  1. I consider myself a realist but an optimist would label that a pessimist.
  2. I just don't trust someone making an aggressive move to get in front of us. Unless teams put Jackson in the same tier of the other guys, once the 3rd QB goes I have to imagine the phones start ringing off the hook.
  3. Rosen falling to 4, us moving up with 12 / 53 / 65 maybe a conditional 2019 2nd / 3rd is my all time best case scenario. Being able to walk out with Rosen and pick 22, one of 53-65, and the 2019 1st would be amazing.
  4. Jets are going to take Baker, he's going to get angry about McCown / Bridgewater getting first team reps, start partying hard, let the fame get to his head and end up in the XFL.
  5. Beane is playing it out like he thinks he has the best cards, he's just waiting for the best time to strike. But the supposed best cards don't do you any good if all the dance partners dry up before you play them. Honestly wouldn't shock me to find out he tried to play the Colts and they called his bluff and took the Jets deal. Jets don't give up that return without serious competition for the pick. Beane could already know he got frozen out.
  6. They apparently want to move down again with us being a target.... Likely reality is the Jets simply offered the best package.
  7. Screw the Colts. If they want to move down again they can have pick #97, that's it. Only way trading to that pick makes sense is part of a plan with the Giants already in place.
  8. I think my godfather offer is: #12 / #22 / #53 / #56 / #65 / 2019 2nd / 2020 2nd for #2 / #102 / 2019 4th / 2020 4th Kirby is right, I don't want to touch #1 next year, way too much defensive talent coming in. He's also right that we've put all our eggs in this basket for this year, it's not likely we have this much ammo again anytime soon. Beane is either hitching his job to an aggressive move up or he's hitching it to McCarron / Peterman / whoever else might get drafted later.
  9. They gave up the rough equivalent of just #1 to move up to #3 and guarantee a QB they like, not #1 and #10. It was an expensive move, but they've locked in at least the 3rd best QB.
  10. #12 / #22 / #53 / #56 / 2019 2nd rounder If you value the 2019 2nd at 300 points (basically the lowest value of round 2) that's 2,990 points for a pick that's "worth" 2,600 points We still walk out with 2 day 2 picks at #65 / #97 and we still have next years 1st if the wheels fall off and it's a top 10 pick.
  11. You just don't turn down the bevy of picks that would be offered for a QB at #2 to take a non-QB. I would be shocked if QBs don't go 1-3 (potentially even 1-4). The Giants are going to grab this kid, groom him for a year, then kick Eli out of town.
  12. With Matt Miller's board on difficult, I would take this happily: 12: R1P12 QB JOSH ALLEN WYOMING 22: R1P22 EDGE HAROLD LANDRY BOSTON COLLEGE 53: R2P21 OT KOLTON MILLER UCLA 56: R2P24 WR DJ MOORE MARYLAND 65: R3P1 TE MIKE GESICKI PENN STATE 96: R3P32 WR DANTE PETTIS WASHINGTON 121: R4P21 LB SHAQUEM GRIFFIN CENTRAL FLORIDA 166: R5P29 RB KALEN BALLAGE ARIZONA STATE 187: R6P13 LB MICAH KISER VIRGINIA
  13. Some of these prospect boards are utterly ridiculous. "Nachmany" has Josh Rosen at 67?!
  14. Context matters, which is why people are stuck on Losman and EJ. Just like Browns fans are stuck on Quinn / Manziel / Weeden / Kizer etc it's what we've experienced. It's entirely possible McCarron, Peterman, Mike White, some other random guy pop and become a franchise QB. But we haven't taken a shot on a guy who is viewed as a blue chip prospect for 35 years. That's my frustration.
  15. We broke the drought, but lets not pretend this team the past year was all that much different than the 3 years before it (we were maybe even less talented last year than the 3 previous years). Only difference is math broke our way. If Boyd drops a ball we don't even play in literally nothing changes with our regular season and you'd see a lot less people who are willing to just blindly accept everything done by the new regime. Until we have an option under center who gives us a chance to walk into Foxboro and win in January (or even October), it's all just masturbation.
  16. Thorson maybe too if he comes back off the injury. Total homer pick, but I could see Dwayne Haskins exploding to the top of the rankings.
  17. I think Baker is most likely to "fall". Honestly I wouldn't be that shocked to see Lamar go before him.
  18. If Tyler Boyd drops that ball, I wonder if people would be drinking the kool aid so hard.
  19. We've been living with the best QB available for the past 20 years. Hasn't worked once.
  20. I think there's a chance they are deep in negotiations with the Giants. I think there's zero chance they are sitting on an agreed upon trade. If the Giants pick is available, I think the most likely scenario is we've been told to get up to the 4-8 range before going to 2.
  21. I think our best case scenario is: 1) Darnold 2) Giants - Barkley 3) Allen 4) Browns want Barkley but he's gone, guard is one of their few strengths, are willing to take the quantity of draft picks to move down to 12 where they are still likely to get an impact defensive player. We take Rosen 5) Broncos get Baker, won't trade up with Browns knowing they'll get Baker or Rosen.
  22. That sounds the like the logic of an 11 year old.
  23. If we keep trading down we probably could get about 25 7th round picks.
