  1. We don't get one of the 4 QBs staying at 12. Arizona trades up to take Allen, then either Miami takes Rosen or trades the pick to someone else who takes him right before us. I like Darnold more than Allen. But we traded #21 / Cordy Glenn / #53 / #56 for Allen. The Jets traded pick #6 /# 37 / #49 / 2019 2nd (that's likely to be early) for Darnold.
  2. I'm the pessimist who said 3. I think we have the worst WR and worst OL situation in the league, given there's nothing proven at QB we are near the bottom there, we are VERY inexperienced at LB and McD relies heavily on the position in his scheme and I'm not convinced we have anyone on the DL who is going to dictate blocking schemes.
  3. Those Dez comments certainly seem different than the other quote from him saying something to the effect of "We watched him on tape, we don't need to go any further". I'm glad to hear him address the lack of attention on the skill positions, other than at the tail end of the draft. Bottom line, not every position can be addressed, he did very well to get one of the top 4 QBs, a player viewed as a top ~10 position player by the majority of analysts, a Kyle Williams clone, a Richie clone and some well regarded DBs without touching future draft capital.
  4. If one of Allen and Edmunds hits, Phillips takes over the mantle from Kyle and one or two of the day 3 picks sticks, it's a successful draft. If BOTH Allen & Edmunds hits it's an all time draft that sets up the McBeane regime for years to come. Looking at draft value charts and saying we overpaid for #7 is simply ignoring reality and shows a lack of understanding of economic principles. It's pretty established Arizona was competing for the pick too. One could assume their offer started with #15 / #47. They traded pick #79. So basically to beat 15 / 47 / 79 you had to put up 12 / 53 and one of 56-65. Considering both picks were traded it doesn't really matter. To pound the table and say one of these 4 QBs is going to hit and one is going to bust for sure is ignorant. To do it without a hint of actual NFL personnel experience is just stupid. Some people loved our draft, some people hated it, some people will be right, some will be wrong. Given his history, it does seem Silva has an ax to grind against the organization.
  5. Would love to be in Cleveland's position this past draft (1 & 4) and walk out with two of Bosa / Oliver / Gary or the Clemson guys.
  6. If the 5 QBs taken in round 1 this year had all entered the draft last year, Baker might have been the 8th QB picked. Yet the guy who picked him #1 overall this year pulled some CIA mind tricking to get a guy listed near the top of mock drafts all year long drafted near the top this year.
  7. I don’t agree with your opinion of Cam. The guy tore the league up in 2015, cruised to the MVP and was very much responsible for putting McBeane in charge here. He got hurt against Denver week 1 2016 and played through pain the whole year. This past year they were trying to change his play style on the fly, he didn’t have Olsen most of the year and they had no running game. But more to the point Allen fits the mold of guys like Cam, Luck, Wentz. He’s big and athletic enough he can keep plays alive or just move the chains on the ground. Rosen is an incredibly polished passer, but there’s less physical limitations to Allen vs Rosen. The likely reality is the vast majority of teams had Allen above Rosen.
  8. Garbage Pats fan throwing shade at Allen. There’s no way Dorsey throwing misinformation towards Allen rocketed him up the draft boards. The guy was listed right with Darnold and Rosen all year.
  9. I can’t believe we didn’t get 3 day one starters on offense in day 3 of the draft. Losing faith in McBeane.
  10. I enjoyed how Kiper had Allen at #1 for most of the process, we get him at 7 and he gives us a bad grade. I know the raiders traded out at 10, but there was certainly a chance if we didn’t get Allen at 7 something happens with 8-9-10 not trading and the Dolphins take Rosen at 11. You think people were mad with Allen, imagine if that happened. I think A LOT of the league had Allen above Rosen, if not above Baker and/or Darnold too. The heat he’s getting from a lot in here and a lot in the mainstream media is not fair.
  11. I wouldn’t mind doubling down on QB with Lauletta / White / Falk still on the board.
  12. Both with Edmunds and Phillips, it’s refreshing to see them drafting the guys on top of the “BPA” lists. For years you’d get excited for a guy to fall, only for them to take Xavier Oman or Alex Carrington.
  13. Hate to be that guy, but if we had a comp pick we could take a guy like Crosby or St Brown right now.
  14. I’m happy to see the Raiders back to taking guys who tested well half a round early plus character concerns.
  15. Take Griffin. The guy is going to be a player an a locker room leader from day 1.
  16. At this point it may be way more than that. The guy is a borderline round 1 talent.
  17. A whole bunch of teams have red flagged Hurst as not draftable due to his heart defect.
  18. Dang Bengals. Hubbard & Jefferson. That would have been nice.
  19. Waiting for all the Mason Rudolph at 22 people to say “we could have had 4 starters and taken Rudolph at 65”
  20. Maybe we can just take Rudolph at pick 96
  21. Remember all the brilliant people who wanted to take Washington and Rudolph at 21 & 22?
  22. BB going to use our pick on Mason Rudolph
  23. Wonder if Demaryius may go up on the block...
