Bills have interest in Seattle DE Frank Clark
Chuck Wagon replied to FluffHead's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interest is a one way street until proven otherwise. Agents are just using us. -
Well, Cincy is the cheapest team in the league so they never pursue a FA anyone cares about. Cleveland has certainly gotten the same amount of flack as the Bills have but now with Baker they are everyone's new favorite team. Pittsburgh and Green Bay have been Super Bowl champs (semi) recently. The organization has put itself in position to be the butt of these jokes, bottom line. It doesn't mean some "writer" who makes $30k a year and lives off ramen while living in a friends garage in "beautiful" LA needs to be taking every cheap shot at the Bills.

This. Beane saw a chance to acquire a true #1 WR and took it. Bills and Steelers had parameters of a deal in place. Steelers tell Rapaport. Bills reach out to Rosenhaus / AB to make sure all would be ok. Rosenhause / AB runs to Schefter to blow it up. Beane says "eff this" and walks. Twitter makes fun of the Bills, instead of AB or the Steelers, because that's what it does.

As others have said, it's pretty apparent something is already rotten with the Steelers. AB didn't start this, Leveon was the first. Roethlisberger has a long standing reputation of not being the hardest working guy in the room, I think players saw how the organization handled Leveon vs how Roethlisberger gets treated and it's permeated the locker room. I do believe it's clear AB is at the point where it's more about him than the team. But this notion we can't handle any ego in the locker room and have to be a team of only blue collar guys is a sure way to go 5-11 every year.

This The Steelers have to be fuming. Their chances at a decent deal are gone. AB wants freedom and a new contract. I 100% think the same thing would have happened with the Redskins or Titans unless a trade came with a fat new contract. There's very little risk on the acquiring team if Brown is on his old deal, if he's a malcontent you can cut him with no cap hit. A new contract changes that. We just get heaped on because most of the media is unoriginal and will always take an easy pot shot joke about the Bills.

Bingo I 100% believe the narrative Brown wants a new contract on the team he picks. He's going to force the Steelers to release him. The Titans / Redskins smelled it out and pulled out before they let it get reported to the point of essentially Brown nixing an agreed upon trade. We got used by Rosenhaus / AB and now end up the butt of jokes throughout the entire league because of it, likely through no fault of our own.

Brown is a great player. He refused to come here and it wasn't about money. He's completely forgotten his roots, the fact he walked on at Central Michigan and entered the league in the 6th round is entirely irrelevant. He was just on the "Masked Singer", he's beginning to look at his steps beyond football and raising his profile for the next stage of his life, if he comes to Buffalo that's a profile killer. I strongly applaud Beane & McDermott for having the stones on pursing it. The aggressiveness is what's needed. But they can/should find out through back channels if it's a move AB would even entertain before putting as all out there with egg on our face.
