  1. I'm going to remain skeptical about Allen over Rosen, but that almost feels like a bonus pick. If Edmunds hits as a "franchise" MLB and White proves what he showed last year, you'll take that all day in back to back 1st rounds.
  2. I think RT is going to be garbage, but the interior of the OL might not be THAT bad. Miller , Teller, Bodine are all young-ish guys who could surprise and Groy played well when he's been put in. It sure would be nice if they kissed and made up with Richie, plugging him in at LG, Bodine / Groy fighting it out for center and Miller / Teller / Ducasse maybe Groy fighting out RG would seem a whole lot better on paper. I think some people need to recognize what this is. Young / unknown guys are going to be given shots to earn PT and roles moving forward at Oline / WR / LB. If some stick, great, if not, we'll go after it hard in FA and the draft next year.
  3. I'd have to think the Browns are likely the leaders in the clubhouse. Can't say no. built in drama with Baker and Tyrod, coach firmly on the hot seat.
  4. Sign him up! http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2774532-the-mountain-hafthor-bjornsson-crowned-2018-worlds-strongest-man
  5. If only there were a way to ignore topics you didn't want to discuss.
  6. I said it when people were justifying the Allen pick because of weather, if the weather is so bad is severely impacts the type of players we can draft then build a dome.
  7. Basically the Browns did a Browns thing at 4, then Denver and Indy at 5 & 6 got guys they never thought they could get. I'd have to believe the Browns could have dropped back to 12 and still ended up with Ward rather easily, given how many picks they have to go back up. I don't think Denver & Indy pass on Chubb / Nelson. Tampa traded. They did go corner at 53 & 63 so maybe they just take Ward, or maybe not, still taking the highest corner drafted in nearly 20 years over Chubb and a "QB" trade package, no pressure or anything Denzel.
  8. I've always enjoyed him. I think he's lost a little bit of his fastball but I imagine he's been pretty busy as the figurehead of the MMQB. I can't help but wonder how long SI has left.
  9. Jason Peters should be on the team for sure, I didn't go back that far. As for the person asking "what's the point"? The point is, it's May, real football is 3 months away. Sometimes it's fun to talk about something random.
  10. Capable of winning the SB?
  11. Does this team make the playoffs: WR - Doug Baldwin / Tyrell Williams / Allen Hurns / Andre Holmes WR - Adam Thielen / Willie Snead / Cameron Meredith WR - Chris Hogan / Cole Beasley / Jermaine Kearse TE - Jack Doyle / Cameron Brate / Trey Burton LT - Alejandro Villanueva LG - Andrew Norwell / Patrick Omameh / Alex Boone C - David Andrews RG - La'el Collinas / Ronald Leary RT - Ryan Schraeder / Mike Remmers / Austin Howard QB - Case Keenum / Brian Hoyer RB - LeGarrette Blount / Isaiah Crowell / CJ Anderson / Cody Clement FB - Patrick Dimarco DE - Michael Bennett / Kerry Hyder DE - Mario Addison DT - Damon Harrison / Xavier Williams DT - David Irving / Abry Jones LB - Shaq Barrett / Chase Allen LB - Vontaze Burfict / Paul Worrilow LB - Christian Jones / Dylan Cole CB - AJ Bouye / Trevor Williams CB - Malcolm Butler / Ken Crawley CB - Chris Harris / Brian Poole S - Rodney McLeod / Darian Stewart / Tashaun Gipson S - Andrew Sendejo / Tony Jefferson / Barry Church K - Justin Tucker P - Johnny Hekker It's the all UDFA team. Sorry if I left someone off. Interested to see what people think this team can accomplish.
  12. Watch Brandon cost us a 2nd round pick on his way out the door.
  13. If Ben actually commits to 3-5 more years the Rudolph selection was worth it to eliminate his annual waffling on continuing to play.
  14. It makes me feel a little better we got Allen. I can't say it makes me feel better about their ability to evaluate if they would have taken a guy in the 20s who ended up going in the 70s. I'm through complaining about selecting Allen as it seems plan B was something like Edmunds at 12 and Rudolph at 22.
  15. I hope AJ is lights out for 11 games, gets hurt (nothing major), Allen is lights out for the last 5 and carries us into a playoff win. Then we trade AJ for a 1st round pick after the season. Best case scenario IMO.
  16. 6 / 37 / 49 / Jets 2019 2nd > 12 / 22 / 53 / Bills 2019 2nd
  17. So Beane wasn't willing to offer the 2019 1st to go to 2, but he would have been willing to offer it to go to 3?
  18. I don't think White is going to be above Lattimore, so likely just Shady. Is it just me, or is Bruce Irvin WAY overrated? I also don't know that I consider Carlos Hyde to be a top 100 guy.
  19. I didn't say a word about money. My argument is solely based on the head trauma he's already received and having a world renown spine surgeon for a father. If there's anyone I expect to be plugged in to the medical downside of playing football, it's Rosen.
  20. IMO this is all just part of the Browns spin cycle. "If we didn't pick him #1, the most respected guy in the league was totally going to trade up to take him #2".
  21. Arm strength is overrated until it isn't. Allen can physically do things a guy like Baker Mayfield can't. But he's unquestionably a project.
  22. Rosen could get lit up in preseason and really start to wonder if it's worth it. He could watch Bradford suffer yet another season ending injury first hand. We could learn even more about brain trauma in football and he can really say it's time to move on. If Baker succeeds he will be the only current franchise QB from an "Air Raid" system in the Big 12. I think that's pretty staggering. A major Power 5 conference that has no produced a single current "franchise" level QB. That's a HUGE dice roll from a franchise that's passed on the most exciting young QBs in the league in each of the past few drafts. But that's ignored because he's a fun guy. One USC QB has been successful in the past 20+ years, despite nearly every one of them getting a tremendous amount of hype. Darnold turns the ball over at a prolific rate and wasn't even a QB 5 years ago. They all have concerns. I just don't understand why anyone would take a firm stance for or against any of these 4. But the reality is in the "expert" world one doesn't get paid for saying "any of these guys could be good or bad, I don't really know" so Allen, the guy who toiled in obscurity in Laramie on CBS Sports channel 862 gets to be the whipping boy. And I wouldn't be shocked to see Lamar Jackson as the best of the bunch in 4 years.
  23. IMO the only way you should say a guy is certain to bust is character red flags. Jamarcus Russell / Ryan Leaf / Johnny Manziel, they had character red flags that said they would not be willing to put the necessary work in to succeed. No such red flags exist on Allen, so I just think it's dumb the amount of "experts" saying he's got no chance.
  24. I don't think there's an argument that Allen is very clearly a pick based upon potential. If the areas he needs to show major improvement weren't there, he would have been a consensus #1 and one of the highest evaluated QBs in years. However, the same is true for any of these QBs. Where I have a problem is people like Clark or Evan Silva who either imply or flat out state that Allen will not be able to make those improvements but Rosen will certainly overcome his concerns.
