Should the Bills make a run at C.J. Uzomah [TE]?

I firmly believe everyone who fancies themselves an “analyst” said there’s no way all the rookie QBs would be good, so they had to pick a wipping boy. They weren’t going to pick the two guys who tore up college (Baker & Lamar) and they weren’t going to pick the two guys treated like “pros” in LA (Darnold & Rosen). So they picked the guy they knew the least about, Allen, then try to shoot every part of his game to pieces to back up their pre draft opinion.

As good as our defense is, we could badly use a stud 3 technique or edge. That's where the value lies in the draft. Stay at 9 and go BPA.

All teams in the nfl salary cap number.

Indy is going to be a problem for a long time, assuming Luck's injury concerns are behind him. They can actually protect him now with a good young line, they have a very young D shaping up nicely and can sign about anyone they want. Cap space is incredibly overrated as a tool to improve a team IMO. People have been pointing at that as a potential saving grace, but there are several more desirable locations / teams with as much or more cap space as us and the elite teams that want to add talent always find a way to make the contracts work. -
It's got nothing to do with anthems. The league got smarter this year and put better games in primetime. They realized a large portion of their diehards consume Sunday daytime games through Redzone, which gave them the ability to put some of the garbage games together in a window that would still provide entertainment and focused on putting interesting games at night by themselves, especially Thursday night. This was by far the best season of Thursday night football. Some real gems this year: http://www.nfl.com/schedules/2018/TNF

Outside of maybe Trent Brown or Greg Robinson (former bust but played better in Cle at the end of the year), I don't see a LT better than Dawkins in FA.

So realistically, who do you want at 9?

BPA. No trade down. Need to add a blue chip player at any position. -
2019 Mock Drafts and top prospects

That's who I was thinking about. The board would go ballistic, but I think there has to be some concerns about Milano's durability and pairing White and Edmunds as guys who stay on the field in all packages (short of dime) could be really interesting. -
2019 NFL Draft: Bills officially picking 9th
Chuck Wagon replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With Haskins surely gone by the time we pick, it already seems like a real key is if someone like the Jags or the Dolphins / Broncos (in a trade up) talk themselves into Lock or Jones in the top 8. #9 feels too rich to take WR given the talent distribution in this class. Outside of maybe Jonah Williams (or Little / Taylor) coming in as a Day 1 starter at LT/RT, it feels like we just need to use the pick on the BPA defensive lineman and rebuild the O with the rest of the draft. -

It's very early in the process, but already feel like we are going to be staring at LB or CB as the clear cut BPA when we hit the clock.... -
I think Herbert completely closes the door on a trade down with a team looking at QB. It should put Haskins as a clear #1 and would likely force the hand of the Giants / Jags or any other team who wants a potential franchise QB into moving up to 1 or 2. There's always a chance Lock or even Daniel Jones ends up as a Gabbert / Locker type that someone talks themselves into going up to get but I'm not holding my breath on that. Granted, we need to (not) take care of business on Sunday to be in any sort of potential position on a move.

Week 17 -- rooting for a win or loss?
Chuck Wagon replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lose, because I'm not a moron who thinks some good feelings from this pointless game matter moving forward. The difference in draft value of a loss vs a win this week is roughly equivalent to a very high 2nd round pick. -
Rebuilding your offense from the inside out

You just going to invent a TE to sign in FA? Outside of maybe Jared Cook it's a wasteland. -
Cap Management and Filling Needs

Bingo It's the biggest thing left out when the cap space discussion pops up. The Colts have $30 mil more cap space than we do. -

Fields plus Harrison would be a heck of a start to Ryan Day's tenure...
