  1. Watkins - Benjamin Woods - Jones Goodwin - ??? Taylor - McCarron Wood - Groy / Bodine Glenn - Dawkins (hole at RT) Dareus - Star Preston Brown - ??? Zach Brown - ??? Gilmore - White Darby - Davis NRC - ??? Graham - Poyer Aaron Williams - Hyde That's the turnover we've seen from the "starters" since the beginning of 2016. Other than the secondary and possibly Taylor to McCarron, everyone else is a talent downgrade.
  2. Why stop at just the QB position. The amount of talent that's been traded / walked in FA off this team in the last 13 months is staggering.
  3. Maccagnan is unhinged. Don't rule out Barkley for them.
  4. The Browns being convinced to take the QB who isn't #1 on their board would be catastrophic for the Browns plans.
  5. Over. A. Mountain. Basically you can execute the greatest play in NFL history, the Techmo Bowl "QB runs backwards 50 yards, runs around in the endzone, throws a ball all the way to the other endzone, WR jumps up 3 whole screens, touchdown".
  6. He can throw a football over a mountain.
  7. Yes, if all the top QBs are out of reach, my plan A is to trade down for next year picks. Problem is, outside of WRs from Clemson, teams usually only trade a future 1st for QBs. What you are suggesting is kind of a catch 22, a player who isn't good enough that we want him but is good enough a team wants to trade up for him. As an aside, I really can't see the Steelers doing that, that's just not how they operate.
  8. 2 years out does not turn a 1st into a 3rd. What you are attempting to argue is ridiculous. Anyone would take #6, #38, a 1st 2 years out over 12 / 22.
  9. We got rid of Gilmore, Darby, Watkins, Woods, Dareus and made the playoffs Maybe they think getting rid of Glenn, Tyrod, Gaines, Preston Brown and we'll win the Super Bowl
  10. But but but Mason Rudolph is the best QB in the class
  11. I'd expect nothing less from a Redhawk.
  12. Trading down to 12 doesn't preclude you from trading back up throughout the draft as players you have high on your board are available.
  13. A lot of people here wanted to go QB last year before the draft. A lot more were sure we were loaded up for a big trade. It's not hindsight.
  14. The guys running the team have never valued the RB position like that. Barkley's pass catching ability increases his value, but it's also likely they are fine with Hyde / Duke Johnson at RB. Guard is likely the strongest position on their team with Zeitler / Bitonio, so that rules out Nelson. They could be in play for Chubb but might never see him. I think they are a real candidate to trade down.
  15. You lost me at 6 and 12 might be a wash. If 6 and 12 was a wash, we'd be at #3 right now with still holding a 2nd rounder and our 1st next year.
  16. Hey, I was going to take the Jets and pick Chubb or Barkley
  17. It's nowhere near the most capital given up.
  18. Realistically, even in a bad year we end up picking in the 9-12 range anyway. If we are too low to move up at this point, we weren't likely going 4-12 anyway. Now for 2018....
  19. If Mahomes is a stud and the Jets get a stud QB at 3 while we miss on the position yet again, the pressure is going to be all over McBeane QUICK.
  20. Passing up Mahomes or Watson wasn't worth it.
  21. Not to mention that outside of probably Baker, he had more to work with than any other QB in this class. He spent his entire career with 2 WRs who'll likely be off the board by the end of day 2 this year. It simply doesn't compare to what Allen had or even Rosen. The talent around Rudolph made him better, not the other way around. That can work, but we are certainly not in a position to make it work here.
  22. Jordan Palmer has been working with most of the top guys. He was asked if 82 yards was a good over / under on Allen unleashing it. I can just see the Browns doing all this homework, getting to know Darnold's family etc, then watching Allen hit a WR in stride on a 80 yard pass in shorts and throwing all other prep work away.
