't a right-wing conspiracy. it was real, and the media has been covering it up This is why it's important to report the actual news in an impartial and balanced manner. 4. You have to wonder about the honesty of the various Democratic leaders who have been insisting that Biden is OK and competent to govern the country. 5. Why has no one in the Biden Administration thought to invoke the 25th amendment?
  12. It takes the NFL further away from its history, and the chains work just fine. If they go ahead with this, as usual with things of this nature, it will probably slow the game down as the NFL seeks precision at the cost of entertainment. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do something.
  13. Enjoy the wins. When they lose, don't get worked up. Keep your distance.
  14. As far as heartbreaking Bills' losses, this wasn't even in the top 10.
  15. It wasn't as if the Bills were going to be able to stop Mahomes and the Chiefs. He probably figured they had to score to keep up.
  16. I am too. That's why I am going to get very, very drunk tonight.
  17. I almost won the SB as the Bills on Madden but as it was getting near the end of the 4th quarter, my computer inexplicably caught on fire.
  18. For your mental health, it's important to keep your emotional distance from the Bills. Expect them to lose in the most horrible and inexplicable ways. Celebrate when they win. Otherwise, they'll rip your heart out. Sincerely, -A fan since 1973
  19. The only way to is teach Josh Allen to catch his own passes. And play linebacker. And maybe kick his own field goals. Keep Shakir, though. He's pretty good.
  20. Cook, off left tackle for three yards.
  21. "Silence Jim Nantz!" That's the funniest line in a very funny commercial. The evil transformer really sells it.
  22. I expect that when something works, unlike Dorsey, he'll keep doing it. I expect that when the other team has a known defensive weakness, unlike Dorsey, he'll try to exploit it. I expect that lost look on Allen's face when he's sitting on the bench between three-and-out and punts to go away.
  23. The thing that most confused me about Dorsey is that as soon as something worked, he would immediately do something else. In the Cinci game, on the first drive, they had a lot of success with an uptempo, no-huddle offense, so of course they went away from that for much of the rest of the game. Then, when time was nearly out and they had to drive the ball down the field quickly, they did, easily. I could never figure out what was going on in the guy's head.
  24. As a 40-year Bills' fan, eventually I figured out that the best way to be a successful fan is to keep your emotional distance from the team. Look for the best; expect the worst. Celebrate when they do well, but don't let the team rip out your heart, because you know they will. So if they're on a roll and something inexplicable happens, like the coaches play prevent defense to allow the other team to drive the ball 50 yards in 13 seconds, or a player dies on the field, or via a stupid penalty the Bills allow a redo on a missed field goal to lose a game, I go into chill mode immediately.
  25. Remember that the last time he celebrated in the Bengals game by pointing to a player on the other team, the refs immediately threw a flag on him.
