I think Morse is the only one in the group with a sure spot, and the money matches that. The other 4 spots are all up for grabs and the best guy is going to play.

Oliver I'm crazy, but I kind of get the feeling he's going to go #3-4 and afterwards there will be the rush of stories about how he was the guy every team in the league wanted and they all tried to hide their interest.

This is putting the cart before the horse, there's still a decent chance JA flames out dramatically and Beane is more remembered as being associated with trading Mahomes only to give up a bunch of picks to get Josh Allen.

Beat me to it. That's the key in insightful posting. You say "we need to acquire a true #1 WR" but don't ever mention any potential available "true #1 wrs" or say "we need to trade back to get more picks" without ever giving a realistic trade scenario.

Good on all you having so much optimism. The offense has gotten better, but only in the sense that we'll have actual NFL starters at most every position. I think it's hard to argue there's a single blue chip player on the entire unit, we are asking a 2nd year still raw QB to put on a super hero cape against teams that have a full year of film on him now. Still feels like a 6-8 win team.

He was a complete unknown going into the season and there were a little bit bigger storylines in Columbus this past season.

That was my speculation when they first said it. Gettleman isn't going to move up and Haskins isn't going to be there at 6. The Jones - Eli connections seem really strong.

There were the same exact narratives about his brother. Not twitchy enough to go that early, just solid, not spectacular. Then the Chargers "shocked" everyone and took him at 3, haven't looked back. Media is working hard to spin narratives about the draft right now.

If you believe Murray is your franchise QB, you don't open up the risk that your division rival at #2 could potentially trade your guy out from under you, bottom line.

They moved up for Allen and Edmunds last year, everyone knew we'd move up for a QB but Edmunds was the shocker. McDermott was in the draft where we moved up for Zay. It's safe to say if they've identified a player and the opportunity is there, they won't be shy.
