Who should replace Gruden on MNF?
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe it's just me, but CBS is a way better job than MNF. Who knows what's going to happen with ESPN / MNF. With CBS Romo can do golf if he wants to and is in the Super Bowl rotation. -
Lamar Jackson Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
Chuck Wagon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
Related but unrelated, I'm surprised McDermott wants to be so ball controlled, west coast after spending almost his entire career around Cam and Donovan McNabb. -
Lamar Jackson Declares for the 2018 NFL Draft
Chuck Wagon replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in College Football
If he's available when we get on the clock I take him in a heartbeat. His passing stats aren't all that different than everyone's surefire prospects in Darnold and Rosen and that's not including the athletic ability to run for 3,000 yards the last two years. Honestly I think there's a little "Deshaun Watson" microscope on his game, he's been under a massive spotlight for a year and a half to the point people just pick out his warts. I feel better about him than Mayfield, to say the least. -
The biggest thing that bothers me is Wisconsin and Auburn played themselves out of the playoffs in a game Bama didn't have to play. If Delany knew the Buckeyes had no chance to make the playoff with a win and just canceled the B1G title game, declaring Wisconsin the 12-0 champ, does Bama jump them as they both sit idle? The lack of consistency from the committee is the most concerning, the things that they quoted as putting Ohio State above TCU and Baylor in 2014 they threw out the window just 3 years later. Why do the Buckeyes get punished for playing an extra conference game and a big non-conference game when Bama plays Mercer in the meat of the schedule? Iowa was a disqualifying loss, but had the Buckeyes torched Kansas in week 2 instead of losing to Oklahoma, they are in. If the committee is just going to know "we know they are among the top 4 most talented teams", then Bama gets in every year automatically.

Saban has made their entire conference bow at his feet, he graduated from an Ohio MAC school, had his first head coaching job at an Ohio MAC school and his first big time job was with a B1G school. Dan Mullen owes everything to Urban. Joe Moorhead is from B1G country. Gary Pinkel is as MAC as they come.

I know it may seem rich, and I'm biased, but I would love to see us use one of our two firsts on Billy Price. Plug him in at RG until Wood is ready to move on and slide him to C.

Does the Miami rivalry still matter?
Chuck Wagon replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I grew up during Kelly - Marino. I hate the Dolphins. But I believe NFL rivalries are fluid. Tough to have a true rival when there aren't real stakes. -
What QB do you want to draft.

If the Bills draft someone better than Watson, we'll ALL be happy campers. -
He would get another HC job easily.

What’s most important to a successful offense?
Chuck Wagon replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
1) Atlanta scored WAY more points than we did in 2016. Your first point is nowhere near true. 2) St Louis upgraded their LT and C in FA and drafted Kupp. Goff was universally viewed as the #1 pick in the 2016 draft and is in year 2. Saying St Louis just took our castoffs isn’t true either. 3). Obviously coaching and QB play is extremely important. We need to be better at both. -
ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.
Chuck Wagon replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We haven't had a QB for 20 years. I like Cousins, but he wouldn't be anywhere near the market if he was a "can't miss". We have an extra 1 and a extra 2. It certainly wouldn't wreck our franchise depth to lock a young QB into a 5 year deal AND sign a guy like Cousins and it would give us multiple chances at finally solving the problem. -

Give Cousins a blank check and draft Allen or Lamar Jackson if they are available with our first pick, otherwise take a guy like Rudolph / Falk / Ferguson / Lock in round 3. -
Kelly vs Marino -- Bills dominance
Chuck Wagon replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Looking at old Miami Dolphins stats brought up names of guys I hated, Karim Abdul-Jabbar, Oronde Gadsden, Lamar Smith. Then I got to 2000 and rage quit. I remember Thurman playing for them, yet somehow I blocked it out of my memory. Yuck. That 2000 offseason, at least Bruce had something left, kind of sad Thurman and Andre were washed up yet wore different uniforms for a year (or parts of a year). -
I think Jacksonville has a legitimate chance at taking the AFC this year and it would be UGLY if we played them. Their D is legitimately the best in football and they've got offensive playmakers coming out of the woodwork.

The “Billsiest” way for the season to end
Chuck Wagon replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Would not be the worst case scenario. If the Bills lose out and the Chiefs lose out, we could still be picking twice in the 12-15 range. -
The “Billsiest” way for the season to end
Chuck Wagon replied to stevestojan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nah, the most Bills way would be dominating Miami on Sunday, getting smoked by the Pats in week 16 but still getting all the help we need to be in a "win and you are win" week 17 game, where we lay a complete egg and Miami beats us 9-3. -
Todd McShay 2018 Mock Draft 1.0
Chuck Wagon replied to essential's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A lot of smoking coming out of Cleveland about Mayfield already. Cowherd (yeah yeah, I know) was speculating that Rosen and Darnold have let it float they are either coming back to school or outright telling the Browns not to draft them. I would have to believe if the options are Cleveland or the Giants, Rosen or Darnold would be pushing HARD to get to New York. With Dorsey saying he's eyeing immediate contention, I could really see the Browns trading for Alex Smith, putting their top pick up for auction for anyone who wants to jump the Giants ( Denver / Washington / Jets / Cardinals / Miami could all be in play), and developing both Mayfield & Kizer behind Smith. I just don't know that we have the fire power to get up to #1, it's one thing to drop to ~8 and still get a "blue chip" prospect, it's quite something else to drop to ~16, I would have to imagine it would take both our 1sts / 2019 1st / + more to begin the conversation. At the risk of getting flamed, one looks like Tyrod, the other looks like most of the posters here. I was all about Watson last year, I want nothing to do with Mayfield. -
Should Mc-Bean Pull a Whale-y of a Deal ??
Chuck Wagon replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I fully expect Darnold to return to school. If we are able to trade our pick, KC's pick and a future pick for Rosen I do it without thinking about it. Not willing to trade picks for any of the other QBs. Fully plan on downing a bottle of bleach if they draft Mayfield. -
I'm team Rosen, but I'm happy with either guy, however I don't expect a chance at either of them. Even if we have pick 16 and 19 it's going to likely take next years 1st and maybe more to get into the top 3.
