I think #6 is the most interesting spot in the draft, you are looking at Chubb / Barkley or auctioning off the 4th QB. That becomes pick #7 if someone like Nelson or Fitzpatrick slides into the top 6. If the Giants decide to trade the pick I think that happens before the draft. Otherwise I think the Browns / Colts / Bucs (maybe even the Broncos) are going to wait till the draft and potentially hold the last QB hostage.

Mel Kiper's Nightmare Mock 3.0

It's a double edged sword. If they hold on to Beckham they are likely going to want to pay a cheap QB very soon instead of having an expensive QB and expensive WR. Bottom line, if the Giants evaluate a QB as being worth taking #2 overall, they are going to take him, regardless of their other moves. -
Le’Veon Bell - worth $17 mill/yr?
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If we have a rookie QB in place who looks like "the guy", Dawkins continues and shows he's a "franchise" LT and Zay and/or a rookie WR steps forward I would drop $17 mil on Bell next offseason without thinking twice. We'd have our "expensive" positions locked down with cheap young talent, adding arguably (or not arguably) the best back in football is a luxury we could easily afford. -
I thought the guy who cuts hair said we are trading up for Josh Rosen last week.

To have a conversation about a potential (though unlikely) move. Gettleman has said multiple times they are looking for a "hall of fame" potential player. If they find him, regardless of position, they are going to stay. If they don't I think it's likely they would rather have our bounty of picks than just moving back with a team like Denver. I'm not in the Giants meetings, so I don't know how they've evaluated the players, and neither are you, so step off your high horse and don't play topic police when people discuss hypotheticals.

I think if the Giants decide there's not a "Hall of Fame" talent (what they are said to be looking for) they'll quickly move to deal the pick. Beane can't get caught sleeping on that one too.

QBs, NFL Draft, Identity Politics (New Poster)

All I'm going to say is there's certainly coded language (blue collar, etc) that goes with nearly every argument of the people who want Mayfield over Rosen. -
None of These QB's Should Get the Hype

You do realize there's 3, maybe 4 QBs who would have been the 1st or 2nd QB off the board in any of the last 10+ drafts, right? -
I tend to believe the Woody Johnson Trump stuff is real with Rosen. I've seen Mort and other guys say the QBs will go off the board Darnold - Allen - Mayfield - Rosen. Baker absolutely feels like a Jets pick, the guy who'll grab the headlines. I think it's pretty clear everything hinges on the Giants. If they take a QB, I think it's panic time. If they pass, there's a chance Denver passes too and leaves us with 2 guys we could potentially like and a very manageable move up the draft board.

If we want one of these top 4 guys, we need to go get them asap. It's pretty foolish to think teams like Miami and Arizona aren't also working hard to get into position to grab one. Just because we have the most picks to offer doesn't mean teams are simply going to sit on their hands and say "well, we'd like to see what the Bills will give us".

He's washed, but he'd still be an improvement over what we have.

Preferred would be a trade with Cleveland to #4, but keeping #22 and all our future 1sts. Hopefully the 4th QB has a massive chip on his shoulder and turns out better than the 3 taken in front of him and we can still add an impact player at 22.

If 4 QBs go in the top 5, I don't think there's any way Lamar Jackson is on the board at 12. Either Miami takes him at 11 or someone (Arizona?) moves up and gets him above us. Not getting a prime QB this year is a failure, bottom line. But with our draft picks, we can still add a lot of talent, let McCarron have a chance and draft a prospect better than Peterman in round ~3. It's not a complete loss. That only happens if we feel pressured to overdraft a guy like Rudolph in round 1 with other elite talent still on the board.
