  1. I'd rather just push you and anyone else who wants Mason Rudolph over the cliff.
  2. Your original post (and this follow up post) implies the Browns are going to give the Giants a 3rd round pick just to make sure we trade to #2, but the Browns stay at #4. You don't think there's something logically wrong with that? I'm sure a 3 team trade has occurred. A team has never just given up a draft pick (especially a high one) for a promise from another team.
  3. Until we see something different, I think we just need to live with the likely reality either the Giants pick is unavailable or the asking price makes the RG3 trade look light. The Jets likely moved up to the highest available pick.
  4. While it would be very nice of the Browns to just give us a 2nd or 3rd round pick to help us trade up, it's utterly ridiculous to suggest it.
  5. I think it's more likely Jackson is gone before 12 than it is he's available at 22. I could live with Baker / Allen / Jackson at 12 and having 5 other picks on days 1 and 2. I think Darnold and Rosen are the only guys worth an aggressive move up.
  6. I tend to believe that's the likely reality. If Beane just need to give up pick #22 / #53 / 2019 2nd to make sure they get up from 12 to get a QB in the top 3, I think they do it without hesitation.
  7. Frankly I think if trading to the Giants pick were a real option, it would be done already. It's entirely possible Beane knows the Giants aren't going to take a QB and was playing between the Colts and the Giants to get the best deal before the Jets stepped in and beat us with the Colts, which will spur Beane to lock down with the Giants. As to why I think the Giants are going QB, simply put you don't turn down what the Jets offered (regardless of being in the same city) or what we can potentially offer (not to mention Denver, Miami, etc) to take a guard or a running back. It's entirely possible in the next couple of days a trade up to #2 materializes. It's also possible we lost our only shot of getting one of these QBs we really covet. The Giants were all over the Rosen pro day and the people who cover the Giants on twitter seem to think QB is in play.
  8. I swear some people convinced themselves Beane would be able to trade backup linebackers and guards and "draft day" his way all the way up to #2.
  9. Think every QB is garbage or that Darnold or Rosen compare even remotely to the guys you mention, sure, that's one way to cope.
  10. Exactly. They looked at what we had to offer and what the Jets had to offer, realized they are basically getting the same player at 6 as they would at 3 and took the second round picks. I can't say I blame them.
  11. I've said it multiple times, but a move to 7-8 without a move to #2 in place is just a waste of time and resources.
  12. Or the Colts just didn't want to drop all the way down to #12.
  13. The Jets didn't pay a kings ransom. They gave up 3 2nd round picks. It's minuscule if their QB actually hits and it's certainly better than the alternative of watching us trade up above them and freeze out the QB position. We're screwed. I think the Giants are set on QB, likely Rosen. No running back is worth the picks that would likely be given on a move. QBs go top 3, potentially even 4, that's why the Jets moved up, they knew if they watched us trade up and get a franchise QB they'd be crucified, not to mention have to play against him twice a year. Our best play now is just keep our picks, if not potentially move down for future picks, build the best "TEAM" possible, hope that McCarron or a later QB can be better than Bortles/Tyrod level and continue to exists in purgatory. The pipe dream of a move up to get one of these guys was likely always just a pipe dream.
  14. Welp that likely puts a pin in shopping Lawson or Hughes as part of a move up. Bucs know Colts taking Chubb right before them.
  15. The market this year isn't any different than any other year on QBs. Teams have traded 2 additional 1st round picks to move ~6 spots for QBs before. The reality is if the Bills were to make a move up, a lot of posters would knee jerk at the price. The Jets didn't change any of that, just eliminated a potential trade partner.
  16. If Denver is sold on a QB, they very easily could give Cleveland a 3rd rounder, maybe a conditional 2019 pick to flip picks. Cleveland gets the exact same player, Denver makes sure no one else moves up. Also, if you are going to call posters out, it helps to reply to their posts.
  17. I think Jackson's ceiling is higher than Mayfield's.
  18. No, it comes from trading a QB last year the Chiefs are very excited about, a year worth of rumors about loading up for an aggressive move up the draft board, not having a QB for 20 years, and now very likely getting frozen out. Everyone is reacting differently, some are mad, some are talking themselves into lower tier options, some are just trusting the process.
  19. Ponder I'm guessing it's someone who's garbage because you want to illustrate a point about scouting descriptions missing.
  20. Yes, this team could be very good if they found a franchise QB off the scrap heap. Also, I could buy a lot of things I want if I won the lottery. Which do you think is more likely to happen?
  21. A - Brady Quinn B- Russell Wilson
  22. You are exactly right. The 4th best guy this year would likely be the top guy many years. Some people can't understand that one guy hasn't separated because all of them are very good in their own ways and think that means none of them are any good.
  23. While trading pick #1 for pick #12 and lower picks and instilling Tyrod & Hyde as your backfield of now and the future is a very browns thing to do, it's not something to realistically think could happen.
  24. Losman and Manuel were not drafting a QB high. That was talking yourself into taking a flawed player early.
