  1. Hope we keep Gaines. Gaines and Davis are good injury insurance for each other, but if they are both healthy we'll be rolling out a very strong secondary.
  2. He's a guy I would be very interested in, but I'm not sure he'd be thrilled with being Shady's backup again. He's also a guy I think will surprise people how much he gets on the market, teams were trying hard to trade for him early last year and he's got some real believers around the league.
  3. He was completely marginalized in Jacksonville. He had a chance to be the primary backup due to injuries to Fournette and was ineffective. I'm leery on how much he has in the tank, but he's certainly not a guy commanding a big contract.
  4. So basically, ESPN thinks our QB is going to be one of: Cousins / Baker / McCarron / Lamar Jackson / Keenum or Foles
  5. I just don't agree with the premise. Unless I'm WAY off base on the price, I think after the trade last year, we've positioned ourselves to get one of the top 3 or 4 QBs in this class while still having two day 2 picks (the normal amount) and having our draft next year largely intact.
  6. Not if you have a turnstile at RT. Plenty of teams are lining their best pass rushers up against the RT, or whoever the weak point of the line is. It's been YEARS since we got strong play out of RT, I was under the impression Dawkins was drafted to shore up RT (they also pursued Ricky Wagner in FA) and it was happy accident he played well as a plug in at LT.
  7. Way to miss the point entirely. The famous Patriots scouting report went public. Several teams removed him from their draft board. I only say into the second round because there's no way Jerruh passes up bringing him to Dallas, but a good portion of the league saw him for the clown show he always was.
  8. This is exactly the reason he's going to fight a huge uphill battle to break back into the league. It's the same thing that did in Tebow. No franchise wants the guy just battling to make the roster be the reason ESPN sets up shop in your camp.
  9. That's just wrong. He had A LOT of skeptics. Had Haslam not fallen in love with the narrative he could have slid well into round 2.
  10. My initial point was once the Seahawks were paying Wilson / Lynch / Wagner / Sherman / Thomas / Chancellor their roster depth started to suffer (especially the oline) The Jags are likely as good as they are going to get, continued improvement from guys like Fournette / Ramsey could be offset by the decline of those expensive FAs. And they hitched their wagon to Bortles. If they were to sign Robinson, it would make Benjamin more of a rental. I really don't love the idea of paying Benjamin a big contract unless they get a little creative and treat him like a hybrid of a move TE - slot WR - outside WR.
  11. Almost as if they didn't want to win....
  12. Their FA additions were also a little more modest than Campbell / Jackson / Bouye. Really curious if Allen Robinson is going to be hitting the market, last I saw from him he said the team had not initiated any talks. Robinson - Martavius Bryant - Zay Jones - Benjamin would be a nice little receiver group to support a rookie QB.....
  13. They built like the Seahawks. And their defensive contracts are going to look like the Seahawks' very soon.
  14. Basically traded a 3rd round pick for Holmes / Dimarco / Duccasse
  15. I would love to pick up Bryant at the right price. I think he's got the talent to be a legitimate #1 WR. Only concern is one failed test away from being done.
  16. Quit on Texas Tech Grabbed his crotch against Kansas Flag Plant at OSU Offseason arrest Just to name a few. But hey, at least he didn't complain about being denied the ability to take a key class to get his finance degree.
  17. I have my hopes sky high. I think they have a gentleman’s agreement on a deal with the Giants to get Rosen at 2.
  18. It's asinine to compare Peterman to those guys.
  19. If the plan is to go into the season with Peterman and a vet of McCown's caliber, I'm going to be very concerned with the decision making at OBD. Drafting a player high doesn't mean Peterman needs to be immediately cut, but he's shown nothing to say more competition / a better young prospect is not a high priority.
  20. None of us know his end game. There's a big difference between making $700k to spend time with your family or $~2 mil to go through a football season. Guys have walked away from much more money at younger ages recently. I know nothing personally about Barnidge, but if he's just a quiet guy from Kentucky ~$ 6 mil in after tax career earnings can go A LONG way.
  21. He got paid $700k by the Browns last year. I wouldn't be shocked if he was getting offers in the $2-3 mil for a year range and he probably weighed the cost-benefit analysis of $700k for staying home vs $2-3 mil for playing came out ahead for him.
  22. I haven't read Barnwell all that much lately, but over time his takes on the Bills have ranged between apathy and downright disdain. I remember coming off the 9-7 year when Marrone left and we had brought in Shady and crew, he said we'd be one of the 5 worst teams in the league.
  23. I'm really curious why they aren't mentioned more as a potential Cousins suitor. They are 9th in cap space available and have much more than the Broncos and Cardinals. I don't think McCarron is signing somewhere that could potentially use a top 4 pick on a QB.
  24. I think people are overlooking the Vikings in the QB derby.
