Anthony Lynn fired by Chargers

I would be shocked if they don't hire Daboll, he went to high school with Telesco and share an agent. -
Josh vs Tua collegewise
Chuck Wagon replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't mean to disparage Craig Bohl, the guy is very successful and he found Josh when he was way under the radar. But Josh showed how much he was capable of improving with coaching. If he had been in Baker's shoes at Oklahoma or at Bama / Clemson / Ohio St etc he would absolutely have been pick #1 and likely would have received significant hype about being an all time prospect. I think a lot of "experts" barely watched him and parroted opinions. -
Yes and no. Obviously guys like Mahomes & Rodgers have shown they are marketable anywhere they play. That being said, big market teams (especially the NFC East) can be absolutely terrible and are still the highest rated TV games regardless of air time, which is why we get force fed primetime NFC East games.

Minshew an option as backup QB?
Chuck Wagon replied to Mountain Man's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Exactly! Josh has gone full blown Jedi. Luke doesn't need Obi Wan anymore. Time for him to become the master and Fromm the apprentice. -
Prioritize which upcoming UFA’s to re-sign

After watching the Saints operate for years, I'm convinced the salary cap isn't real and was created by cheap owners with bad cap guys. Claiming cap isn't available is a negotiating tactic to drive the price down or an excuse for an owner who doesn't want to pay. -
Ravens Win. Good news for the Bills

On the radio here in Ohio this morning one of the guys said he wouldn't be concerned with a Bills matchup for the Browns because Josh has been really shaky most of this year..... -
Playbooks staying and leaving with Daboll
Chuck Wagon replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If he gets a HC job, good for him! Having an offensive core that was a stepping stone for a HC job should allow for plenty of options on replacements being available. -
We are not the best team but we can beat anyone
Chuck Wagon replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think some of the fanbase needs to realize there's no "perfect" Championship contending team. Every team is covering holes. But this team can beat any team in the league and win games in multiple different ways. That's the mark of a championship contender. -
Post Game thread Bills @ 49ers

Steelers D has fallen off hard. Bush / Dupree are big losses and they just lost Spillane who had taken over D play calling after Bush. -

If we can beat Pittsburgh next week, they may find themselves in a position where week 17 they are playing Cleveland for the division. From 11-0 to losing your division. Let’s put them on the track. -
How about Aaron Jones at RB next year?

Draft Harris or Etienne. -
Lions fire HC Matt Patricia and GM Bob Quinn
Chuck Wagon replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It sure feels like the Lions have done less with more than any team in the league. Completely wasted Calvin Johnson, Stafford is not going to have anywhere near the success his talent or numbers would indicate, even now they look to have reloaded at skill talent with Swift / Hock / still having Golladay (for the time being) and still a complete train wreck. -

Black Monday is coming (UPDATE: is here!).....
Chuck Wagon replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Joe Brady is going to be a hot name, riding the LSU Natty heat and acclimated well as a NFL OC with Carolina. I can understand your reasoning for the college guys, but I think Matt Campbell has a chance to land one of the jobs. Pat Fitzgerald may be an interesting name for the Bears too. -
In the salary cap era, there isn't a perfect team. Every team has shortcomings that need covered up as best as teams can manage. Just last year the Chiefs defense put them in big holes each of the final 3 games of the season. I think this team is capable of beating any team in the league. As ugly as the Chiefs game was, we were a missed FG at the end of the half and a close but not quite fumble at the end of the game away from stealing it.

My god, I could not imagine being in Pegula's shoes, knowing you desperately wanted Mahomes but allowed your football people to do their job and now you are forced to watch him ascend to potentially the GOAT status from a distance on a pick you traded away.

Why did the league move 3 games when Cam was the only positive Patriot and now they are essentially saying "Oh well, see you in a day!"?

Could Darnold end up backing up Allen in Buffalo?
Chuck Wagon replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bears, Colts, Steelers, 49ers, Saints (though I think they think their Taysom thing is real), Washington, Patriots, Bucs, Broncos could all potentially be in the market for a new starting QB (not to mention Jets / Jags likely taking Fields / Lawrence). As much as they would like to, Brady, Big Ben, Rivers, Brees will retire at some point.
