The ownership has no respect for us
Chuck Wagon replied to Rebel101's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Be nice, try hard, take your vitamins, say your prayers, hope things work out. The process. -
I've tried hard to drown out the outside noise, see the potential in Allen and hope they got this right, but given they clearly got so much else wrong about the offense it's very hard to keep that faith.

Brock Osweiler - Fitzpatrick reincarnate. Perform well as a backup, get PAID, suck, get cut, perform well as a backup......

I'm sure someone who watches more film than I do can refute me, but Herbert just strikes me as what people would think about Allen if he played for a good P5 program and didn't have Baker / Darnold / Rosen in his draft class.

Things I trust more than "The Process"
Chuck Wagon replied to damj's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agree. What they've done with the effort level of the team is something to be recognized and applauded. However, it seems a lot of that is due to shipping out talented players who didn't give them the buy in. The lack of talent is something they created, they inherited plenty of talented players. If a team trades / cuts / doesn't resign / retires almost all their difference makers do they get credit for backup level players playing hard? -
I'm certainly hoping Allen works out. That being said, a massive tire fire of a failure the next season and a half leading to Tua + a young offensive minded HC (someone like DiFilipo) sounds pretty appetizing. I think they win yesterday if Allen didn't get hurt, which would put him at 3-2 as the starter. The hot take artist opinions would be A LOT different around here if that was the case. My concern is still mainly an offensive support system that requires Allen to put on a superman cape just to get 3 points.

Meh. Given the judgment on everything else involved with the offense, it's really hard to believe they got the right guy with Allen. Seems pretty clear the plan is to replicate the Panthers, aka build the best defense possible and hope Allen is good enough by himself to overcome a complete lack of support all around him.

A fair amount of posters exposure to the NFL is watching whoever the Bills are playing while hammered and catching the occasional prime time game. You can see it in the Mahomes threads, people have hard line stances on him without ever watching him play. It wouldn't surprise me if several of the strongly pro Foles people have seen him play 3 games total in his career.

This either feels like a game where the Pats line up with 2 TE / 6 olinemen and run the ball 45 times while Mahomes has a couple turnovers and watches most of the game from the sideline and all anyone talks about is another early season Andy Reid mirage, or a game where the Chiefs hang 50 on them and we get more "demise of the Pats", with very little room in between.

Do you want the Bills to make the playoffs this year?
Chuck Wagon replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given we are already down a H2H tiebreaker against Baltimore and the Chargers, I think our best (only) shot at the playoffs is a Brady injury and 8 or 9 wins taking the division. -
If they are willing to give up a day 2 pick, we should do it without thinking twice. I think some people are overlooking that Shady could still be facing a suspension for the trouble that's gone on with his ex. The league is wildly unpredictable when it comes to situations like that and I wouldn't be shocked to see him handed a 6 game suspension ala Elliott at some point. I get the leadership Shady provides to the team, but I think most involved are pretty realistic about the situation.

If the story is true he was on the plane to come to Buffalo and the Saints upped their offer, signing him on the tarmac.

Tre White is the Best Player On the Bills Now
Chuck Wagon replied to Domdab99's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
PFF loved him last year but not so much this year. I forget who said it, but someone was talking about Josh Norman when he "broke out", they said he was the same player he's always been, just one year he decided to start talking trash in the media and suddenly he got recognized as a top CB. I think that's a pretty apt description of the recognition Tre (doesn't) get. -
How is this stat line? Edmunds thru 5 games...
Chuck Wagon replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to mention a defensive minded head coach committed to putting pieces around the linebacker, constantly bringing in new defensive guys through waivers/FA, meanwhile they just now decided it might be a good idea to put a vet backup QB in the meeting room with the rookie. -
Is Josh Allen just a taller Tyrod Taylor
Chuck Wagon replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's really tough just having the broadcast angle, but from what I saw of the game there were several instances the oline gave Allen all the time in the world to process and he ended up eating the ball. Without having the all-22, it was impossible for me to tell if our receivers just couldn't get open or if he's simply locking on one guy and focused on not making mistakes.
