I was going to say that deal felt awful for Chicago. Landry is basically a "must move" and is EXPENSIVE. Howard has a couple more cheap years. #8 for #11 and a 3rd is close to neutral on the value chart, anyway, certainly doesn't seem like much of a sweetener. If someone is willing to give Miami a 4th for Landry on the tag and needing an extension, they should take it and run.

Lamar Jackson on why he chose Louisville ...

UPDATE: "No teams have asked me to play wide receiver," Jackson told reporters Friday. "I don't even know where it comes from. I'm strictly a quarterback." Yeah. Bro. -

No. Old out of touch former execs have suggested he moves to WR. Not one team has asked him to make that move. -

With the move to more RPOs throughout the league, I'm kind of curious how Josh Allen has remained well ahead of Jackson in terms of prospects. It wouldn't shock me to see Jackson actually picked ahead of Allen or Mayfield, IMO he feels a bit like the guy teams are enamored with but don't want to mention his name in hopes of him slipping a bit. -
If guys like White are the primary target at this point in the process, I'm concerned.

I can fully believe the hit rate being lower from 6-10 than 11-20. 6-10 you are basically talking about bad teams forcing a pick and putting it into a bad situation. The "elite" QB prospects are almost always gone before 6, so it's a slightly lower tier, but still coming in with high expectations. 11-20 you are looking at more teams that maybe swooned a bit one year or are otherwise built up but just need a QB. All in all, better run teams. 21-32 you are starting to get into the territory where bad teams are moving up from round 2, especially the Browns.

Predict which team will sign Kirk Cousins (Poll)

I hope it's Denver or Arizona, but if the money is remotely close, how do you not go to Minny? -
What is the hit rate for QBs drafted after pick 20? Just a hunch, but you aren't getting anywhere near 26%

Bills need all 8 picks in the draft to get better.

Then they draft more players next year and they gain cap room from jettisoning the old guys. The Bills aren't leaving WNY if they have one bad year. I really don't understand why so many have such a fatalistic short sighted view. -

Bingo People act like trading some extra draft picks this year will prevent us from ever drafting another player. Bottom line, the team made moves last year in the trade down and the Sammy trade to gain enough ammunition to (finally) make a play for a top QB without mortgaging the future. -
I think there are two doors: Door 1: Tyrod is the "bridge" and day 1 starter Door 2: They have ~$10 mil to spend on a vet "bridge" QB IF someone will trade a draft pick for Tyrod. As for the rest of FA, if the visits they've had and last year's signings show anything, it'll likely be looking for youngish undervalued role players who fit their system. I would be relatively surprised to see a big splash.

If we want to trade up with the Giants, it may be in our best interest for Barkley to go #1. Given their clear need at the position and wanting to make life easier on Eli, I just can't see them passing him up. If he's gone #1, they are basically picking between a guard (a position they could use, but still, a guard #2) / a DE (a position they don't really need with JPP / Vernon) / a QB who'll sit for a couple of years / DB (another non-need position unless they are punting on Apple already) or a trade down. -

Umm, no, he did not start over Gurley. 2014 was their only year on campus together. Gurley was the clear back the first 5 games the year (Marshall / Chubb / Michel split time as backups) before being declared ineligible by the NCAA in game 6. Gurley was suspended 4 games, then got hurt against Auburn when he came back. -

If OSU had a decent QB the last two years it would be woodshed time. -

The name on the front of the jersey tends to go a long way with "draft experts" early in the process. In this case, he had an eye popping name on the front AND on the back of the jersey. -

Brown looks like a kid who saw his name in the first round of some mocks and spent the last 2 months on the couch playing as himself in Madden. -
Notre Dame G Quenton Nelson, food for thought.

Trading multiple 1st for an "elite" non-QB prospect is a fools errand. See Watkins, Sammy for further reference. -
Every team in the league wants to trade down ~10 spots and pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd. The vast majority of 1st round trades are for QBs (look at the list last year, you don't see a 1st round move for a non-QB until pick 26, and then it's using late 3rd or 4th rounders to move a handful of spots). The book is out, every team in the league wants to maximize draft capital.

A select few are in love with Baker Mayfield and/or Mason Rudolph and rip down the other prospects.
