it seems pretty clear we were competing with Arizona from pick 4 on. I think neither team was willing to give up a next year 1st. The Bills knowing the Cardinals couldn't beat 12 / 53 / 56 weren't going to put in 22. Tampa was the first team to bite. Once we were gone, it was down to just Arizona calling and they could lower their offer. But man, I do wish the Cardinals would have "won" for Allen and left us to get Rosen with the scraps.

Get something done tonight then buckle in for what should be a very busy Saturday.

Give me a break. It was pick 53 & 56. Given some of the rumors it was nothing and we still added a top 10 position prospect. With all due respect, you have no clue.

I might get flamed for it, but Wyoming was one of the very worst teams in Division 1 last year. Everything they accomplished (winning a bowl game) was Allen. As a Buckeye fan, after watching Barrett all year and tape of Allen, I think the Buckeyes win the title last year with Allen at QB and what would put a very different story on him as a prospect. Flip him and Baker in Wyoming vs Oklahoma, I think Allen is pick #1 and Baker is a day 1 / day 2 fringe guy.

He's raw, but outside of maybe Jackson and possibly Darnold, he's got the best physical tools in the draft. His size and arm strength project very well to the league. Smart offenses are scheming up easier throws (how Philly turned Foles from reclamation project to Super Bowl MVP). We need to get him skill players who compliment his game, big targets like Benjamin or speedy guys who can run under a ball and give some margin for error. His accuracy is concerning, but Jordan Palmer claims he's working his tail off daily to improve. Bottom line, all these QBs have question marks, Beane was able to work our way up to get the 3rd one at worst on his board. He didn't give up any future picks and walked out with the 2nd best LB in the draft, arguably our biggest "need" and mitigating losing all 3 picks between 53-65 by picking up a 5th and 7th. If we weren't left in a position to compare him to Rosen and Mahomes/Watson forever I think it would have a major swing on the public perception.

If Wyoming had run 1 more bubble screen (easy completion) vs vertical pass every game he played in (25 games) he'd be a 60% passer.

They traded 2017 pick 10, 2018 pick 21, 2018 pick 53, a WR they weren’t going to sign, a LT who quit the moment he got paid and Tyrod They got a potential franchise QB, a potential franchise MLB, what looks like a lock down CB and a mountain of cap space.

Personally I’d rather have the QB who said “I need to prove 9 teams messed up” vs the one who spent the evening swearing he wasn’t racist. But what do I know, this franchise has never been accused of knowing what they are doing at QB.

If weather is the reason we haven’t had a QB for 20 years it’s time to build a dome.

Browns should have gone Barkley / Chubb then traded back in for one of these QBs.

If we would have traded 96 for him I’d be doing cartwheels right now.

This was considered anywhere from a 12 - 18 ish player 1st round. We got 2 of them at huge positions of need. If Allen hits (or if Rosen misses) this was a monster night.

Awesome. If you would have told me we walk out of tonight with Allen and Edmunds, be down only 1 pick this year and not touch next year I would have taken it all day.

Allen fits the current NFL. Big guy. Big arm. Some mobility. Personality fits Buffalo & McBeane. But man. I don’t think he can actually play.

Depending on what the Saints gave up in this trade, it would be really tempting to give up 22 & 65 for Edmonds or James right now.

Either Beane picked the next Cam / Luck / Wentz or the next EJ. Doesn’t feel like much in between with Allen.

Cards gave up nothing for Rosen. I can see the headlines now ”Baker becoming an immediate tone setter for the Browns” ”Rosen pushing Bradford for the starting job” ”Darnold showing quick understanding of the offense” ”Allen hit a hospitality tent and an outhouse today”.

If he hits Buffalo is going to love him. 12 / 53 / 56 for the 3rd QB off the board. I guess that’s #trusttheprocess
