  1. Giants owe us one after wide right. I'm sure Beane has helped Gettleman out of a bind before.
  2. They still have a full draft this year and are only down 1 future pick. They were in worse position moving forward after the Sammy trade. This deal is a no brainer for us IMO (even though I'm doom and gloom about our prospects in 2019), it's a massive win on the value for the Giants. I think they stay at 2 and they might want even more than this, though this trade basically represents them getting an extra 1st tossed in on "value".
  3. I guess that settles it for people that claim it's a vocal minority that wants to trade up for Rosen.
  4. It's being discussed in 50% of the threads currently on the board. It's just a poll to vote in.
  5. I think Baker and Manziel 2.0 would be MUCH more entertaining.
  6. Most likely scenario. If we had gotten to 3, it could open the door for a quick flip to #1. But everything else is just baseless hope. Frankly I think our only chance of getting up to #2 is if the Giants aren't going QB and we are able to work a deal where we get #2 / Giants get #4 / Cleveland gets something they would like. But I think the move not being there is the most likely scenario and if this is a true leak, it's to get the fans ire turned toward the Colts.
  7. If we don't get a QB, I'm ready to Tonya Harding whoever the Jets get.
  8. Yep. At this point I think absolute best case is trading up and getting one of Allen or Baker around 7, hopefully only having to give up a 2nd to do it.
  9. If it's truly coming out of them, I see it as damage control for the fanbase. "We're sorry we can't get up to the top 3, we thought a deal was done and the Colts double crossed us, be mad at them, not us".
  10. I'll keep saying it. Everyone thinks it's crazy. I'm not 100% sold the Jets are going QB. They are attacking FA like a front office that knows they need to win now. I just wouldn't be shocked if the move was to jump the Browns at 4 for Barkley, figuring Barkley at RB could spearhead a quick turnaround like it did for Dallas / Jacksonville the last 2 years. Their plan is to play McCown, they signed Bridgewater, they still have Hackenburg and Maccagnan knows taking a QB like Allen, who is going to sit for a year or two, basically ensuring they get very little impact from their rookie class, he's basically picking QB of the future for the next guy.
  11. Or we've been frozen out, got double crossed by the Colts and aren't afraid to shine the light on a rat.
  12. And then immediately said they'd be open to another trade down. It wouldn't shock me if Beane got off the phone thinking a deal was done, Ballard called up the Jets for one last push, they relented, he called Beane back and Beane told him to respectively eff off.
  13. "Jets fan here, just coming to rub in trading for #3"
  14. Also, if the Colts said "we've got a deal" and got off the phone with us, only to call the Jets, or field a call from the Jets, eff them forever. Feeling like 2004 all over, having a supposed deal done to move up and the other team backing out.
  15. They did not have a deal in place if it was able to be beat by the Jets. Could explain the actions on FA QBs, Bills opened FA thinking they had a trade done with Colts, Colts informed them Friday it changed, Bills signed McCarron Friday afternoon, Colts-Jets trade broke Saturday morning.
  16. Not seeing much round 2 talent there....
  17. Reputation on the board? Who cares? If someone has something interesting to say, what does it matter if they have 10,000 posts or 4? I like Rosen. I don't think we've had anywhere near the caliber of him since Kelly. Could one hit knock him out? Sure, but ask Ryan Shazier what one hit can do. If you want to break down stats, tell me the breakdown of pro bowlers / starters / busts between picks 12 - 65. Tell me the hit rate for QBs drafted then. Staying put means it's more likely than not whoever we pick at QB (even Mason Rudolph) is going to bust and be a worthless pick, out of the other 4 picks in that range, we'd be lucky to end up with 1 pro bowler, 2 good starters, 1 bust. Lets not pretend like we are giving up hall of famers in a trade up. I've seen this team be very talented without a QB, we all know what happens, the talent on this roster now comes nowhere close to where it was 2-3 years ago, even then the team went nowhere with no QB. Personally I'm sick of trying to accept mediocrity, it doesn't matter if we draft 4 pro bowlers with the picks we keep, no QB means it's worthless.
  18. You forgot to include Mason Rudolph as an option at QB.
  19. So you think a franchise QB isn't worth giving up some backups, a fast WR and a MLB?
  20. If Rudolph is so awesome, maybe the Giants or Jets will just draft him. And if we are relying on 6 rookies to "fill holes" we are going to suck anyway, may as well have the QB.
  21. Don't even need to see the offer before voting yes.
  22. I think the Bills and Giants both like Rosen. If we are trying to work to #1, it's likely for a player the Browns don't want (Rosen) not one of the two they are deciding between. If the Browns had pick #3 it might actually have legs, but I can't see them agreeing to trade out of 1, even if it's for a player they don't want and have them risk watching Darnold - Allen go 2 / 3 and leave them with nothing. This is where the Jets getting pick #3 is crippling. If I had to bet, I'd say it goes Darnold / Rosen / Allen 1 / 2 / 3 with the Browns / Giants / Jets staying put. That leaves us likely paying a ransom for #4 to get Baker, or letting things play out. I do think there's a very slight chance the Giants or Jets don't go QB, but like I said, I think the Bills are trying to jump the Giants for a player the Browns don't want but the Giants do. It all comes back to the Jets trade for #3. Missing / losing on that basically killed the "elite" QB prospect plan IMO. I think there's a slight chance Baker falls and we don't have to pay a ransom to get past Miami, but I think the most likely result is we take either Jackson (or gag, Rudolph) at 12, or we use one of the 2nds / 3rds on a guy like White / Lauletta.
  23. If anything thinks its a "Big 4" at this point they aren't paying attention. It's more like a "Big 2.5".
