  1. Just think how different things would be if we traded with the Texans instead of Chiefs. We could be looking at just a 2nd or even 3rd to go up from #4 and make sure we get Darnold or Rosen.
  2. This is the type of playoff game the Pats lose (when they do lose), a defense that can hit Brady in the mouth repeatedly and an offense that can grind out yards and control the clock. That being said, I could see the Pats jumping out to a 10-0 or 14-0 lead and the game being over.
  3. I just don't think you can use "rules" on QB prospects. If you follow the completion percentage bible and Parcells commandments then Luke Falk is destined for Canton.
  4. Big Ben was awesome in college as well. Easily better than Russell.
  5. Eli finished at 60% for his college career and was under 60% 2 of his 4 years. Vick was at 56%, I'd say he was successful in the NFL. Matt Ryan was under 60% for his college career. Tom Brady was at 61% for his career.
  6. This is not the draft to go D-Line. Next year's draft is absolutely stacked at D-Line, 4 guys from Clemson, Nick Bosa, Rashan Gary, Ed Oliver. Next year's defensive line crop may be the best ever. Kiper's early mock drafts are always WAY off. In fairness, it's a tough thing to do 6+ months in advance. But early in the process guys throw out random stuff to get clicks before the consensus narrows in around draft time. That being said, I have heard from several places that Cleveland is enamored with Allen.
  7. Bingo. Just win. Their biggest games were also his worst games. I really don't care about numbers in the Big 12, but when you play your 3 worst games of the year against your 3 best opponents, that's a red flag.
  8. Which I completely understand. If you aren't putting Jackson into an offense that utilizes his skills, he's not the right pick. I just think Rudolph has had NFL talent in a wide open league and has consistently underwhelmed.
  9. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I just don't believe Rudolph has the arm talent to succeed in Buffalo and having guys like Washington / Ateman / Carson, I'm not sure there's a QB who did less with more than Rudolph.
  10. Best player in college football doesn't automatically mean #1 pick. Hell, there's been years where guys who had minimal impact in college football get drafted top 10 because they had impressive combine numbers.
  11. Insightful. At least you didn't say "He's just like Tyrod".
  12. Jackson. Has been the best player in college football the last 2 years.
  13. I wouldn’t give anything more than a 5th for him. KC has to either trade him or cut him as it seems they are moving to Mahomes. He’s on an expiring contract and clearly not a long term answer. If someone outbids a 5th, there’s a guy like Bradford or Chase Daniels available that can bridge to a young QB. Anyone giving up a 3rd rounder or more is crazy IMO. A 3rd rounder is still viewed as a guy who will be a major contributor if not an immediate starter. There really isn’t all that much talent difference from guys who go in the 20s vs guys who go round 3.
  14. Case Keenum / Allen Robinson / Paul Richardson.
  15. Would love Lewis. He’s an underrated key for the Pats, I’m not sure we’d be able to pull it off or they would let him go, but I think he can share the field with Shady in some packages and adding a rookie in round 3-4 would give us a very strong backfield.
  16. Because “l’ve heard of him”
  17. EVERY team has holes. The Patriots are the best team in football and they have a terrible D. The key is to be excellent in one area (going to get you to ~9 wins a year), but still able to adapt if you run up against a team that can take that area away. (the difference in 12-13 win teams). My primary concern with a young QB is the skill talent we have on hand. I just don't believe our receiving core as it stands it good enough to allow a young QB to successfully develop and if Shady does get hurt our offense is an absolute mess. Look at Goff and Wentz, Goff looked like a flat out bust while Wentz looked like he hit a rookie wall and was figured out halfway through the season. The Rams addressed coaching, offensive line and their receiver group and Goff took off, the Eagles also invested heavily in their receiver group and running backs, got Lane Johnson back healthy and Wentz was on his way to a MVP season before he was hurt. Trubisky is in a similar situation now, no skill talent outside of Howard / Cohen, you had better believe the Bears are going to address that on several levels this offseason. Having a QB on a rookie deal does allow you luxuries at other positions on the field with cap spending. Infrastructure is extremely important at the position and outside of the time under Rex, I'm not convinced our offensive talent has been good enough to allow a QB to develop over the last 2 decades. Our supporting offensive talent is not at a level that's going to allow any QB we can acquire to come in and be a dynamic difference maker, that needs to be addressed.
  18. Yep. In a way, we are really talking about giving up a 1st next year to get one of the top evaluated guys, if they got Tre White with pick #10 last year and he did what he did, we'd all be happy and they weren't going to resign Sammy, so getting a 2nd for him (plus Gaines) is bonus too. If the Browns / Giants / Colts aren't taking a QB with their pick, I think they would be crazy to not put the pick up for auction. Then it would come down to our extra picks being enough to overcome one of the top 3 just dropping to ~6th.
  19. Sell the farm for Darnold or Rosen. #21 / #22 / #56 / 2019 1st to move up to 1 or 2 (or 3). We simply haven't had anyone of their upside in over 2 decades. Sure, you'll occasionally hit a diamond in the rough, but the vast majority of "franchise" QBs are guys who were picked at the top of the draft. I would like to see us be aggressive in FA and sign Allen Robinson and one of Tyrell WIlliams / John Brown / Paul Richardson (all guys who can make plays down the field). That gives us a well rounded receiver group for the rookie: WR "#1" - Robinson Big Target - Benjamin Deep Threat - Williams, Brown or Richardson Slot- Zay Jones or Thompson It's a DEEP RB draft class, so use our 3rd or 4th round pick on a guy who can truly compliment Shady and really build some high quality weapons around the rookie QB.
  20. Hate: Pats / Dolphins / Cowboys / Giants / Redskins / Chiefs (irrationally, just think they are boring) / Browns ( I know, not worth hating) / kinda Titans / kinda Jags / I don't really hate the Jets, had a friend play for them Like: Always liked the falcons, thought their all black uniforms are pretty cool. I don't have a problem with any NFC team outside of the 3 in the East that beat us in SBs. Don't mind the Colts, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals, Raiders, Broncos
  21. I would be fine with taking the best 5 position players available when in rounds 1-3 with a QB to fight with Peterman in round 4 and a vet placeholder we sign (not trade for) opening the season.
  22. The irony is Benjamin was the type of guy they always needed when they had Woods / Watkins / Goodwin. They lose all 3 and then get the guy they were missing. The four of them together would be at the very top of the WR rankings.
  23. There simply aren't many guys, if any, who can keep the play alive long enough to scan the entire field. Watch any QB, even the great ones, where they are looking right after the snap is where the ball is going. A few guys (Wilson, Wentz) are able to keep the play alive to switch sides, but the idea of a big field general checking off 4 options before throwing the ball isn't reality.
  24. Benjamin should be a TE. He can't separate against elite cover corners and should be schemed to matchup on a linebacker or safety. A WR corps should be like a basketball team. Benjamin is the power forward. The small forward / shooting guard is the #1 WR and a guy we need. The PG is the slot WR, maybe Zay can take the spot, maybe not. Our other WRs are role players.
  25. Are Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce coming with him?
