  1. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/03/16/hue-jackson-recommended-aj-mccarron-to-bills/
  2. Aka the guy Beane was rumored to not even want until Hue Jackson talked him into it.
  3. At this point it's not realistic to think a QB isn't going #2. Either someone (Denver / Miami) will pay the price to get their for a QB, or if the Giants stay they go QB. The pick is worth too much to use it on a non-QB.
  4. That's the feeling I have too. It wouldn't shock me to find out we'd been haggling with the Colts over picks to include, we wouldn't pay the price they wanted, the Jets panicked and the Colts know they are basically get the same player at 6 they were looking at with 3.
  5. I just don't think it's realistic to go from 12 to 2. If the Giants have been digesting tape of Barkley / Nelson / Chubb / Fitzpatrick for the last couple months, there's no way they move down far enough to the point all of those guys are gone for sure. If the Giants are going QB they aren't moving. I'm also think even Lamar Jackson is gone at 12. Miami is right before us and have been rumored on QBs, it's realistic that 4 QBs go in the top 5.
  6. Bingo. I do enjoy the narrative. "No clear cut guy" as if these guys are all rubbish, instead of the reality that GMs and fans have been drooling over this QB class for years.
  7. The only way I see us getting to #2 is basically a 3 team trade where the Giants fall to #4 / #6 / #7 and we basically pay for 2 moves up the board. I don't think the Giants are going to punt out of the tier of prospects they are looking at with #2 all the way down to #12, and I think it's too risky for us to do in two separate transactions.
  8. 1) Darnold 2) Giants stay at 2 and take Rosen 3) Allen 4) Broncos move up 1 spot and take Baker, Browns get the exact same player they were going to get plus more picks We're left with Lamar Jackson or Mason Rudolph being over drafted and the same Bills garbage all over again. That's the much more likely scenario until a trade for 2 is completed. No way the Giants pick a non-QB at 2, someone will pay for the pick or they just take a QB of their own.
  9. If we are in the ballpark on a trade up to 2 you have to get it done now. You can't play this out anymore. That's what this trade did, before we were sitting there with 2 / 3/ 4 all in play to potentially get our guy. Now it's down to 2, maybe 4, that's it.
  10. All these "trust the process" kool aid drinkers who are over the moon because we happened to get lucky that 9-7 qualified for the playoffs with tiebreakers falling our way can take a hike. Unless we've got a deal in place for #2, we are going to be a day late and a dollar short when it comes to QB yet again.
  11. If we trade to 6 to get Allen after Darnold / Rosen / Baker is off the board, eff this braintrust.
  12. An argument can certainly be made the Colts know they are going to get the same level prospect at 6 as 3 and that could have eliminated us from contention, but the Jets gave up the rough equivalent of #12 / #22 / #53 / #97 / 2019 2nd, aka a trade that would have left us still with 2 day 2 picks and down just 1 pick next year. If that's too much for our regime to get a true franchise QB, I'm concerned.
  13. Man, I really hope this means we've got something in place for #2. I really worry about this being a repeat of the Big Ben draft, we supposedly try hard to move up, can't, then overdraft some bum later in the 1st. I think there's a better than decent chance the Giants sober up and just take Rosen for themselves.
  14. One less bidder out, unless Denver is trying to move up.
  15. Rome wasn't built in a day. The Bills won't be rebuilt in a year. IMO the Dline & secondary are unquestionably more important than linebacker, that's correctly been the focus. Frankly if there's one spot on the roster I'm fine being "weak" at, it's linebacker, I think it's a position where day 2 & day 3 gems can be mined, as well as cuts from other teams.
  16. Yes, the best linebacker in the league would be nice.
  17. Did Rosen sleep with that guy's daughter?
  18. There was no buzz on a trade down last year. No buzz on Watkins being traded. No buzz on trading for Benjamin. Weren’t in the teams supposedly hunting Murphy. Bills beat writers said we weren’t signing a FA QB. Yet we are telling people Allen is our guy?
  19. Aka, "everyone is holding us over the barrel on a trade up because we can offer more, we need to try to do something to show we aren't desperate"
  20. Unless something happens that isn't going to (Barkley / Fitzpatrick / Chubb) falling to 12, OBD is going to see a fan revolt if they don't go QB.
  21. The Colts could take that, drop to 12 now, then move back up to 7-8 on draft night and still likely get one of Chubb / Barkley / Nelson / Fitzpatrick, ie get one of the guys they are potentially looking at with #3 while adding several extra picks.
  22. I would still prefer a trade for Martavius Bryant, but it seems like Pittsburgh is holding him for now. I think he was WR 1 upside if he stays on the right path.
  23. Odighizua was a street FA. He's got a chance to earn a spot but he's certainly not inked in. Capi isn't much different. Hughes / Lawson / Murphy / Davis / Yarborough is some very nice depth at DE and combined make what some teams are spending on one edge rusher alone.
  24. Brice Butler Bring Deonte back Zay Benjamin Draft a guy in round 2-3
  25. First pick is REALLY easy to move up, get a QB and still have ~8 picks in rounds 3 & 4. Fun, but utterly ridiculous.
